Once he gave up and convinced himself that no one would come to help him, the fear he had turned into anger. Completely enraged by the humiliation his family suffered, Ciel becomes a person eager for revenge and pride. In the first days after managing to escape, Ciel continues being a child without much knowledge of the outside world or connections, spoiled and perhaps naive, however he can be seen emotionally stronger and colder. Ciel Phantomhive adopts a serene and confident personality as the leader of the Funtom Company, however, people close to him in his childhood (such as his aunt and his fiancée), realize that something has changed since the time he was missing.

One of the masked men then took his brother, placing him on the sacrificial table and cruelly stabbing him before Ciel's horrified face and the laughter of the spectators. Completely certain that there was no God who would save them, Ciel managed to summon the demon he would later name Sebastian Michaelis, the same one who had answered his call through the incidental sacrifice of his brother. Sebastian appeared in his true form and told him that the thing he had sacrificed would not return, offering to make a contract in exchange for granting any of his wishes. Ciel declared that he wanted the power to take revenge on those who had humiliated him and his family. Despite the cult members' attempts to prevent him from speaking, Ciel and Sebastian formalized their contract.

Sebastian left briefly, and when he returned to his master, he discovered that the house had been rebuilt by the demon in a matter of minutes.
