Appearance Kid is a tall, pale, muscular man with flame-like red-orange hair. His nose is shaped like a pointed nose with small bumps on both sides. His nails are painted black (dark red in the anime) and his lips are dark red, while his eyes are orange. A peculiarity of his face is that he lacks eyebrows.[1] Kid dresses flamboyantly. Before the timeskip, he wore yellow and black patterned pants with a red stripe, black boots, and a blue sash under a green belt with a circular gold plate with a four-leaf clover design in the center. He also wears a thin black bandolier studded with tiny screws from which hang a flintlock pistol and a dagger with a Japanese-style handle. He also has gold bracelets around both wrists. He wears square-shaped engineering glasses on his forehead and a large fur coat over his muscular, bare torso, adorned with studs lining the shoulder area and hooks. He usually keeps his right arm tucked into the sleeve of his coat while his left arm is tucked under it. [1]

After the time-skip, Kid has slightly grown his hair so that it appears to be slicked back. On his face is a large scar that starts on the left side of his forehead and ends at his left jaw; a smaller one that also starts on the left side of his forehead, crosses his eye and ends at his left cheek. On his torso he also exhibits two scars; one that starts on his neck and ends at his chest and a smaller one on his abdominal area, while his right arm has two small scars parallel to each other. During the two-year time-skip, Kid lost his left arm and has replaced it with a fully mechanical arm. As for his clothing, Kid wears the same pants as two years ago, an open black vest held up by a sash with two belts and a long dark red coat over his shoulders. His body appears to be more muscular and he no longer wears any jewelry or ornaments.[11] Upon being imprisoned in Udon Prison, Kid no longer has his mechanical arm,[12] which he later replaced with one made of metal parts.[13] As a child, his hair was slightly longer and ended in a spike, resembling a lion's mane. He wore large, round glasses on his forehead and no lipstick. He wore a blue tank top with a patch on the left side, yellow striped pants with a patch, and simple brown shoes. He was depicted playing with a toy robot and a wrench.[14]

His hatred of them is such that he plans to become the most violent pirate of all time, as a symbol of revolt against them. [6] To him, pirates are at least honest and have their "charm." [18] Kid repudiates the actions of the World Nobles to such an extent that when Camie was sold to one of them he decided to leave the auction house commenting that said sale was nothing more than a metaphor for the decrepitude of the world, calling the matter a farce. [19] He also called the broadcast of the war that took place in Marineford by the Marines to the world a spectacle. [20] Kid shares the same dream as Luffy; to find the One Piece and become the new Pirate King. Because of this and his recklessness, Kid seems to have a great deal of respect for Luffy. Despite this, Kid deals with his problems in an unorthodox manner; eliminating anyone who ever laughed at his ambitions. This is somewhat of an antithesis to Luffy's behavior. [21] The pirate seems to believe that having the determination to be able to accomplish the impossible is necessary to survive in the New World. [8] After being saved by him in Udon, though unwilling to fraternize with the pirate, he refused to take his life as an act of gratitude despite having warned him upon their first meeting that he would not be so merciful if they met again. He has a certain interest in staying informed of all the events that occur in the New World. Despite not being an agent of the Underworld, he watched the broadcast of Caesar Clown's experiment just to stay informed.[11]

Kid has shown to be a rebel even in extreme situations, refusing to join the Beasts Pirates and being brutally defeated and imprisoned by Kaidou; and facing off against prison guards while incarcerated.[12] Kid also appears to be very energetic and somewhat impatient, being able to demand more quarry ships on the spot so that he can deliver more rocks.[12] Much like Luffy, he is a person who likes to eat in large quantities.[12] However, learning what happened with Killer has made him much more distrustful and paranoid, refusing to trust anyone again except his crew.[13] He also has a vengeful side towards anyone who hurts him and any member of his crew, also showing a protective attitude towards those he holds dear. During the timeskip, Kid attacked two ships belonging to the Big Mom Pirates because they hurt one of his nakamas. After meeting Apoo again in Onigashima, he attacked him, blaming him for the hell he had to go through in Udon and holding him responsible for everything they put Killer through.

Crew Kid seems to have a good relationship with his crew members: Wire and Heat have great respect for their captain, as shown when they were attacked by a Pacifista. After escaping from Udon Prison, Kid set off with Killer in search of the rest of his crew. Killer Killer is his childhood friend and co-founder of the crew.[6] Killer often appeases his captain when he is enraged and informs him of events in the world. Kid cares greatly for Killer, so much so that he became extremely enraged and began demanding explanations for what the Beasts Pirates had done to him.[22] Seeing what had been done to his companion caused him to stop trusting people outside his crew.[13] Rivals With the exception of Killer, the rest of the Supernovas who arrived on Sabaody two years ago are branded as rivals by Kid, with his focus being on Law and Luffy. On Sabaody the three agreed to meet again in the New World.[21]

Skills and powers As the captain of the Kid Pirates, Eustass Kid has complete authority over the crew. During the timeskip, the Kid Pirates continued to grow in infamy, as evidenced by the bounty on Killer and Kid himself,[11] and his intention to attack Big Mom's ships. The latter fact shows that he has become bolder and stronger, as he destroyed two ships belonging to one of the Four Emperors. Likewise, he managed to confront the Red Hair Pirates and injure one of the Big Mom Pirates' commanders and survive both skirmishes, but not before losing an arm to Shanks' crew. Kid also appears to be well-informed, as he is aware of the relationships within the Underworld.[11] Before the time skip, Kid and his crew were known to cause significant civilian casualties throughout their journey through Paradise.[1] He is a fearsome pirate who displayed impeccable resistance to the Haoshoku Haki pulse emitted by Silvers Rayleigh at the Auction House,[31] subsequently defeating a large group of Marines alongside Luffy and Law.[23] Alongside his crew, he managed to escape Admiral Kizaru and Sentomaru's attack on Sabaody.

Kid has shown tremendous strength, being able to carry dozens of gigantic rocks in a very short time on almost equal terms with Luffy; all this while wearing handcuffs containing sea stone, and with only one arm. He was also able to defeat Dobon, a leader of the Beasts Pirates, with great ease alongside Luffy, all with the aforementioned disadvantages. [12] He also has enough strength to destroy a ship, with the help of Luffy and Law. He also possesses enormous endurance, as he was able to withstand a direct punch from Big Mom, one of the Four Emperors, whom he sent flying with the power of his fruit. [32] He was shown to be able to gain enormous weight from ingesting food, and, like Luffy, digest it quickly to return to his normal form. It is unknown if this is due to some ability of his or if it was just a comical moment.[12]

History Past Kid was born in the South Blue, on an island not affiliated with the World Government.[7] He had known Killer since they were children. One day, while having curry udon with his first love, Victoria Shiruton Doruyanaika, they laughed when she spilled curry broth on herself while eating it, resulting in her beating them up. This caused curry udon to become his least favorite food.[39] Kid, Killer, Heat, and Wire were the heads of the gangs that ruled the four cities on the island. After Victoria was killed by a rival gang, Kid united the four groups and wiped out the rival gang. He then decided to form a pirate crew, naming his ship the Victoria Punk in Victoria's honor, with Kid as the captain and Killer as his right-hand man.[7] They were known to be responsible for much damage and caused many civilian casualties from the slightest provocations throughout their voyage. By the age of nineteen, he had already gained an infamous reputation, having been mentioned by Portgas D. Ace four years earlier as causing a significant impact at sea.[40] After a long journey along one of the Log Pose routes, Kid and his crew arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago, intent on preparing to travel to the New World. Their infamous deeds earned Kid a sum of Belly 315,000,000 for his head.[1]
