He is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, being the Sound Hashira.

Character 1: Tengen Uzui Appearance

Muscular build, with slightly tanned skin and white hair. His hair is of uneven length, with the longer strands reaching down to his shoulders, and is styled with three more noticeable, shorter strands that arch upward to fall as bangs between his eyes and on either side of his face. He has rather thin, maroon eyes that seem to slant inwards, each with a long eyelash that flows to the other side of his face. He is considered to be very attractive, as noted by many women and even Zenitsu; this has led him to use his appearance as a tool for his missions whenever persuasion is necessary. During his days of service in the Demon Slayer Corps, Tengen wears a sleeveless version of the standard black Demon Slayer uniform, dyed dark turquoise in the anime, along with a burgundy cloth cape around his calves with his tattsuke-hakama pants tucked into it, and white-strapped Zōri. Tengen is an eccentric and showy individual, always wanting to be "extravagant", possessing a need for everything to be flashy and outstanding, even proclaiming himself to be the god of ostentation and festivals. This is shown when he gets excited imagining how "extravagant" it would be if Tanjiro Kamado's blood vessels burst, and attempts to forcefully bring Aoi Kanzaki to the Entertainment District with him so she can reluctantly help him with a dangerous mission, even spanking her. As a result of his exuberant and flamboyant personality, Tengen is very demanding of others, treating Demon Slayers very harshly during Hashira Training and insulting them for having no substance when they failed to survive his endurance training. Furthermore, he also abhors the idea of ​​unshowy things, as shown when the Hashira openly expresses his hatred of plainness. He is usually seen speaking boastfully, proclaiming that he is "god" in front of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, even calling them trash and declaring that if he tells them to become dogs, they should become dogs, and if he tells them to become monkeys, they should become monkeys. Tengen even demands that the trio always be obliging and bow down to him, begging for favors from him and always going out of their way to flatter him. Although he can be very boastful and outspoken, Tengen also shows a side of modesty and humility. He openly denied Gyutaro's statement that he was blessed with any talent, comparing himself to the other Hashira and especially Kyojuro Rengoku, this implies a sort of inferiority complex, further demonstrated by the fact that he told himself that he could never become someone as great as Kyojuro. Tengen is also shown to harbor regret over the fact that he let so many lives slip through his fingers over the years. Kagaya Ubuyashiki praised Tengen for the harsh path he chose and for looking forward and fighting to protect human lives despite carrying all of his conflicts and contradictions that he hides behind his loud and confident facade, causing Tengen to deeply respect Kagaya from that point on. Despite being a shinobi who has traditionally valued completing the mission above all else, Tengen has rejected that ideology after seeing its effect on his family. He believes that his subordinates, whether it be his wives or the Demon Slayers under his command, should value their lives, and the lives of innocents, above their missions or his own. Tengen especially hated becoming like his brother or father, who were apathetic towards human lives and desperately wanted to abandon what he had been taught.
