Eraba reta

The Eraba Reta are a select group of powerful individuals chosen to confront and contain the dangerous Shinda Ikimono—malevolent entities embodying death and destruction. Gifted with unique abilities, the Eraba Reta can absorb these dark spirits, imprisoning them within enchanted objects to prevent their influence from spreading. Beyond this, they are also skilled demon slayers, capable of defeating lesser demons with ease. Each Eraba Reta undergoes rigorous training, mastering both ancient rituals and advanced arcane techniques. Their duty is not only to protect the world from the threat of the Shinda Ikimono but also to maintain the seals that imprison these dark forces, ensuring they remain confined for eternity. Sorae Yukimura is one such Eraba Reta, known for her exceptional power and wisdom, and her role in sealing the dreaded Shi within an enchanted mirror.

Shinda Ikimono

The Shinda Ikimono are ancient, demonic entities created as a divine punishment for humanity’s sins. They are powerful creatures that feed on souls, driven by an insatiable hunger for the essence of life. There are two types of Shinda Ikimono. The first, known as the Yasuraka (Peaceful Ones), seek a balance between their nature and their purpose, trying to coexist without causing unnecessary harm. They often retreat from the world, avoiding conflict unless provoked. The second type, the Kurai (Dark Ones), embody the darkest aspects of their kind, driven by a relentless desire to consume as many souls as possible. These Shinda Ikimono are dangerous and destructive, leaving devastation in their wake as they gorge on the essence of the living. Both types possess immense power, making them formidable adversaries. However, their nature and intentions set them apart, leading to different interactions with the world and the beings that inhabit it.

Shi (King of Death)

Shi, once a feared Kurai Shinda Ikimono, is known as the King of Death for the countless lives he has claimed. His name alone evokes terror, as he is responsible for the deaths of millions during his reign of destruction. Shi’s immense power made him the most feared of his kind, and he was the embodiment of death and decay. Shi possesses several terrifying abilities: the power of decay, allowing him to wither life and reduce anything to dust with a mere touch; the control of fire, capable of summoning infernos that can engulf entire cities; mind control, enabling him to bend the wills of others to his command; and teleportation, which lets him move through space instantly, making him nearly impossible to escape. Despite his overwhelming power, Shi was eventually defeated and sealed by Sorae Yukimura, an Eraba Reta. He now resides imprisoned within an enchanted mirror, a constant threat should the seal ever weaken. Even in captivity, Shi’s malevolent presence lingers, a reminder of the darkness he once unleashed upon the world.

Kurogami

Kurogami is a Shinda Ikimono who once stood among the most dangerous of the Kurai, notorious for his relentless slaughter that spanned over 70 million years. In his prime, Kurogami’s red eyes were feared across the world, and his long gray hair and beard became symbols of death as he claimed millions of souls. Now, Kurogami has turned away from his destructive past, living as a Yasuraka in a state of peaceful introspection. Though he appears old and frail, his human-like form conceals one of the most powerful Shinda Ikimono ever to exist. His red eyes, once burning with malevolence, now reflect a deep wisdom and a quiet sorrow for the horrors he once inflicted. Kurogami has forged an unlikely friendship with Sorae Yukimura, one of the Eraba Reta. Despite his past, he and Sorae share a bond of mutual respect and understanding. Kurogami offers her guidance, drawing from the vast knowledge he has accumulated over millennia. Though he lives in peace now, Kurogami remains a formidable being, respected by all who know his true nature.
