SUNNY'S Mom

SUNNY'S MOM is absent during the game's events, busy preparing for the move to their new home. She leaves voicemails on the phone that can be listened to at the start of every FARAWAY TOWN sequence. She has also left a list of chores for SUNNY to do while she is away in addition to various sticky notes reminding SUNNY to take care of himself. The game's dialogue implies that she and SUNNY'S DAD are no longer together, as she refers to their family as "both of us"[3] and is the only parent SUNNY interacts with throughout the game. The game further insinuates this by the chronological change in SUNNY's description of his mother's bed. During the CROSSROADS segment of the SUNNY ROUTE where SUNNY can explore his house as he remembers it before the day of the recital, interacting with the bed in his parents' room will yield the description that the bed belongs to both his mother and father. In contrast, interacting with the bed during the regular segments of the FARAWAY TOWN sequences yield the description that the bed is solely his mom's.
