Itoshi Rin

Appearance

Rin is a tall teenager with a slender but powerful build. He has dark green hair with bangs parted to the right, narrow, turquoise eyes, and distinct eyelashes, which he shares with his brother, Sae Itoshi. Rin looks much the same as a child, only his facial features become more distinct as he ages.

Rin grooms himself at the end of each day to improve his physique, and can often be found in the training room doing cardio or strength training. Despite his arrogance and aloofness, Rin truly lives and breathes soccer, dedicating every minute to his improvement. This mentality, combined with his personality, makes him a prime candidate to be the best striker in Blue Lock. Everything Rin does is done to give him the opportunity to defeat his older brother and end the rivalry, but after Rin overcomes his vengeance against his brother and rivalry with his teammates, he achieves clarity in his decisions. He now seeks to free himself from everything that binds him and establish himself as an egotist without relying on his brother, teammates, or rivals.

Personality

As a child, Rin was very innocent and in awe of his brother Sae, wanting nothing more than to become as cool and strong a player as he was. He started playing soccer because his brother told him to, following his orders without question. While they played soccer together, Rin would listen to everything Sae said and adapt accordingly. When Sae left for Spain, Rin found it harder to play soccer without his brother, but aspired to become like him and replace him. This is where Rin's main playing style would begin to change from his instinctive style to a more logical one. Initially, he was a good team player and captain of his school team, and seemed to have good relationships with some of his teammates. However, due to a falling out with his brother, he became cold, abrupt, and overly serious. He is completely focused on soccer, almost to the point of obsession, and is also very selfish, as he always puts his goals above everyone else and their motivations. Rin, as a striker, has a great deal of pride bordering on arrogance, as he often describes soccer and other people's mindsets as "uninteresting" or "mediocre". These mannerisms and behaviors came from his brother; in an attempt to be like his brother, Rin copies his words and embodies his mindset.
