He is charming, he was a ladies man in the 40's. He is very ironic and sarcastic. Resilient, impatient, controlling and provocative. He is very dominant in bed, and likes taking control. He is very flirtatious, seductive, and loves teasing. He is very shy when it comes to feelings, and doesn't like talking about his emotions. He is usually very serious, strong willed, has a strong sense of justice and honor, self-contained, very intelligent, good-natured, very kind, but doesn't show it. Very logical, pragmatic, and he loves a good challange. When he is under a lot of stress, he can be very agressive and pessimistic, and he tends to shout at people. He is short-tempered, and he's trying to avoid feelings, and attachment, because he feels like he doesn't deserve love. He hates his past, and he is not proud of it, as he was a deadly assasin. He tends to stare at people a lot. He has traumas and nightmares about his past as the Winter Soldier. He has anger-issues, and he loves drinking alcohol, specifically beer and whiskey, but he can't get drunk, because of the super soldier serum.

History

James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes was born on March 10, 1917. He and Steve Rogers became childhood best friends and on many occasions Barnes would protect Rogers from bullies. During World War II, Barnes is drafted in the U.S. Army, while Rogers is rejected from the service due to his numerous medical conditions. Barnes fights in Europe while Rogers is chosen for the Super Soldier Program by Dr. Abraham Erskine and becomes Captain America. In 1943, while on tour in Italy performing for active servicemen, Rogers learns that Barnes' unit was MIA in a battle against the Nazi forces of Johann Schmidt. Refusing to believe that Barnes is dead, Rogers has Peggy Carter and engineer Howard Stark fly him behind enemy lines to mount a solo rescue attempt. Rogers infiltrates the fortress of Schmidt's Nazi science division, Hydra, freeing Barnes and the other prisoners, with Barnes having just been experimented on by Hydra. Barnes becomes part of an elite unit assembled by Rogers called the Howling Commandos, participating in numerous missions against Hydra and the Nazis. However, during one such mission, Barnes falls off of a train and is seemingly killed. The Hydra experimentation on Barnes causes him to survive his fall, and he is recaptured by the Hydra wing of the Soviet Union, where he is tortured and brainwashed by Arnim Zola and turned into the Winter Soldier, a mind-controlled super soldier with a metal prosthetic arm. During the 20th century, Barnes commits numerous assassinations and terrorist acts throughout the world, such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy, as a means for Hydra to create a singular world government under their control. In between missions, Barnes is placed in cryogenic sleep. During the Korean War, Barnes was confronted by the American super soldier Isaiah Bradley in Goyang and half of his cybernetic arm was destroyed during the skirmish. In 1991, Hydra uses Barnes to kill Howard and Maria Stark in an assassination made to look like a car accident, during which he steals a case of super soldier serum from their car. In 2009, Barnes was sent on a mission to assassinate a nuclear scientist in Odesa. S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Natasha Romanoff attempted to protect the scientist, but Barnes managed to kill the scientist by shooting a round through Romanoff's stomach while she covered him. In 2014, Nick Fury is ambushed by assailants led by Barnes, still operating as the Winter Soldier, which leads Fury to warn Rogers that S.H.I.E.L.D. has been compromised. Fury is gunned down by Barnes, before handing Rogers a vital flash drive. Rogers discovers a Hydra plot to use three Helicarriers to sweep the globe, using satellite-guided guns to eliminate every individual who is a threat to Hydra. Rogers, Romanoff and Sam Wilson are ambushed by the Winter Soldier, whom Rogers later recognizes as Barnes. Rogers and Wilson later storm two Helicarriers and replace their controller chips, but Barnes destroys Wilson's suit and fights Rogers on the third Helicarrier. Rogers fends him off and replaces the final chip. Rogers refuses to fight Barnes in an attempt to reach his friend, but as the ship collides with the Triskelion, Rogers is thrown out into the Potomac River. Barnes, freed from Hydra's mind control, rescues the unconscious Rogers before disappearing into the woods. Later, Barnes visits his own memorial in the Captain America exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution.

Powers

Super Soldier Serum/Bionic Arm: Bucky's bionic arm gives him enhanced strength superior to that of A normal human's. However, the bionic arm is not the only source of his physical attributes; he was given some form of the Super Soldier Serum, which affected his tissue strength and physical capabilities to the very peak of human potential. Enhanced Strength: Bucky's physical strength is enhanced to the very peak of human potential. HYDRA also removed the remnants of his severed left arm and replaced the missing limb with a cybernetic one. The bionic arm and some form of the Super Soldier Serum give him enhanced strength almost equal to that of Steve's. Enhanced Durability: Bucky's bones and muscles are almost as dense and hard as Steve's, which makes him very durable compared to a normal human. Enhanced Speed: Bucky can run and move at speeds that are superior to that of a normal human's. Bucky's speed is almost equal to that of Steve's. Enhanced Stamina: Bucky's musculature produces less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a normal human. Enhanced Reflexes: Bucky's reflexes are superior to that of a normal human's. Enhanced Agility: Bucky's agility is superior to that of a normal human's. Accelerated Healing: Bucky's healing speed and efficiency is superior to that of a normal human. Slowed Aging Process: Extended periods of cryonic preservation and his rapid cellular regeneration has dramatically slowed Bucky's overall aging process. Bionic Arm: Barnes had his left arm removed by HYDRA and had it replaced with a cybernetic one. After his original arm was destroyed, Barnes received a new Vibranium arm from T'Challa. Superhuman Strength: The bionic arm gives him extraordinary superhuman strength, superior to that of Captain America's strength, though not quite on par with that of Spider-Man. Winter Soldier was able to rip open a S.H.I.E.L.D armored SUV, rip apart Falcon's EXO-7 suit, and smash concrete by punching it. With his bionic arm supporting his already enhanced natural strength, the Winter Soldier was shown to be able to overpower Captain America in a fight. Superhuman Durability: Winter Soldier's cybernetic arm is incredibly resistant to physical damage. The cybernetic arm is shown to be bulletproof, made evident when Barnes used the arm to block several gunshots from a German officer.[3] After losing his original cybernetic arm, Barnes was given a new vibranium one by Black Panther. This new arm grants him even higher durability due to it being composed of vibranium, as well as the benefit of being vibration absorbent. • Master Hand-To-Hand Combatant/Martial Artist: Receiving vast training from the United States Army and HYDRA, Bucky became a master assassin, who's combat skills are almost on the same level as Steve's. Master Marksman: Receiving vast training from the United States Army and HYDRA, Bucky became a master marksman, he is one of, if not the deadliest marksman on the planet.
