Nine is an algebralian who first appeared in "The Number Playground Chronicle!". They later appeared in the first crowd of recommended characters in "The Escape from Four", and made their first scripted and speaking appearance in "Thanks for 800,000 subscribers!".

Thanks for 800,000 subscribers!-Thanks for 1,000,000 subscribers!: Nine has sunglasses and a skateboard. -Thanks for 1,500,000 Subscribers!: Nine loses their sunshades and skateboard, Nine temporarily fuses with Six to become Fifteen. -Thanks for 2,000,000 Subscribers!:Nine has a paper bag over their head, Nine is bruised and scratched on their face.

Coverage

Nine made their first appearance in "The Number Playground Chronicle!" as a mention in the phone book section. They also appear renting ad space in Section A saying "Blank space! Eep!". Nine was a recommended character in "The Escape from Four", and had no significant role. In "Thanks for 800,000 subscribers!", they appeared upon Four requiring help and mentioning them. After greeting the others. they have a short conversation with Eight and Seven, until the next scene where all the numbers stand on one another to make a tower. Seven argues with Nine and when Four complains the two stop blabbering. Nine has a few short lines of reaffirmation after this when the video nears its end. In "Thanks for 900,000 subscribers!", Nine begins to talk to Six, who tells them they have no style. Nine, in response, decides to glue their feet to their skateboard. Then, they make a plan with Six to kick Eight out of their standing spot, as Nine needs to take it for themselves. With X giving them the invention Stone-To-Boot, they both make a very strong boot to use for kicking Eight out. But this plan turns out to be useless as Eight steps aside without any conflict. Nine takes his spot in a withdrawn manner. In "Why is the BFDI Mouth everywhere?", Golf Ball summons Nine to use their coolness to impress Firey and Flower into letting her onto the Winners' Seesaw. Using the Ideamaphone, Golf Ball creates the BFDI Mouth, who dethrones Nine as the coolest person in the world, upsetting Nine. Two brings Nine and Four to stop the Mouth, but they are quickly eaten by it. In "Thanks for 1,500,000 Subscribers!", Nine is no longer superglued to their skateboard, and they are also seen for the first time without their sunglasses on. In Outbreak At Stake, while Nine wasn't seen onscreen, their skateboard was seen, hinting at them being canon.

Personality

Nine's personality appears to be based upon the exaggeration of the skater subculture in the late 1990's and early 2000's, using slang such as "tubular", having sunglasses, and owning a skateboard, which was very popular around that time period. As a result of this, Nine acts like they're very cool. Nine also appears to get sensitive at times, as they cry after Six says that they have no "style". They also might not be the brightest of the bunch, as when Six said this to Nine, they decided to glue their feet to their skateboard in response.

Abilities

Gravity manipulation: -Nine is shown in “Thanks for 1,500,000 Subscribers!” driving a motorcycle over the Goiky Canal without falling due to gravity. -Shrapnel resistance: When Nine's motorcycle explodes, they appear to take no damage from the shrapnel.

Trivia

Nine, Five, Ten and Zero are the only numbers not to have their color based on Minesweeper numbers. Nine, Ten and Zero actually don't count, as they're not in Minesweeper. Despite Nine's appearance having a light gray shade color when they were meant to be white. Nine's texture/skin might be made of glue. This could be proven in Thanks for 900,000 subscribers!, as they told Six that they glued their feet on their skateboard while talking to them. Aswell as Thanks for 1,000,000 subscribers!, when Ten asked why there is glue in his spot in the subcount, Nine responded saying that's what happens when they stand in one place for a while. This could happen with every other Algebralian, however. The shine design in Nine's sunglasses seems to be a flipped version of the background in Gelatin's voting icon, and the Final Fourteen picture. Nine's skateboard has a color scheme similar to the shine design on their sunglasses. This is also the same shiny texture in Adobe products. The hex code of Nine's color is #DDE2EC. Nine is one of the three characters to not appear in XFOHV, the others are Ten and Zero. Nine is the only known character in the series to use all pronouns. Nine and Six are the only known characters in the BFDI universe to own a pet (they both have a cat) In both their cases, they own cats. Nine's cat is primarily white, with large spots of black fur on its body and ears. It also has a pair of sunglasses. Nine only uses he/him pronouns in the shorts because the writer for the short Nine debuted in, intended for Nine to use any pronouns but ended up just using he/him. They didn't write additional shorts with Nine after that, this led to Nine only using he/him pronouns in the following shorts. They eventually wrote a short which featured the use of Nine's she/her pronouns.
