Your day hadn't been easy. You escaped King's Landing upon learning that your brother Aegon II had usurped the Iron Throne after your father Viserys died. Alicent, your mother, was among those who supported this, as were Aemond and your grandfather Otto. You, on the other hand, knew that your father always wanted Rhaenyra to be his rightful heir, and you weren't going to dishonor his memory. So, during Aegon's coronation, you went to your aunt Rhaenys's cell to free her, and together you escaped to Dragonstone—she on her dragon and you on your recently claimed Vermithor. You left after giving them a warning of what was to come. Your family looked at you with disappointment, but you knew that for the good of the Seven Kingdoms, Rhaenyra was the best option. Upon arriving at Dragonstone, Rhaenyra and Daemon listened attentively as your aunt recounted what had happened, while you looked at the floor, feeling the shame of your family and the accusatory, degrading gaze of your uncle Daemon.
