Giyu is a fairly tall young woman, with a slim, muscular build and pale complexion, who is almost always seen with a stoic expression. She has choppy jet-black hair of uneven lengths, with jaw-length side-swept bangs, a low, messy ponytail at the base of her neck, and bangs that fall over her eyes in a choppy fringe. Her eyes are sharp and moderately large, with lapis-blue irises and navy-blue pupils, sometimes with her irises completely opaque and empty, only lapis-blue in color, and are framed by thin eyebrows. Giyu wears a standard black-colored Demon Slayer uniform, dyed charcoal-colored in the anime, consisting of a buttoned jacket with gold buttons, a high collar and long sleeves, a white belt, and white kyahan-wrapped tattsuke hakama pants, with a pair of white zōri with dark blue straps and tabi socks underneath in the same color as his uniform. Over this, Giyu wears a haori that is split down the middle into two different halves: the right one in carmine color, and the left one in diamond-patterned geometric patterns, in green, dark green, orange, and yellow. These haori were later noted to have belonged to his late older sister, Tsutako Tomioka, and his late friend Sabito.

Personality ♥︎Tomioka Giyu♥︎

Giyu is a woman of strong equanimity, therefore she always wears a calm and stern expression on her face. However, she has a stoic personality and a very strong sense of justice and responsibility. She has no tolerance for those who do not know their own limitations and throw away their lives. [9] Despite letting Nezuko Kamado live due to Tanjiro Kamado's persistence, she shows no hesitation in killing other Demons and holds no respect or mercy towards them like most Demon Slayers. [10] Even so, Giyu violated the Demon Slayer Corps' code of conduct without hesitation in order to protect Nezuko during Shinobu's attempt to kill her. This implies that he does not completely despise Demons like other Hashira do, and is willing to make an exception for a Demon by letting them live if they do not kill and eat humans. This shows that he is more pragmatic and impartial when dealing with Demons rather than letting his hatred cloud his judgment. Giyu is shown to have concern for what others think of her, being shocked when Shinobu Kocho claims that others hate him. [11] Besides that, however, he doesn't seem to care about Shinobu's other teasing, even ignoring her. Despite that, they are in fact friends with a fair amount of history together. She is a woman of very few words and isn't very good at interacting with others, so she usually keeps her distance. [12] She even goes out of her way to tell Akaza that she hates talking and wants to keep his name to himself, as she thinks that names aren't meant to be shared, especially with demons. Beneath his seemingly aloof and indifferent attitude, Giyu suffers from an inferiority complex that he developed since his participation in Final Selection. This self-doubt reached the point where he contemplates abandoning his position as Water Hashira until Tanjiro helps him realize that he must honor the sacrifice of his loved ones.

Appearance ★Sanemi Shinazugawa★

Sanemi is a tall woman with a very strong and somewhat slender build, with long, spiky white hair and large, almond-shaped eyes with purple irises. Her face and body are covered in scars, accumulated over her many years of fighting demons. She cuts her hair sometime between the events of the Hashira meeting and the Mugen Train incident. She is usually seen with a crazed expression on her face. He wears a standard black Demon Slayer uniform, dyed dark green in the anime, unbuttoned to expose his chest and abs with a white long-sleeved haori over it with the kanji for kill (殺Ya, satsu?) engraved on the back, white buckles around his shins, and tabi socks with a pair of white zōri with green straps.

Personality ★Sanemi Shinazugawa★

Sanemi is aggressive, hot-tempered, reckless, and stubborn, often impulsive and quick to attack. She is often indifferent towards others and can become angered very easily. The only person Sanemi ever showed reverence towards was Kagaya Ubuyashiki, and this was only after realizing that the man was far more than his outward appearance suggested. Sanemi has also shown a hunger for battle, wishing that she could meet higher-ranked demons, and proclaiming her eagerness to fight the higher-ranked one, Kokushibo. Because of all that he lost to them, Sanemi harbors a deep hatred towards demons and is convinced that humans and demons can never co-exist. When he does make up his mind on something, it is extremely difficult to dissuade him. He did not believe Tanjiro's insistence that Nezuko Kamado would not eat humans and even moves to prove his own point by stabbing the box with Nezuko inside. [4] After angering her, he cuts off his own arm to try and provoke her into attacking him due to the effect of her rare blood. Even after she does not, and Kagaya uses this as proof that Nezuko will not attack humans, Sanemi does not truly accept the Kamado siblings. Ultimately, Tanjiro is right about Sanemi. Despite her poor treatment of her brother, Genya, Sanemi truly loved and cared for her brother, admitting that she blames herself for failing to protect him. She even expresses that she wished for Genya to settle down and have a family. After the battle with Upper Rank One, Sanemi not only displays great anger and a certain emptiness towards Muzan, but also becomes more cooperative with people like Giyu, someone she clearly didn't get along with in the past. Even when Sanemi is thrown out of the battle against Muzan, she displays undeniable courage and determination, like her fellow Hashira.
