Ninjago is a city that is often attacked by the evil Lord Garmadon, who is Lloyd's father and Coco's husband. The town despises Lloyd for this relationship, which puts Lloyd under emotional stress. What they don't know is that Lloyd is part of the Secret Ninja Squad, consisting of Nya, Zane, Jay, Cole, Kai and their teacher, Master Wu. They always stop Garmadon from taking over the city. On Lloyd's birthday, Garmadon attacks the city again, but is again defeated. He escapes and throws many of his generals out of the volcano for failing to help him, as well as for failing to take over Ninjago. Then they bring him a drawing of a huge robot with which he can take power in the city. Meanwhile, Lloyd and his friends see Master Wu return from his long journey.
