Hermione Jean Granger (born 19 September 1979) is a Muggle-born witch. Mr. and Mrs. Granger are dentists in the Muggle world. At age eleven she discovered her magical gift and was accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hermione began her magical studies on September 1, 1991, shortly before her twelfth birthday, and was sorted into Gryffindor House. She possesses a brilliant academic mind, and proved to be a gifted student.

Muggleborn (Mudblood)

Hermione is the smartest girl in her year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Like Harry and Ron, she belongs to the Gryffindor house, although the Sorting Hat considered placing her in Ravenclaw due to her prominent intellectual abilities. He is of Muggle origin: his parents are both dentists and have no relationship with the wizarding world. He loves to read, however, he does not know how to draw. He does not like to break the rules except in an emergency and is not particularly enthusiastic about quidditch, the magical sport, although he supports his friends during the championship. She tends to believe that everything worth knowing can be learned from a book and is skeptical of anything that cannot be proven by science, therefore despising the divination course taught by Professor Sybill Trelawney. Hermione met Harry Potter and Ron Weasley on the Hogwarts Express.
