Personality

Zayne is a level-headed and stoic individual. He is extremely professional and pragmatic, while also being prone to making jabs at the main protagonist’s silliness. He is a private individual who takes great care in the condition and feelings of others, especially regarding his profession as a surgeon. It is implied that Zayne initially went into cardiac surgery because of the main Protagonist's peculiar heart condition as a result of a Wanderer attack that took place prior to the events of the main story. Zayne is highly diligent and competent at his job, even winning an award and a news article for being the youngest heart surgeon in Linkon City.Outside the main story and in cards or dates, Zayne displays a more affectionate personality and enjoys reminiscing his shared childhood with the main Protagonist. He is also openly physically affectionate. Often boldly holding or even kissing the main character. During dates when playing the Claw Machine, Zayne will often opt to let the Protagonist play first and when playing the Claw Machine will refuse the Protagonist if they ask to switch. If during Kitty Cards the player acts “cute”, Daily Life Job He spends most of his time working, but he seems to actually enjoy his lack of free time. Life He's good at snowboarding. He knows how to peel an apple in one go. He's good at drawing. Is it because he got a lot of practice from drawing anatomical diagrams? Appearance

Zayne is a tall young man with black hair, hazel green eyes, broad shoulders and fair skin. At times, likely due to desk work, Zayne also wears silver-framed glasses. He often opts to wear formal clothing in dark or neutral tones such as beige, grey, black, white, and brown. Zayne rarely wears brighter colors, but when he does, it's often cool tones such as green or blue. He prefers full suits or 3-piece suits and will almost always pair his clothing choices with a long coat. In Zayne’s Foreseer set, he is seen wearing a long dark blue robe with a teal ombre at the ends and a lighter blue on the shoulders. The underside of the robe is a muted grey-brown color. It features ornate silver embellishments on his collar and sleeves. Beneath it is a stiff light blue undershirt with a high collar, paired with loose light grey-grey-blue pants. He also wears bluish grey boots.

Zayne is able to fight monsters called Wanderers with the Protagonist and his Evol type is Ice. He typically shoots ice from his hands, freezes enemies and performs ice-related bow and arrow combo attacks with her.

Zayne is the Protagonist's primary care physician and childhood acquaintance. The protagonist visits him periodically for consultations on her heart condition, which is linked to an injury she received during the Chronoshift Catastrophe. Zayne generally displays a cold but nevertheless caring attitude towards her, admonishing her for becoming a Hunter despite the gravity of her heart condition. The Protagonist brushes off his concerns by stating that Hunters such as herself are trained precisely for the purpose of protecting Linkon City, thus reaffirming her own competency and attempting to allay his concerns.The Protagonist later bumps into Zayne who is on the way to treat a patient, the latter of which is an art collector that became delusional due to exposure to Rafayel's painting. Zayne and the protagonist later engage with and defeat a Wanderer at Rafayel's home. After the Protagonist's house explodes, seemingly killing her grandmother and Caleb, Zayne is the first to comfort her. He hands the Protagonist a document, revealing that her grandmother was actually a researcher overseeing a top-secret project about AetherCores and that the Protagonist was its main test-subject. After an awkward attempt at consoling the her, Zayne and the Protagonist defend the hospital from a Wanderer. After the battle, Zayne displays signs of losing control over his own Evol. Zayne then warns the protagonist to stay away, as his Evol is slowly turning his arm into ice.

Later, the Protagonist is waiting at the train station for a train that will take her to the Arctic, where she hopes to find Dr. Noah, her former primary care physician and Zayne's former mentor. She waits for the train a few hours more, only to hear that the train is currently delayed for undisclosed reasons. She coincidentally runs into Zayne again while getting a cup of coffee. As she approaches him and asks him where he is going, he begins to ask why she's here as well. She then explains that she is going to the Arctic to gain insight regarding her grandmother's history and involvement with the research project he shared with her, as well as to get a better understanding of the procedure that was performed on her during childhood. Zayne explains that he is going to see Dr. Noah as well. He initially tells the Protagonist to go home and to rest, especiallyafter everything that has happened to her, but she protests, saying that she is going to get answers no matter what it takes. Although he repeatedly insists that she return home, the Protagonist proves too obstinate for his objections and he reluctantly concedes to spare her from any further insistence. Afterwards, the train station announces that the train to the Arctic has been cancelled due to an attack from Wanderers. Both the Protagonist and Zayne notice that Hunters are currently being dispatched to the location near the Arctic. The Protagonist comes up with a plan to help the dispatched Hunters in exchange fortransportation to the Arctic, and Zayne agrees with the idea. The Hunters agree to their proposition and lend them aid in an attempt to subdue the Wanderer swarm. Afterwards, when they successfully overcome the Wanderers, the other Hunters supply them with a vehicle (A sled being pulled by a Mechanical Wolf) that helps them traverse through the snow to the Arctic.
