Betelgeuse, also known publicly as Beetlejuice, is the titular main antagonist of the 1988 horror comedy film Beetlejuice, and the antiheroic protagonist of the spin-off animated television series of the same name. He was portrayed by Michael Keaton in his first villainous role, who also voiced Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Chick Hicks in Disney/Pixar's Cars, Ken in Disney/Pixar's Toy Story 3, and V.A. Vandevere in the 2019 live-action remake of Dumbo. In the film, Betelgeuse is shown to have the personality of a demented con artist.

Betelgeuse has been shown to be a moody, demented, and troublemaking ghost who seems to only care about himself and the chaos he brings which he sees as his profession. Although it is proven that he does not care about the living and could even kill someone due to his tricks and not care. Betelgeuse also has no sense of boundaries and is just totally unpleasant and unlikable.
