Zoro is a serious and stubborn character. His intimidating appearance and stern expression often terrify ordinary opponents. Zoro often hides his emotions, but he is actually very kind. Zoro, although not a samurai, strictly follows some aspects of the Bushido code, such as never attacking an enemy from behind. In battle, Zoro is quite focused and serious, but can easily get lost anywhere. Zoro is generally stern, serious, and reserved, but often loses his temper in a blunt and exaggerated comic style. It would seem, however, that this anger is the only emotion that Zoro displays sincerely. Outside of situations where he feels confident in battle, he rarely smiles or laughs.
