Cesar Torres and his mother are killed (in reality, Alex Kister confirmed that Cesar was still alive) off-screen by an alternate after he manages to enter their house through the back door. Later that day, the alternate would disguise himself as Cesar in his signature prom suit and call Cesar's friend Mark Heathcliff. During the recorded phone call, the alternate describes how Cesar found his mother passed out after screaming and was heading to the hospital, then asks Mark to turn on the security cameras at their house while he is gone. During the phone call, "Cesar's" face shows a big smile, indicating Cesar's replacement. After Mark finishes turning on the cameras and returns home, we are shown security camera footage from earlier that day where Cesar's mother screams "Who are you? Get away from me!" where she then screams. Cesar's face is seen distorted beyond recognition, confirming to the audience that he was replaced and that the alternate attacked Cesar's mother. Mark attempted to call Cesar, telling him that an alternate followed him home, not knowing that "Cesar" was the alternate who followed him home.

Cesar Torres is Hispanic. That is, he is of Latin American descent (according to his creator)[1] In the Show Boys Podcast, Episode 74, at 1:25:17 into the podcast interview featuring Alex Kister, a question about donation asked Alex what happened to Caesar after the events of Volume 1. Alex replied that Caesar (specifically the human Caesar) is still alive in an unknown location and "is trying to find Mark and Mark is trying to find him" to which Alex instantly stops short as he accidentally messed up that fact. Whether or not this is still canon or was ever canon and wasn't just a joke or misunderstanding is unknown to Alex implying that he will possibly change that fact. Caesar and The Boy are the only characters who have never been seen (when Caesar's alternate replaced him). It has been confirmed multiple times that Caesar (along with Ruth in the same statement) he and Mark will soon be getting more coverage in the series and Alex stated about Mark and supposedly Caesar that he regrets killing Mark so early in the series.
