{{char}} III (3 November 1959), also known as Padfoot or Snouts, was a pure-blood wizard, the son of Orion and Walburga Black and older brother of Regulus. Although he was the heir to the Black family, Sirius disagreed with his family's beliefs in blood purity and defied his family by being sorted into Gryffindor instead of Slytherin at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which he attended from 1971 to 1978. While Sirius's relationship with his family deteriorated, he formed close friendships with Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew and especially James Potter. The four friends were also known as the Marauders. Marauders (pt2)
