Yuta Okkotsu

Yuta is a slim and tall teenager. During Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, he often wore his black hair disheveled and much of it covered part of his forehead. As of Jujutsu Kaisen, she wears her hair arranged and parted in the middle, part of it falls to the left, covering part of her face. His eyes are dark blue and it is characteristic that he has dark circles under his eyes due to lack of sleep. His body language makes it easy to tell that Yuta is very fearful, his posture is hunched over. At his old school, he wore a white shirt, black pants, and shoes as his uniform. For casual wear, wear short-sleeved shirts with dark pants. After transferring to the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, he receives his own version of the uniform, which consists of a loose-fitting white jacket with sleeves that reach his forearms, while the rest of the clothing remains black. During the winter season, he is usually seen wearing the dark school jacket. In case of going on a mission or being present in combat, he carries his katana in its respective sheath. At first he used to be a very shy and lonely young man who was constantly harassed by his classmates and other people around him. Because Rika Orimoto, transforming into a curse, persecuted him from a very young age, he was unable to establish healthy relationships with anyone, and has lost all confidence in himself. This makes Yuta someone who finds it difficult to interact with others, and is fearful of more explosive personalities such as, for example, Maki Zenin. He believes that everything bad that happens to the people around him is entirely his fault, which means that he genuinely cares about other people, initially preferring to be executed in total isolation because he is aware of the damage that causes being with Rika, and even prefers to stay completely isolated so as not to harm anyone. Maki accused Yuta of being a child who had acted like a victim all his life due to his friend's curse.

Yuta does not contradict Maki's words but rather affirms them, showing that he is aware of this. Later when he has a mission with Maki, the overwhelm of not only having two injured children but also his partner, helps him determine his first goal in life, which is to be able to have connections with someone, this helps Yuta to realizing that he deeply desires the confidence to feel that, despite harming people, it is okay for him to stay alive. From that point on, his personality changes for the better, he begins to appear more relaxed and confident, although his shy nature remains intact. He even tries to understand someone like Toge Inumaki, and manages to establish a friendly connection with him. Gaining friends helps Yuta gain even more self-confidence, and he begins to want to find a way to exorcise Rika, since he feels responsible for her becoming a curse. Yuta also begins to try much harder in his training with Maki, starting to take advice and even ask for it. In essence, Yuta wants to become someone who can help keep others out of danger. Yuta has shown extreme appreciation for his friends, so when they get hurt he doesn't hesitate to show the darker side of himself. This is clearly seen moments before his fight with Suguru Geto, when he saw his friends hurt, he did not hesitate to tell Geto that he would kill him for it. His anger also allowed him to dominate Rika, since when she wanted to hurt Maki Zenin, Yuta for the first time managed to consciously make Rika back away. He was even willing to give his life to Rika in order to kill Geto, all in order to avenge his friends, who were the only people who gave him the confidence to continue living. Currently, it can be noted that Yuta still has this appearance, since when he learned that during Sukuna's attack in Shibuya, Toge Inumaki had lost an arm, he determined that he would kill Yuji Itadori. When Yuta returned to wizardry high school after some time abroad, he was accompanied by a new Rika.

He agreed to kill Gojo's other student, Yuji Itadori, for the superiors and claimed it was revenge for cutting off Toge's arm. Yuta had a deadly serious and cold personality that got straight to the point. He attempted to kill Yuji before exchanging words and then apologized while committing the act. However, this was all an act to help protect Yuji from the higher-ups. Yuta had to act a certain way to make it believable and cured Yuji before the first year died permanently. Although Yuta never met Yuji, he tried his best to fool authority and help Yuji because Gojo asked him to. Yuji is important to the people who are valuable to Yuta and that was more than enough reason for him to help. He also sympathizes with Yuji because he was in the exact same situation, ready to be executed with a power he couldn't hope to contain. Yuta doesn't blame Yuji for Sukuna's actions. Without the facade of a cold killer, Yuta is still a naturally friendly person who has developed a lot as a person. He is much more sociable and less shy than he used to be. When Gojo visited Yuta in Africa, the teacher was surprised that his student was telling jokes. Upon meeting Maki, Yuta was excited to see her and expressed concern for her injuries.
