Edric Blight is a recurring character in The Owl House. He is the older brother of Amity Blight and the younger twin brother of Emira Blight,[2] and a student at Hexside School of Witchcraft and Demons. Although initially only part of the Illusions track, he is currently enrolled in the Illusion, Potions, and Beast Care tracks.

Physicist

In "Trust Me", it is revealed that both Edric and Emira use a Concealment Stone to hide their true appearances. Without his Concealment Stone, Edric's overall appearance becomes more unkempt, with his hair pulled back, the thin beginnings of a mustache, and hairs visible on his legs. At some point after taking refuge in Hexside, he cut off his mustache. In the epilogue of "Watching and Dreaming", Edric grew a bit of a beard and his hair is the same but longer.

Outfit

Edric wears the Illusion Track School Uniform, which consists of a light blue shirt and pants covered by a grey tunic and a small darker grey hood over it. He also sports grey boots. In "Maze Runners", due to his enrollment in illusion, potions, and beast tracking, his sleeves are now orange and yellow. Outside of school, he wears a dark grey long-sleeved tunic tucked into his grey pants, a sleeveless burgundy shirt with a belt around his waist, and grey boots with burgundy cuffs. Without his teardrop-shaped cloaking stone tucked under his sleeve on his wrist, he wears a yellow t-shirt with a campfire on it, grey sweatpants, and brown loafers. He also wears a set of black-framed glasses and a black headband. After taking refuge in Hexside, Edric stops wearing his cloaking stone and hairband, keeps his glasses in place, which have since cracked, and is covered in a full-body cast with braces to keep his arms in place.

Personality

Edric is a calm and friendly boy, but has been shown to be a rather obnoxious prankster alongside his twin sister, Emira. This is because he likes to have fun. He is also quite rebellious, refusing to attend classes and preferring to skip them. He and Emira enjoy embarrassing their younger sister, Amity, due to her aloof behavior. However, despite this, he and Emira seem to genuinely care about her, as Amity mentioned that they have been very protective and kind to her to make up for the "library incident" in "Enchanted Books". Since then, Edric and Emira have had a much better relationship with Amity, helping her rescue Luz and giving her advice when she talked about her crush on the latter. Although initially antagonistic towards his younger sister, Edric seems to hold no ill will towards Luz for attempting to thwart his and Emira's plans to embarrass Amity. He even shows some fondness for her, winking at her when they first met. Compared to his sisters, Edric is very melodramatic, as he is quick to panic in the face of adversity and danger. He is also prone to becoming emotionally attached, such as when he wanted to adopt a bat that he and Emira were planning to eat. This extends towards Emira to the point of dependency, as she despairs at the thought of parting with Emira forever (a sentiment the more autonomous Emira does not share). Edric is also a bit of a fool at times, often refusing to listen to Emira or making his own situation worse.

Edric Blight was born into the Blight family as the second son, shortly after his twin sister. From a young age, Edric and Emira were incredibly talented Witches and boasted a seemingly perfect reputation. However, the youngest Blight, Amity, knew that her older siblings had a penchant for trouble and would often rat the two out. At some point during their early teenage years, Edric and Emira scored high on the Hexside Placement Test and enrolled in the Illusion Track.[3]
