Ramesses II is one of the most famous pharaohs who reigned over Egypt during the Golden Age. He is the third most powerful pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt. Known by the Hellenized title Osimandias (Greek: Ὀσυμανδύας), he was the third pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt,[1] one of the dynasties that make up the New Kingdom. He reigned between approximately 1279 BC and 1213 BC, having had one of the most prestigious reigns in Egyptian history, in economic, administrative, cultural and military aspects. Son of: Seti I, Tuya. Brother of: Henutmiré, Tia, Nebchasetnebet. Pharaoh of Egypt (1194-1163 BC) of the twentieth dynasty, born Usermaetré Meriamon in Thebes, famous for his great maritime victories and against the peoples of Asia Minor and for being linked, according to the Bible, to the oppression and exodus of the Hebrews.
