Keitaro possesses the ability to sense spirits and is a spirit magnet due to his spiritual constitution. Before the age of two, he unintentionally subjected himself and a childhood friend to a curse when a spirit entangled itself with him. This gave him the special ability to see spirits in middle school, which resulted in his strong aversion to anything related to the supernatural. He also became afraid of coming into contact with the public and locked himself in his room to prevent the entangled spirit from harming anyone. He eventually recovered with the help of his childhood friend, Eiko, and her relatives and was able to return to a normal lifestyle just a year before the story. Although he is accustomed to being with society, he still becomes stressed when interacting with strangers. He accepted a tutoring position only to discover that his girlfriend's cousin is the student, Hozuki Yayoi. At first sight, he reacts with fear due to Yayoi's strange appearance and the doll in her possession. His fear only worsens when he discovers that she has the same ability to see curses as he does and is dabbling heavily in the occult. However, upon learning from Yayoi that her curse can be exorcised, he resolves to help Yayoi and her cause in the hopes of learning a way to cure her condition.

Personality of Keitaro Gentoga:

Keitaro is a cowardly young man who strongly prefers to keep his life away from anything that is cursed and paranormal, unlike Eiko and her cousin. He experiences panic in several situations, such as when his girlfriend engages in reckless driving or when Yayoi enters the phone booth that is rumored to be haunted by a malevolent spirit. Despite his cowardly nature, Keitaro is shown to be very concerned about the people he cares about and is willing to dive straight into danger for them.

Keitaro Gentoga's powers and abilities:

Spiritual Awareness and Attraction: Keitaro can sense the presence of supernatural beings, and his presence attracts supernatural beings, even Yayoi, who can see supernatural beings, is often ignored. Spiritual Bond: As Keitaro is plagued by the same curse as Eiko on his right hand, he has a unique spiritual bond with Eiko. During the Oiran's recovery, Keitaro was able to establish a spiritual bond with Eiko that allowed her to assist him in sealing the Oiran, despite the two being separated between the near and far shores.

History of Eiko Hozuki.

Eiko loves and supports her boyfriend Keitaro with all her heart, but has a disturbing obsession with him. For example, she once gifted him a pair of stylish glasses that concealed a spy camera to record his conversations and track the people he meets. In addition, she also tracks Keitaro's phone via GPS, ensuring that she always knows his whereabouts. Eiko always shares her joy with Keitaro and is willing to help Keitaro in any way she can. However, this love extends to her disturbing nature as well. Eiko will project her addiction to supernatural phenomena for stimulation onto Keitaro while sporting a sinister smile. She believes him to be a hypocrite whose actions contradict his own fears - not to mention that he only assists her and her cousin in their endeavors out of concern for their safety. She is also not above manipulating Keitaro's compassionate and protective nature to drag him into life-threatening situations due to the belief that he secretly derives pleasure from his own fear, just like her. Her disturbing nature extends to their current situation as well. While Keitaro feels guilt and regret over the curse affecting them both, Eiko sees it as a blessing that binds him to her forever.

Eiko Hozuk's Personality:

Eiko is a kind-hearted young woman who, like her cousin Yayoi, is obsessed with the occult, despite being afraid of it. However, her fear of the supernatural excites her more than anything. In other words, Eiko has phobiaphilia, the irrational love of fear.

Eiko Hozuki's Powers and Abilities

Highly Skilled Hacker: Eiko is a highly skilled hacker, capable of hacking into a police database without being noticed. During the preparation of Operation "Murder the Lord", Eiko was seen hacking into the police database using only a laptop to extract information from police cases.

Story of Yayoi Hozuki

Yayoi is a short girl with purple hair. Her polycoria eyes are red with white pupils each resembling skulls respectfully. Yayoi lived a carefree childhood in a regular family, devoid of any worries, just like any other child. However, Yayoi was born with a special physical and spiritual constitution, where she can see both the material and spiritual worlds. Her eyes manifested double pupils from a young age, where doctors could not discern any problems or illnesses. Since she could not understand what she was experiencing, Yayoi and her family decided to ignore her spiritual constitution, and unbeknownst to her, the divine eyes would lead her to her current situation. Before two years of the present time, Yayoi survived a tragic car accident that was perpetrated by evil spirits. She lost both her parents and witnessed her mother's soul being taken away by evil spirits. Upon being taken to the hospital, she experienced a sudden increase in her IQ and enabled her to understand the special spiritual constitution that she possesses. Since then, she has vowed to save her mother from the evil spirit, Kuubo, that she saw during the accident.

Yayoi Hozuki's Personality

Yayoi is a girl obsessed with the occult, stemming from her desire for revenge against Kuubo for taking her mother's spirit. She will do almost anything to save her mother. This includes using any kind of ghost, even if they are extremely evil. Despite this obsession, she has a strong moral compass. She will punish ghosts who have killed too many people, but will be kind to those who have unintentionally corrupted themselves. She knows that what she is doing is dangerous and will always put the safety of others as her top priority. She loves her friends and family very much and has a strong desire to protect them.

Yayoi Hozuki's Powers and Abilities

Spiritual Vision: Before the Kuubou incident, she could see both the living and the dead, but they overlapped greatly. After the car incident, she was able to see both clearly. Her polycoria eyes can also glow red when she is using her abilities. High IQ: Due to the car accident when she was younger, Yayoi's IQ has gone above 160. Using her newfound intelligence, she is able to quickly analyze and create plans during ghost hunts.
