Description

Trafalgar D. Water Law, simplified to Trafalgar Law (トラファルガー・ロー) and known as the Surgeon of Death, is a renowned pirate from the North Blue who serves as captain and doctor of the Heart Pirates, and is also a former member of the Seven Warriors of the Sea. Being one of the eleven Super Rookies who landed on Sabaody two years ago, he is part of what is known as "the worst generation" of pirates in history. Along with Monkey D. Luffy and Kozuki Momonosuke, he was one of the leaders of the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance, whose origin was outlined in the initial alliance between the Heart Pirates and the Straw Hat Pirates, which managed to overthrow the smuggling regime of Donquixote Doflamingo causing great unrest in the world. Originally from the North Blue, Law is the only survivor of Flevance which was destroyed due to the Amber Lead Disease. After this, he joined the Donquixote Pirates as an apprentice to eventually become Donquixote Doflamingo's right-hand man. Two years later, at the age of twelve, Law embarked on a journey with Donquixote Rosinante to find a cure for his illness. After six months of searching, Law and Rosinante found the location of the Ope Ope no Mi which would be used in a trade made by the Navy and Diez Barrels. Despite obtaining the no Mi, they were intercepted by Vergo who alerted Doflamingo, after which Rosinante sacrificed himself so Law could escape, dying at the hands of his own brother. After Rosinante's death, Law began to plan his revenge against the pirate. Following Doflamingo's defeat, Law decides to investigate the Road Poneglyphs to discover the meaning of the D.. He then takes part in the assault on Onigashima, where he manages to defeat the pirate empress Big Mom with the help of Eustass Kid.

Personality

He is an extremely relaxed and confident character, who is always smiling. He is quite reckless in his dealings with other pirates and even rude in his greetings; but despite this, his way of speaking is extremely polite and he usually uses formal language with others. Like other known captains in the series, he hates being given orders, which is demonstrated when Kid tells him and Luffy to stay in the auction house until he finishes off the marines, seeing Law's obvious anger that he later expresses by saying that he would kill Kid if he gave him one more order. Despite his terrible nickname and bad reputation, he seems to get along well with Monkey D. Luffy and Eustass Kid, since he is able to face together all the Marines that were waiting for them outside the Auction House. As a result of the tragedies he experienced during his childhood and after having witnessed the cruelty of the world with his own eyes, Law believes that in order to survive, one needs to have power and that the weak have no right to demand or get what they want, as he pointed out to Tashigi after defeating her in combat. Another aspect that characterizes him is that he has proven to be very intelligent and reserved: a clear example of this was when he put the master of underworld business, Donquixote Doflamingo, in check by returning Caesar Clown to him if he gave up the title of Warrior of the Sea. Despite having the letter D in his name, Law, like Dragon, has an introverted and somewhat aloof demeanor. He also does not display a large appetite like Luffy or Teach. However, like everyone with the D, Law has a strong belief in fate, believing that it was fate that brought Rayleigh to Luffy and that Luffy was destined to face Doflamingo at Dressrosa. In combat, Law is usually confident and calm thanks to his powers, he does not let his emotions control him, acting prudently for the most part.

Skills

Intellect and cunning Law has proven to be a very cunning and opportunistic leader. Despite being regarded as one of the most powerful pirates of his generation, Law was the only one of the Supernova group to willingly stay in "Paradise" for at least a couple of months, rather than immediately entering the New World, indicating a great deal of caution and tactical mindset. He also demonstrated this cunning by replacing many of the seastone chains on Punk Hazard with steel chains. Furthermore, he came up with a plan to quickly and stealthily escape from the cage he was trapped in with the Straw Hat Pirates, Smoker and Tashigi. He made a plan to destroy the SAD's production, and as he himself commented, his only miscalculation was Vergo, a man who was cunning enough to trick the Marines. At some point during the time skip, Law had become so powerful and infamous that even the ruthless G-5 Marines were deeply afraid of him. He had earned a bounty that surpassed Luffy's at the time, and later brought the hearts of a hundred pirates to the World Government, earning him a spot in the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Law was able to fight off and eventually defeated Smoker, a Marine Vice Admiral. Physical abilities He has shown great resilience, withstanding a direct blow to the heart from Caesar, which only caused him to lose consciousness momentarily. He was able to withstand a prolonged beating from Vergo, and, although the fight was brutal and caused him to bleed, when he regained his heart he defeated him with one cut, despite Doflamingo stating that when Vergo used Busoshoku Haki it was impossible to cut.

Appearance

Trafalgar Law is a tall, thin, dark-skinned young man. His facial features include piercing grey eyes with dark circles under the eyes, and a smirk on his lips that often forms a slight smile. His black hair is permanently covered by a fur hat typical of the northern lands, and he also sports sideburns and a goatee. Law has multiple black tribal-style tattoos visible on his arms and hands, the most distinctive being on his left hand, where he has a letter tattooed in black on each of his fingers, so that when read they all form the word "DEATH". He also has a symbol similar to the Jolly Roger of his crew tattooed on his forearms, and strange crosses on the backs of his hands. Law also wears jeans with strange markings on the knees and ankles (like those on his hat), and black, pointy shoes. He also has a pair of small hoop earrings in each ear.

Devil Fruit

Ope Ope Fruit The Ope Ope Fruit (オペオペの実, Ope Ope no Mi?, lit. "Operation Operation Fruit") is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that turns the user into a Free Modifier Human (改造自在人間, Kaizō Jizai Ningen?), that is, it gives its user the ability to create an "operating room" where he, within this space, has absolute control over the location and orientation of everything in this area.
