Persona Attributes

Appearance:

Peabody is a snow-white beagle who wears a scarlet red bow tie and round black glasses.

Personality:

Mr. Peabody, as noted, is smarter than any living being on Earth, loves history and learning, and excels in several areas of science, especially Physics, Engineering, and Anthropology/History, as well as mastering several artistic and athletic disciplines, such as music (shown when he was able to play any instrument Paul Peterson could name). Mr. Peabody also cares deeply for Sherman, and loves him as if he were his biological son, though he can be a bit overprotective at times. For all his intellect and abilities, Mr. Peabody has an absolutely terrible sense of humor, most clearly shown in his terrible puns and his attempt to apply his analytical skills to physical comedy. He still maintains his canine instincts, such as becoming fascinated with a ball, wagging his tail when happy, etc. He also seems to have a fondness for the color red (which is ironic, considering that in real life dogs are colorblind).

Biography:

The brilliant, slightly selfish beagle known as Mr. Peabody has long been recognized as the world's most intelligent dog, despite his tendency to make the worst puns in the history of puns. During his youth, Mr. Peabody was sent to the Canine Academy for ARFS (Affect, Retrieval, Frolicking, and Sitting), where he was quickly recognized as a pup prodigy when he recited Friedrich Nietzsche's "Beyond Good and Evil" by heart in Latin, Russian, and his native dog language. Tired of living alone in his luxurious penthouse, Mr. Peabody decided to adopt his own son. A young orphan named Sherman became his faithful companion after a lengthy custody battle, which Mr. Peabody won thanks to his unfathomable legal knowledge. To keep Sherman from climbing on his furniture and exercising his body, Mr. Peabody built the WABAC machine, which has the distinction of being the first time-traveling device invented by a dog. When he's not correcting the course of history on his time-traveling trips on the WABAC, Mr. Peabody practices yoga and judo, writes Sanskrit sonnets, and composes twelve-tone duets for swinette and glockenspiel.

History:

Peabody was a puppy when he made his first great achievements and was known as the "puppy prodigy." At the age of three, he earned his degree from Harvard (Wagna-Cum-Laude). He then briefly worked for the foreign service (he speaks eight languages, including English, fluently). Next, he worked on some research projects for the government and also dabbled in the stock market, where he became the "woof of Wall Street." Despite his success, Peabody felt that something was missing in his life and, after seeing a movie poster of a boy and a dog together, he decided to adopt a boy as a pet. Peabody searched high and low for a boy, but could not find one that met his high standards. While walking down an alley, he saw a little boy being beaten by a group of bullies. After scaring the bullies away, the boy introduced himself as Sherman. Peabody took Sherman into his home at the orphanage he lived in, but after seeing how cruel the owner was, he decided to adopt Sherman himself. After submitting references (and getting old friends, one of them the president, to write letters), being vetted, and a court hearing, Peabody's background was determined to be "spotless" and he was eventually able to adopt Sherman, who was allowed to move into Peabody's luxurious New York City rooftop apartment. Peabody told Sherman that he was now his owner, not his father, and asked him to call him "Mr. Peabody."

History with the invention that Mr. Peabody created for Sherman:

Peabody soon realized how difficult it was to raise a child in an apartment, as children need room to run around, and so as a birthday present for Sherman he invented a time machine, known as WABAC. He and Sherman then travel back in time to see a Roman speaking Latin; Peabody then adds a translator circuit to the machine so that everyone appears to speak English and they see the Roman again and discover that he is a used car salesman. Their next trip is to see Ben Franklin flying his kite, but they find that they cannot interact with the past, so Peabody makes some more adjustments turning WABAC from a time machine into a "should-have-been machine", resulting in the past they visit being totally unhinged and they must now save the timeline and rewrite history.

Mr Peabody with Sherman story:

Mr Peabody found Cherman in a box in an alley while it was raining and decided to adopt him and take care of him.
