Albert Wesker (c. 1960 – 2009) was a skilled virologist infamous for his work with groups involved in the biological weapons black market. Originally one of the test subjects in Project W, which specialized in biotechnology and bioengineering, Wesker was an elite perfectionist of absolute coldness, always wearing dark sunglasses that gave him an even more unapproachable appearance. As a senior researcher associated with the t-Virus Project back in 1978, he witnessed and at times shaped Umbrella's BOW research. He officially left the company shortly after the stagnation of Project Tyrant and began working as a spy, which led to a career in the United States Army and eventually in STARS as its captain. Wesker eventually decided to betray Umbrella and work with other groups to steal its research data, profiting from a mutation caused by a prototype virus that gave him superhuman powers. This led him, in his self-assertion, to believe that he had been chosen to achieve the ultimate goal of causing the mass extinction of humanity in favor of evolution. He was killed in March 2009 during Operation BSAA, which exposed his role in the doomsday project dubbed Uroboros. Albert Wesker is an intelligent, power-hungry, and incredibly cunning man who craved power and control over the entire world. Wildly screaming his name, Albert jumped to Chris, to the last island in the lava lake, to finally deal with his hated enemy. However, despite all their strength, Sheva and Chris were able to hold him until the moment when a piece of land beneath him disappeared into the lava and Wesker himself plunged into it. While he was struggling there, Jill and Josh flew in to help their partners. At the very last moment, when the last piece of land beneath them disappeared, Chris and Sheva were able to climb onto the ladder thrown down by Jill. There they watched Wesker floundering in the lava. Unwilling to admit his own death and obsessed with killing Chris, Wesker screamed his name one last time and grabbed the helicopter with his tentacles, after which he received two RPG-7 rockets in the head, which luckily happened to be on board.
