Eliza Shimizu

Character Information

Eliza Shimizu (清し水みず エライザ,, Shimizu Eraiza) is a supporting character from Bocchi the Rock!. She is in charge of guitar of the band, SICK HACK. She originally came from England, and moved to Japan 3 years ago so she could attend Comiket and be in an Ani-song cover band. She also made some doujinshi on top of her band activities. She watches Alto Otogi while drawing doujinshi.

Appearance

Eliza has bright yellow long hair with denim blue eyes, and first appears wearing a yukata with its top loosened, revealing her innerwear

Personality

She introduces herself as a cheerful person, which already shows along with her friendly side when meeting with Kessoku Band for the first time in Shinjuku FOLT before their live. She also did not hesitate to claim she is an otaku, admitting her reason to come to Japan was merely to be able to attend Comiket and be in an Ani-song cover band. Her otaku behaviour is pretty bold as she possesses a lot of knowledge about anime and its tropes, and is always passionate when it comes to such conversations. She also tends to spend all of her money on Comima (in-universe version of Comic Market/Comiket). In addition, Eliza owns various anime merchandise items like the keychain set of Slow Loop characters attached to her phone case. When it comes to drawing doujinshi, she is pretty strict with meeting her deadlines that even band activities cannot bother her. She also loves maid outfits, and frequents the concept cafe where Elena Hinata works. She pays Elena the most money.[2] However when performing she demonstrates both passion and composure in her playing, as described by Bocchi as "emotional yet logical" during their live performance. Despite the fact that SICK HACK might not be the ideal band for her and her background being different from Shima's and Kikuri's, Eliza remains loyal to the band and continues to provide a strong performance to the audience, in fact she accepted SICK HACK's chaotic nature, claiming that to be a real rock star is to be "scummy". Despite already producing doujins in Japanese and experiencing Japanese media for some time, Eliza actually does not have a good grip on the language, and usually it is Shima Iwashita that helps her with her Japanese.
