APPEARANCE

Pearl is a gem of average height, thin body and white skin. Pearl has a round face, no pupils and a pointed nose. Her stone is located on her forehead, being oval and white in color. She has short, pointed pink hair, which covers the sides of her face. Pre-regeneration (Beginning) From "The Shining Stone" to "Samurai Steven", she wears a baby blue strapless top with a pale blue pearl, and short coral-toned leggings over a trailing blue and lime green skirt resembling yellow. Jeweled men and greens. She became very beautiful, but in a different style than post-regeneration. Post-regeneration (Currently) After the ending of "Samurai Steven" she wears a light blue outfit with a yellow star and yellow leggings and dances in a cyan-colored skirt. Her shoes are still light but with pink socks. She is slightly taller after she regenerates. In "A Day at the Beach", she wears a turquoise and white dress as her casual beach wear. Past When Pearl served Pink Diamond, she had a different appearance. Her outfit was a dress with short sleeves and a long train. As sleeves, the dress had a blue, a green, and an orange stripe, and white stripes. Pearl wore white shoes with a ball on the tip.

PERSONALITY

Pearl is intelligent, a perfectionist, a clean freak, and a bit sentimental. Rebecca Sugar is practically a samurai, being incredibly precise. Most of the time, she is the one who comes up with the plans for the Crystal Gems to overcome some situations. Among all the Crystal Gems, Pearl is the oldest person like a mother to Steven, always worrying about him and his future, as well as being effective with him when he does things wrong. She is disgusted by food, and can get sick of seeing someone eating. In "Family Dinner", she demonstrates what happens inside the human body while eating. Her disclosure process is as important as her copyright, Alexandrite got into conflict and ended up separating. However, as she does not feel pressured in the process and is not food itself, like in "So Many Birthdays", where she says she loves pies. In "Space Race", Pearl is shown to miss Homeworld and the other Gem colonies at times. She is upset to discover that none of the Galaxy Warp transporters are working. She holds her desire to see Homeworld and the other Gem colonies above all else, above reason and even above her and Steven's good. Pearl can be a bit moody, can be irritable and can be fascinating about simple things, such as the ending of each moment in the series. Among them are: "She got angry for fear of doing something in "Gem Mirror" and she was terrified of being trapped and away from "Say, Uncle".

SKILLS

Spear Proficiency: Through her many years of training, Pearl can summon her weapon, a pearlescent spear. Pearl is very skilled in the art of spear-wielding and follows her fighting pattern which involves formal (ballet) dance. She moves gracefully and quickly, striking with grace and poise. She remains calm and confident during hand-to-hand battles, duels, and skirmishes. Pearl is also very skilled at throwing her spear. This was proven in "Giant Woman" and "A Day at the Beach". As of "Bismuth", Pearl's spear has been upgraded to be able to transform into a trident. Dual Wielding: Pearl is capable of wielding two spears in battle, implying that she is ambidextrous. Energy Projection: Pearl can fire arrow-shaped energy blasts from the tip of her spear. This can be done as a rapid fire or charged to unleash a more powerful blast. In attacking light, this ability is referred to as "fireball". It is implied in "Bismuth" that this ability may have been developed some time after the title character was bubbled by Rose. Swordsmanship: Pearl possesses knowledge and skill with a sword. For one-on-one combat, Pearl's preferred weapon is a straight-bladed saber. Pearl's parries are tight and minimalist; her offense is a pattern specific to the environment. This pattern consists of thrusts, jabs, and horizontal slashes. Engineering: On several occasions, Pearl has demonstrated a high level of skill in mechanical engineering, ranging from reverse engineering Robonoids to building a combat-ready robot in no time. She also built a rocket in an attempt to leave Earth, proving herself capable of competing with "expert" mechanics such as Peridot. Photokinesis: Pearl can use her gemstone to illuminate dark places. Garnet, Eye, Mistress, Peridot, and the Rutile Twins share the same ability.

UNIQUE SKILLS

Holographic Projection: Pearl can project holographic images from her gemstone, which she primarily uses as a visual aid when tutoring Steven. While most holograms appear intangible, some, such as Holo-Pearl, can interact with solid matter. Additionally, holograms can function without Pearl's presence for up to two weeks, implying that her holograms can live independently. In "Chille Tid", it is shown that Pearl's dreams are projected as holograms while she sleeps. Self-Duplication: In addition to Holo-Pearls, which are projected through her gemstone, Pearl can also replicate herself multiple times into hologram-esque clones of herself, as seen in "A Day at the Beach". Geokinesis: Pearl is shown manipulating a small amount of sand to create figures in "Giant Woman". It is currently unknown how much sand she can control at one time. This ability has only been shown once so far. Uranokinesis: In "Sworn to the Sword", Pearl can channel clouds into fog, reducing visibility and able to dissipate in the direction of her choosing, being able to gather clouds around the arena to create a mishmash. However, it is unknown if she can do this in other locations. Additionally, in "Mister Greg", Pearl forms clouds into portraits of herself, Rose, and Greg during the song "Is This It, Over?", though this may have been for dramatic effect and not her manipulating the clouds. Interdimensional Storage: Pearl can store objects within a dimension in her gemstone, including other gemstones and humans. This ability was shown in "Lars and the Cool Kids", "Mirror Gem", "Sworn to the Sword", and "Familiar", but was most notably used in "A Single Pale Rose", where Pearl asks Steven to enter her gemstone to retrieve her cell phone.
