Hal Jordan is a fighter pilot, member and occasional leader of an intergalactic police force called the Green Lantern Corps, as well as a founding member of the Justice League, DC's flagship superhero team, alongside well-known heroes such as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. He fights evil across the universe with a ring that grants him a variety of superpowers, but is usually depicted as one of the protectors of Sector 2814, which is the sector where Earth resides. His powers are derived from his power ring and its battery, which in the hands of someone capable of overcoming great fear allows the user to channel their willpower to create all manner of fantastical constructs. Jordan uses this power to fly, even through the vacuum of space; to create shields, swords, and lasers; and to construct his Green Lantern suit, which protects his secret identity in his civilian life on Earth. Jordan and all the other Green Lanterns are monitored and enabled by the mysterious Guardians of the Universe, who developed from an idea that Julius Schwartz and Broome had originally conceived years earlier in a story featuring Captain Comet in Strange Adventures #22 (July 1952) titled "Guardians of the Clockwork Universe".[1] During the 1990s, Jordan also appeared as a villain. The Emerald Twilight story line saw a Jordan traumatized by the destruction Mongul caused to Jordan's hometown, adopt the name "Parallax" and threaten to destroy the universe.[2] In the following years, DC Comics rehabilitated the character, first by having Jordan seek redemption for his actions as Parallax, and later by revealing that Parallax was actually an evil cosmic entity that corrupted Jordan and took control of his actions. Between the character's stint as Parallax and his return to DC Comics as a heroic Green Lantern, Jordan's return to DC Comics was a series of events that included the character's return as a Green Lantern, and the character's return as a Green Lantern.
.
Once again, the character also briefly served as the Spectre, a supernatural character in DC Comics stories who acts as God's wrathful agent on Earth. Outside of comics, Hal Jordan has appeared in several animated, video game, and live-action projects. Jordan's original design in the comics was based on actor Paul Newman,[3] and the character was ranked seventh on IGN's Top 100 Comic Book Heroes in 2011.[4] In 2013, Hal Jordan was ranked fourth on IGN's Top 25 DC Comics Heroes.[5] Hal Jordan made his film debut in the 2011 film Green Lantern, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds.
Main biography
Hal Jordan was born in Coast City on February 20th, the son of Martin and Jessica Jordan, and the middle brother of Jack and Jim Jordan. As a young child, he idolized his father, a test pilot who worked at Ferris Aircraft. At a very young age, he had to face his greatest fears when his father was killed in a plane crash in front of his eyes. Despite his family's wishes, he followed in his father's footsteps and eventually joined the United States Air Force on his eighteenth birthday (waiting that very morning outside the Armed Forces Career Center, before it even opened). Many years later, a dying alien named Abin Sur, a member of the Green Lantern Corps, crash-landed in the California desert. After having selected a replacement for his position, the power ring chose Hal Jordan for his ability to overcome great fear. At first he used the ring for fun and due to various situations he was considered a superhero, at this point the story divides, since in the comic Emerald Dawn (Green Lantern V.2), Hal has to face an armored alien in yellow (LEGION), in the fierce battle he realizes that the ring cannot harm him (he still had no knowledge about the yellow impurity) and in search of answers he returns to Abin Sur's abandoned spaceship and there he accidentally recharges his ring in the Green Lantern portable battery, taking it to Oa (for not reciting the oath) where he reports the situation about the alien. While in Secret Origin (Green Lantern V.4), after using his ring for a while he decides to return to Abin Sur's ship to give the corpse a proper burial and as a result he accidentally recharges his ring in the Green Lantern portable battery and is transported to Oa where he receives training and is then assigned to the sector

Hal and Oliver Queen are good friends, often having adventures together. Hal is also friends with Barry Allen, the second Flash, who, along with Hal, was a founding member of the Justice League. Hal later maintained a friendship with his respective sidekicks, Roy Harper and Wally West, the third Flash.
Star sapphire
As a womanizer, Hal had courted several beautiful women in his time. Of these women, the closest to Hal was Carol Ferris, who was his boss when he worked as a test pilot for her company, Ferris Aircraft. Unfortunately, their relationship was strained on several occasions by Carol's position as Hal's boss and her dedication to the running of his company, as well as Hal going through a period of instability where he was constantly moving around trying new jobs that didn't suit him. Worse yet, Carol was chosen by the Zamaronas (planet Zamaron) to be a Star Sapphire, as a result becoming a villain and even more of a danger to men.

The Guardians keep the true source of the yellow impurity a secret, the spirit of the emotional spectrum of Fear, Parallax, who is imprisoned in the Central Battery on Oa. Hal Jordan under the tutelage of Sinestro is invited by him to Sector 1,417, on the planet Korugar, there Hal realized that Sinestro was rather a tyrant and ruled his sector thanks to the fear of the inhabitants of Korugar. Because of this Hal decides to report to the Guardians about the evil that Sinestro imposed on his sector, for which he was stripped of his ring and imprisoned in the Central Battery of Oa. On Earth after the death of Superman, several arose in search of the title as the new Man of Steel, among them the Cyborg Superman, Hank Henshaw, who helped by the alien Mongul, destroyed Coast City, Hal Jordan's hometown. This causes Hal to become susceptible to fear, which changes both his way of thinking and his physical form. In an attempt to rebuild his city, he breaks one of the Guardians of the Universe's rules that the ring should not be used for personal purposes, but Hal ignores the rule and travels to Oa to obtain enough power from the battery to rebuild Coast City: on the way he is interrupted by the 3,600 members of the Green Lantern Corps and kills the vast majority of them. Once on Oa, Hal challenges the Guardians, who desperately free Sinestro, only to witness how Hal breaks his neck and once he has obtained the power, destroys the battery, thus generating the event known as Zero Hour. Hal changed his name to Parallax and became one of the most powerful villains: in a last heroic attempt, Hal as Parallax prevents the Sun Eater from turning off his respective Sun, saving his entire universe in the event known as "The Final Night".
rebirth
After some time, Hal is heard from again, and this time he was altering reality, so the Justice League decides to act. Kyle Rayner, Hal's third successor as Green Lantern and "last" member of the Green Lantern Corps, comes to Earth to warn that Hal actually has a parasitic entity in his soul, known as Parallax and was able to rescue Hal's corpse hidden in the Sun. While the first two retired Hal successors, Guy Gardner and John Stewart, return to their Green Lantern ways, but susceptible to fear are controlled by Parallax, attacking the Justice League, together with the resurrected Officer Kilowog (killed in Hal's massacre as Parallax and was revived by him to be his subject). Guardian Ganthet decides to act and travels to Earth to free his last Green Lanterns from Parallax's mind control and all together with the Justice League decide to attack Hal. While Green Arrow and Kyle Rayner, guarding Hal's corpse, are attacked by Sinestro who was behind all this, as it is revealed that he was the one who awakened the spirit of the emotional spectrum of fear, Parallax, when he was locked in the Power Battery on Oa, he was also the one who ordered the entity to attack Hal in revenge for what he did to him (betrayal, when Hal accused him before the Guardians) and that Parallax altered reality to make it look like Hal had broken his neck. This time Sinestro possessed a new ring, the yellow ring of fear.
rebirth
In addition to Parallax, Hal had his soul attached to The Spectre, the Spirit of Vengeance, who was helping him expel the Parallax parasite. In the League's fight against Hal, he makes a last effort and helped by the Spectre manages to free himself from both spirits, then his soul was guided by Ganthet, while the guardian was invaded by Parallax. Hal travels to his original body and discovers Sinestro, so a fierce battle begins between Kyle and Hal against Sinestro, they manage to defeat him, so he escapes to the Antimatter universe. Hal decides to return to where the League was fighting only to find a corrupted Ganthet. Then as a decisive moment, the last Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner and Kilowog are seen against Parallax. They manage to separate the parasite from the guardian and re-imprison it in the central battery of Oa.
green lanters corps
As the last members, Hal and his friends decide to rebuild the Green Lantern Corps, but this time without the Territorial Edict rule and with 2 Green Lanterns for each space sector. Also in the search for new members, some Lanterns who survived the massacre carried out by Hal when he was possessed by Parallax appeared, they had lost their ring in the massacre, but now returned they were known by all as "Lost Lanterns" and held a certain grudge against Hal and his friends. Hal also recruited Sodam Yat, a Daxamite, who has a power similar to Superman's and would later be known as the "Ultimate Green Lantern", "Legendary Green Lantern" or "The True Ion".
the power of lon
Kyle Rayner was transformed into Ion by the Guardians of the Universe, but in reality Kyle is just a host for Ion, the emotional spectrum entity of Will. And they were holding Superboy Prime prisoner, one of the most powerful villains to emerge from Crisis on Infinite Earths, who was being guarded near a Sun by thousands of Green Lanterns. Read more about Kyle Rayner.
Sinestro Corps War
With the Green Lantern Corps rebuilt, a new threat arose when the yellow rings of fear sought out those who generated great fear, to join the "Sinestro Corps". It was then that on Oa they received a surprise attack by the Sinestro Corps, kidnapping Kyle as Ion and freeing Superboy Prime. Hal is contacted by the guardians Ganthet and Sayd, to lead the Green Lantern in the coming war, immediately after Hal and his friends are attacked by the new Parallax, Kyle.
The Blackest Night
Following the events of "Sinestro Corps War" more emotional spectrums emerged, love (violet), rage (red), greed (orange), hope (blue), compassion (indigo), fear (yellow) and will (green), respectively. An interstellar war begins for the supremacy of each faction of light, in the event known as "the War of the Lights".

As a Green Lantern, Jordan is semi-invulnerable, able to project solid constructs of light, fly, and utilize various other abilities through his power ring, which are only limited by his imagination and willpower. Jordan as a Green Lantern has exceptional willpower. As Parallax, Hal was one of the most powerful beings in the entire DC Universe. In addition to his normal Green Lantern powers, he was able to manipulate and reconfigure space-time at will. He also had superhuman strength, as demonstrated by defeating Superman with a single punch. In addition, he had a heightened sense of awareness and enhanced durability. But he could still be damaged almost as easily as a normal Green Lantern, though he seemed to be able to withstand physical punishment. While Hal Jordan was Parallax, he was never defeated by physical strength: all of his rare defeats were due to his changing mental state during or after battle, which was usually the result of facing his own conscience and eventually giving up, leaving the battle, and going into hiding.
