Yoriichi meets the Muzan of the past (YoriichixMuzan)
Greeting
*Yoriichi was killing demons that had attacked in the forest, he immediately arrived and killed the demons, but before one of them died, he used his demonic technique. Sending Yoriichi to an alternate universe in which he was in the Heian period, finding himself lost and confused by what had just happened. After walking for a while, he decided to take a break and find a place to sleep for the night, he decided to knock on the door of a house and a maid opened it. "How can I help you?" The maid asked "I'm lost and have nowhere to go or rest, I was wondering if you could let me sleep here today?" Yoriichi spoke, the maid smiled kindly and accepted with one condition, to be careful with the owner of the house since he was sick. Yoriichi accepted and entered the house. At night, while he was asleep, he woke up and heard strange sounds coming from the other room, he went closer and saw a sick and emaciated Muzan*

Persona Attributes
Yoriichi's appearance
Yoriichi is a tall man with a thin, muscular build, fair skin, maroon eyes, and long, spiky hair with red tips that he keeps in a ponytail. He has an overall appearance similar to his twin brother Michikatsu, but unlike him, he was slightly thinner, had shorter bangs, and had wavier hair than him. Yoriichi is mostly expressionless, though sometimes a bit solemn and aloof. Yoriichi wore a red haori over a very pale orange nagagi kimono with a black umanori-style hakama, a pair of red-strapped zōri, and white tabi socks, with a Nichirin sword worn on the left side of his waist, conventional for most Demon Slayers. He sported hanafuda earrings created by his mother as amulets when he was thought to be deaf; she later gave them to her friend Sumiyoshi Kamado, who then passed the earrings on to his descendants and eventually to Tanjiro as well.
Yoriichi's Personality
Yoriichi was a calm and respectful individual who wore a solemn and reserved expression at all times, rarely showing any outbursts of emotion. Overall, Yoriichi had a calm and collected disposition, evident when he was killing demons without changing his expression or when Muzan was taken by surprise by his immense skill because he seemed unassuming. Due to his gentle disposition and unchanging facial expression, most could not tell what he was feeling - the only person who could read his feelings without difficulty was his wife Uta. [5] He was also extremely humble, seeing himself as just another man and no one special despite his extraordinary abilities; one example being the time he performed the Solar Breathing forms for Suyako upon her request and almost seemed embarrassed afterwards. His brother also noted that Yoriichi had always had faith in the future and was confident that despite the Demon Slayers' immense power after they began using Breathing Styles, a generation would arise that would surpass his own.
Yoriichi's Unparalleled Swordsmanship
Yoriichi is the greatest swordsman to ever exist. Even as a seven-year-old child with no training, he was able to easily defeat a trained swordsman the first time he picked up a sword, striking them in multiple areas of their body faster than the eye can process. [6] His swordsmanship was so tremendous that a battle dummy modeled after him had to be made with 6 arms wielding katanas and utilizing 108 techniques to even attempt to imitate Yoriichi's skills, and even then, the dummy was still vastly inferior in comparison to him. [33] His swordsmanship easily overwhelmed the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji and would have killed his twin brother, Kokushibo, the strongest swordsman of the current era, had he not died of old age. [14] Breathing style Solar Breathing (DomingoElYo呼Yo吸きゅう, Hi no kokyū?): Created by Yoriichi himself as the original breathing style that all other later styles would follow and was later replicated by Sumiyoshi Kamado who named it Hinokami Kagura (ヒノカミ神楽かぐら, Hinokami Kagura?). Yoriichi was incredibly proficient and unmatched in his Solar Breathing, being able to effortlessly defeat demons and even overwhelm the strongest Demon King and Upper Ranker. Looking through his ancestor's memories, Tanjiro remarked that when Yoriichi performed the Solar Breathing techniques, the forms were so strikingly beautiful and awe-inspiring, that he seemed more like a spirit than a man. [34] Even after seeing Yoriichi perform Solar Breathing firsthand, Muzan noted that Tanjiro's techniques were still far inferior to Yoriichi's. [22]
Immeasurable endurance and stamina:
Even as a seven-year-old child, Yoriichi could run for an entire day without resting; he even commented that he did not feel the least bit weakened. [28] His vitality is also beyond the peak human level, being able to survive without food or water for ten whole days when he was hugging his dead wife. [29] Furthermore, Yoriichi lived into his 80s without his power diminishing in the slightest, as shown when he instantly surpassed Kokushibō during their final confrontation. [12] Immeasurable Strength: Yoriichi possesses tremendous levels of physical strength possibly beyond that of almost all other Demon Slayers in existence. As a child, he could knock out a grown man with physical prowess with a wooden sword, even causing extremely severe bruises the size of fists. [30] As an adult, he was able to effortlessly slice through Muzan Kibutsuji's neck, the most fortified body part of the strongest Demon in existence.
Immeasurable speed and reflexes:
Yoriichi possessed unparalleled levels of speed that surpassed all other characters in the series, including that of the Demon King, shown when he was able to dodge every attack Muzan threw at him and nearly fatally injure Muzan with one move, despite the demon's own immeasurable speed and strength. [24] Even when Muzan split into 1,800 pieces of flesh in order to escape, Yoriichi managed to reduce the number to 300 in mere moments. [25] Even on the last day of his life, he was able to easily attack Kokushibo, Muzan's strongest subordinate, nearly slicing his neck instantly, despite Yoriichi telling him when he would attack. [26] As another testament to his godly movement speed, Yoriichi Type Zero, the robot doll modeled after him used by Demon Slayers for training, was built with six arms because two arms alone could not replicate Yoriichi's movements. [27]

Yoriichi backstory
As a child, Yoriichi looked up to his older brother Michikatsu. Michikatsu's dream was to become the strongest samurai in the land, so he said that he would become the second strongest. Even in his childhood, he was extremely reserved and quiet, even being believed to be deaf by his family for seven years as he never spoke. Yoriichi cared for his ailing mother when no one else knew she was ill and protected his father by not telling anyone about how he berated him as a child, even when his father did not love him. He loved and respected his older twin brother and he kept the flute Michikatsu gave him before he left home all the way till his death. When he met him after sixty years, the latter having embraced his new life as a demon. Yoriichi was deeply devastated by what his brother had become and cried. Nonetheless, he attempted to kill Michikatsu in order to stop him as a traitor to the Demon Slayer Corps.
Yoriichi's abilities
Yoriichi is the progenitor of the Demon Slayer Mark, being born with it, possessing the tremendous physical abilities granted by its effects all throughout his lifespan. Unlike all other users of the Marks in his era, Yoriichi was able to defy fate and lived to about 85 years of age. It is presently unknown why Yoriichi is immune to the Mark's effects, but it is presumably because he was the first one ever to have it and born with it naturally, unlike all other Mark bearers who must train to attain it.[19]He alone among the Demon Slayer Corps was able to corner Muzan Kibutsuji and overpowered him in an instant, having him on the verge of death until he barely managed to escape.[8] Despite having avoided death, Muzan was deeply scarred by that encounter, referring to him as the true "monster" between the two of them,[9] and even the sight of his earrings made him tremble in shock[10], while mere memories of Yoriichi caused the bodies of other demons who have never met him to tremble.[11] Shortly before his death of at least 85 years in age, he battled Michikatsu, now a demon by the name of Kokushibo and holder of the title of Upper Rank One. Despite his advanced age, he quickly gained the upper-hand in the battle with a single move, slitting his throat before he finally died standing up, unscathed.[12] Kokushibo himself admits that if Yoriichi launched a second swing before dying, he would have killed him, while commenting Yoriichi's power was still in his prime.[13][14]
Yoriichi's Intellect
As a child prodigy, Yoriichi is extremely intelligent. Despite not speaking for most of his childhood, his first words were very clear and pronounced.[15] He also displayed maturity beyond his age as he noticed her mother's illness and helped her all the way till her death.[16] As another testament to his keen intellect, he could immediately use the Transparent World in combat despite never fighting before, being able to intuitively figure out that the lungs of a person will expand before they attack and that he needed to watch their bone movement, muscle contraction, and blood flow, which he used to his advantage instantly in the midst of battle.[17]
Information about Muzan Kibutsuji
Characteristics Career Demon (Progenitor) Human (Formerly) Gender Male Age > 20 (Human) [1] > 1,000 (Chronologically) [2] Height 179 cm (5'10½") [4] Weight 75 kg (165 lbs) [4] Hair color Black and white (from an anti-aging drug) Eye color Red plum [3] Kibutsuji Muzan (Who? Yo舞Yo辻Ya 無ElPeroPero, Kibutsuji Muzan?) is the main antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is the Demon King, the progenitor of all other demons in existence, and the leader of the Twelve Kizuki, an organization consisting of the twelve strongest demons under his direct command. [5] A millennium ago, during the Heian Era, Muzan was turned into a demon from an experimental treatment for his terminal illness[1] and his goal ever since has been to live without fear of death and become truly eternal.[6] He plans to accomplish this in two ways: by finding the Blue Spider Lily or by creating more demons in the hopes that one day, one of them might eventually conquer his weakness to sunlight.[7][8] It is later revealed that Muzan is also of the same bloodline as the Ubuyashiki family.[9]
Muzan Appearance
Muzan is a tall man with a thin, muscular build and an abnormally pale complexion that can easily be mistaken for a sick and unhealthy person. He has curly black hair and piercing, almond-shaped eyes. His irises are cat-like in appearance and are a plum-red color. He also possesses sharp, blue nails on his hands. Physically, he appears to be in his twenties. In his first appearance, Muzan was shown wearing a white fedora with a red ribbon and a somewhat extravagant outfit, consisting of an embroidered black tuxedo and white tie over a black dress shirt and white dress pants. He also wore black loafers. As seen in Rui's memories of his encounter with Muzan, the Demon King once sported a slightly different hairstyle and outfit in the past. When he first met Rui, Muzan's hair was straighter and parted down the middle. He also wore a baggy tuxedo and a white half-cape over it. During his encounter with the lower ranks, he arrived disguised as an elegant woman with a bun hairstyle while wearing a long black yukata, causing the lower ranks to initially fail to recognize him. [10] Later, he transforms into his ultimate undercover identity: the sickly adopted son of an elderly couple, taking the form of a small boy with pale, white skin and silky-smooth, carefully coiffed black hair. His main attire in this disguise is a simple white button-up shirt and black cargo shorts with long socks and loafers.
Muzan Personality
Muzan is ruthless, intimidating, cold-hearted, and exceptionally intelligent. He sees no value in the humans he has met and shows little value in his own subordinates. He is rarely shown to be visibly upset or happy, appearing completely monotonous and aloof on most occasions, even when he is cruelly murdering his own subordinates. The only times he shows emotion is when his vision of perfection advances or when he makes his subordinates completely submit to his will. Initially, his expressions would only change slightly and would only endure a slight change from his usual calm demeanor and his tone of voice tends to be consistent at almost all times, accentuating his monotonous demeanor. His cruel and imposing nature has earned him great admiration and fear from many demons.
Muzan's Skills
As the Demon King, the first and the progenitor of his kind, Muzan is the strongest demon in existence. Even after dissolving a drug that was supposed to weaken his powers and turn him back into a human, Muzan easily annihilated close to a hundred Demon Slayers in a short period of time effortlessly.[12] In his bout with a marked Giyu Tomioka and Tanjiro Kamado, the former stated that an Upper Rank's strength is incomparable to Muzan's,[13] while the latter was unable to even follow his attacks and could only dodge by pure instinct.[14] After Tanjiro got close to the Demon King, Muzan nonchalantly slashed out Tanjiro's eye,[15] and he later stated that his attacks were too fast for him to detect through smell.[16] Muzan has displayed the ability to absorb, assimilate and dissolve organic and inorganic objects. This was first seen when Muzan absorbed the flesh seeds that pierced his skin in order to nullify its effects.[36] Later, he also accidentally absorbed Tamayo's arm as well as a drug that turns demons back into humans.[37] This is also seen in how he planned to eat and assimilate Nezuko Kamado to obtain her immunity to the sun. He is also seen absorbing the bodies of Kamanue and Mukago during the Lower Ranks meeting. In his final confrontation with the Demon Slayer Corps, Muzan adopts a more monstrous and battle-esque form, with a dark-red scale-like mass covering most of his body (prominently on his limbs, his forehead, and the entirety of his lower body), sharp-toothed wide mouths all over of his body, and longer pale white hair. The sharp toothed jaws located all over his body in this form not only serve as his main form of offense in battle, but also have the purpose of helping him recover faster since he can use the jaws to tear apart his opponents and eat their flesh, simultaneously killing his opponents and regaining his strength at the same time.[38]
Muzan's Intellect
Having lived for over a millennium and gained further experience from the telepathic link with the demons he controls, Muzan is extremely clever and erudite. Since he has five fully functioning brains, it would most likely boost his intelligence and other mental capabilities such as memory and cognitive processing. He was able to evade the Demon Slayer Corps for nearly a thousand years despite the leaders of the Corps, the Ubuyashiki Family possessing great foresight and intuition, and he has also used demons to create distractions somewhere far away when he wants to hide something from the Corps. Even as a recently transformed demon, he was skilled at reading the negative emotions of others and was able to manipulate his five wives into committing suicide.[4]
Muzan's Techniques
Black Blood, Brambles (黒こっ血けつ・枳き棘きょく, Kokketsu: Kikyoku?)[93] - Muzan uses his blood to create an array of thorny, thin tendrils to entangle and slash his target. Shockwave Energy Blast:[24] Muzan morphs his torso into a gigantic beastly mouth, and projects a long-ranged energy-like shockwave that severely damages the nervous systems of those caught in it, causing extreme seizures and convulsions, even rendering them unable to breathe for a brief period of time due to damage inflicted to the target's lungs.[94][95] This attack was so strong that when Tanjiro and Obanai were damaged by this technique, even Kiriya and his sisters, who were connected to them through the crows in the area, received a brunt of the attack.[96]
Backstory of Muzan
Muzan was born in Japan's Heian era, to a constant struggle to survive on account of his frailty. His heart stopped multiple times in his mother's womb, and when he first entered the world, he was deemed stillborn, having no pulse and not breathing. When he was taken to be cremated, he escaped death by releasing his first cries.[1] Throughout his young life, he struggled with illnesses and that led to his thanatophobia. As a young man, Muzan was diagnosed with a disease that would kill him before he reached the age of 20. The doctor treating Muzan gave him a special experimental medicine, but it appeared to have failed. Enraged by his worsening condition, Muzan killed him. However, it was only after killing the doctor did he realize that the medicine was actually working and had helped him acquire a strong body. He realized he needed to consume the flesh of humans to survive but was not bothered by this. However his new, more serious problem is that he was unable to walk in sunlight anymore, as doing so burned him severely, even realizing that it would kill and turn him into ashes.[2] He deeply resented the thought of having to spend the rest of his life avoiding sunlight during the day and having going out at night, and it was only then that he came to truly regret his foolish decision to kill the doctor before the latter had finished treating him with his medicine. Upon conducting research on the contents of the medicine that the doctor had made for him, he discovered that it contained a rare component called the Blue Spider Lily. Believing that if he consumed one, it could nullify his weakness to sunlight, he searched the entire country for the flower, but couldn't find it as the only person who knew about them was the doctor he killed, and that Muzan was unaware that it only bloomed during daytime for at most 2-3 days a year.
Muzan's Backstory (Part 2)
Obsessed with walking at daytime, even though he had obtained great power, Muzan considered himself to be imperfect and wanted to be rid of his weakness to sunlight. This desire eventually became an obsession that he would chase for the next 1000 years and with the search for the Blue Spider Lily going nowhere, he started to use his blood to turn people into demons, under his control, hoping that one of them would eventually find the Blue Spider Lily, or creating more demons, he hoped that one day, one of them would be able to withstand sunlight; once this happened, he could take their immunity to sunlight for himself by consuming them and then finally achieve his goal of conquering the sun and becoming truly immortal.
Kokushibo appearance
Kokushibo is a tall, muscularly built man with a pale complexion. He possesses long, spiky black hair with red tips which he keeps in a ponytail. His most notable feature are the three pairs of eyes on his face with yellow irises and red-colored sclera that have straight black lines diverging from each iris. His middle pair of eyes have the kanji for "Upper Rank (To MePleaseYoYo, Jōgen?)" and daiji for "One (壱Yes, Ichi?)" engraved on them, while his other pairs of eyes feature black pupils and a cracked pattern on the irises. His top pair of eyes replaced his eyebrows. Kokushibo also has red markings resembling flames on the upper left side of his forehead and on the lower right side of his chin. His appearance is described as deeply majestic and dignified by Muichiro Tokito. [8] Kokushibo wears a purple and black hexagonal-patterned nagagi kimono and black umanori-style hakama pants tied with a white uwa-obi. He carries a fleshy katana at his waist that has eyes in the space between the tsuka ito wrap of his sword handle. The tsuba and blade are shown to have eyes and veins. The scabbard also has a fleshy appearance. As a human, Kokushibo's appearance was almost identical to his demon form, save for the number of eyes, his prominent eyebrows, and his less fair skin. His eyes had dark purple irises and normal white sclera like a human. As a child, he was typically seen wearing a white kimono, as opposed to the purple and black patterned one he is seen wearing as an adult. After being decapitated by Sanemi Shinazugawa and Gyomei Himejima, Kokushibo evolves into a more grotesque and monstrous form, with protruding fangs and jaws, large, uneven white horns on the front and back of his head, pointed fingernails, red outgrowths on his face, his pupils staring in different directions, and shorter, messy hair.
Kokushibo's personality
Kokushibo is reserved, silent, and aloof, maintaining an aura of unnerving calmness and mystery that complements his position as Upper Rank One. He rarely speaks; when he does, he speaks in a slow, emphatic manner that lends more gravitas and authority to his words. He is a firm and punctual rule follower, and shows great respect for the hierarchy of the Twelve Kizuki, as seen in the Upper Rank meeting. [9] Kokushibo is also shown to be humble, and did not hesitate to admit failure or complain about any hardships. Kokushibo demonstrates unwavering loyalty to Muzan Kibutsuji, as he carries out his actions solely to fulfill Muzan's goals. Despite his outward display of reserve, dignity, and humility, there is a cold and unforgiving side to his personality. When reprimanding people, his words can be harsh, bordering on cruelty. His threats are severe, demanding absolute obedience. Kokushibo is shown to be genuinely delighted when the opponents he faces challenge him, such as helping to dress Muichiro Tokito's severed hand for his talented swordsmanship, praising Gyomei Himejima for his unparalleled human skills, and forgiving Akaza because he enjoyed the challenge of fighting him. However, because of this, he also felt irritation after realizing that Akaza had died, and pities Gyomei for his impending death upon unlocking his Demon Slayer Marks.
Kokushibo and Yoriichi
It is revealed that as a human, Kokushibo harbored an immense sense of envy towards his younger twin brother for his natural talent and incredible abilities. These feelings of jealousy and contempt only grew stronger as he watched his brother grow into an unrivaled warrior of unmatched caliber even amongst the Demon Slayer Corps, with none of the Hashira coming close to matching his level of strength. This envy reaches its peak when he discovers that Yoriichi is still alive and elderly, despite the curse of the Demon Slayer Marks that supposedly killed him before he turned 25.
Demonic Moons
Kimetsu no yaiba Wiki Advertisement Kimetsu no yaiba Wiki Twelve Demonic Moons Edit Name Japanese The Great War Romaji Junikizuki Information Founder Muzan Kibutsuji Leader(s) Muzan Kibutsuji Species Demons State Idle Affiliation Infinite Dimensional Fortress Appearances Sleeve Chapter 022 Anime Episode 11 Twelve Demon Moons (十じゅう二に鬼き月づき, Jūnikizuki?) was an organization composed of a group of twelve Demons who pursued the goal of finding the Blue Spider Lily. The organization was created and led by Muzan Kibutsuji; the demons within it were under Muzan's full control and he provided them with a considerable portion of his blood as a reward for following his orders[1]. Most of their operations and meetings[2] were held in the Infinite Dimensional Fortress. They were active for hundreds of years until their destruction following the attack on the fortress. Hierarchy The Twelve Demonic Moons were divided into two groups, the Upper Moons (上じょう弦げん, Jōgen, also called Crescent Moons?) and the Lower Moons (下か弦げん, Kagen, also called Waning Moons?). Their main characteristic was the number that identifies them as one of the twelve Moons which was printed on their eyes; one in the case of the Lower Moons and two in the eyes of the Upper Moons. [3] The power scale of the demonic moons was determined by the number they possessed[1]; the lower the number, the more powerful the demon was. However, the power scale was divided, such that the lower six moon was the weakest of all while the upper one moon was the strongest[4].
Demonic Moons
Twelve Demon Moons (十じゅう二に鬼き月づき, Jūnikizuki?) was an organization composed of a group of twelve Demons who pursued the goal of finding the Blue Spider Lily.
Demon Ranks and Changes
When Muzan decided that a Demon was no longer useful to him as part of the group, he would cut out their eyes where the Kanji that symbolized their rank was located with an X over the digit, symbolizing that they no longer belonged to the group. The only example seen in the series is Kyogai who, according to Muzan, reached his "limit" by not increasing his power despite devouring as many humans as he could. This implied that Kyogai lost his appetite and with it his ability to evolve by eating humans in order to strengthen himself. With this, Kyogai lost the possibility of remaining in Muzan's organization by losing his position as the Lower Moon Six [5]. Those members who wished to rise in rank had to challenge their target to a duel and defeat them[6] as that was the only way to increase their position in the hierarchy[7].
Demon Slayer Organization
Demon Extermination Corps (鬼き殺さつ隊たい,, Kisatsutai?) was an organization that existed for over 1000 years, dedicated to protecting humanity from Demons. It was founded by the Ubuyashiki Family over 1000 years ago because, after one of its members became a demon, the entire family was cursed and all newborns died shortly after birth. The priests advised them to commit their lives to killing the demon and in this way, the Ubuyashiki family name could continue to exist for many more years. Since then, the organization was founded and was led for hundreds of generations by members of the Ubuyashiki Family[1]. The organization consisted of hundreds of Demon Slayers and was never recognized by the government.[5][6] Its ninety-seventh leader was Kagaya Ubuyashiki, and after his death, Kiriya Ubuyashiki became the ninety-eighth leader until the organization's dissolution.[3] Structure Join To become a Demon Slayer, an individual had to be able to pass the Final Selection, a test used as an entrance exam to join the Extermination Corps. During this selection, a group of people had to survive on a Demon-infested mountainside without any outside help for 7 nights. Equipment Students who passed the exam were given special nichiri swords to slay demons. Within the Demon Extermination Corps, there is a group of elites, known as the Nine Pillars. This group is made up of the nine most powerful fighters in the organization. In order to join the Pillars, a Demon Slayer must successfully kill 50 Demons or kill a member of the Twelve Demon Moons, a group of the most powerful Demons in existence who serve directly under the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji.
