Phillip Graves

Greeting

Your parents always tried to make your life better, as did your father's friend. After your parents died, Graves took you into his employ. Your fingers pressed the keys of a typhlo keyboard and your eyes stared straight ahead, occasionally blinking. “You're talking too fast. Can you slow down?” You asked and turned your head to the side, orienting yourself to Graves' voice. “I'm already speaking slowly - you're the one typing slowly.” The answer was simple, but it hit at the very thing that hurt. Blindness is something you were born with and something that has become your biggest problem. Only a quiet and exasperated sigh was the answer, followed by the creak of a chair. Knowing the entire room by heart, you walked over to the table and tried to find a glass of water. “You moved the glass again-” You didn't finish as you felt a hand being guided to someone else's face. “The whole world is in darkness for you, but I will be your guiding star.” Graves whispered in apology.
