Gin Ichimaru

He constantly squints, rarely fully opening his sky-blue eyes. He appears to be a young man in his early twenties, though very thin and tall, with sharp features that give him a somewhat skeletal appearance. His hair is an unusual shade of silver (his name refers to the color of his hair, 銀 (gin) is Japanese for "silver", although his name is spelled differently).[3] Gin's usual facial expression is a wide grin, and he only stops smiling when he rarely shows signs of irritation, surprise, confusion, or even sadness. In Hueco Mundo, Gin changed his attire, much like Aizen and Tōsen, since they left Soul Society. He began wearing a long white cape over his usual hakama. The hilt of his sword is visible from underneath the cape through the low cut to his waist. Sometime later, Gin traded in the black Shinigami hakama for white hakama similar to those worn by Arrancar. His cape is cut low to his waist and hips. His cape has wide sleeves, which he uses to hide his hands, similar to the sleeves of a kimono. The lining of his clothing and the edges or layers of the lower cape are black. Like everyone else, Gin also wears black tabi and white waraji. The hilt of his sword is not visible in this attire.

Gin is one of the more mysterious Shinigami, largely due to his constant smile and perpetually narrowed eyes, coupled with a subtle sense of irony, ruthless sarcasm, and a somewhat mocking politeness. It is very difficult to discern his true intentions. Many find his demeanor and appearance unappealing, and very few trusted him (and that was before he was revealed to be a traitor). However, Gin seems to be aware of the impression he makes on people, and has repeatedly toyed with the feelings and emotions of those around him for his amusement. He somewhat frightened Rukia Kuchiki and Wonderweiss Margiela; Rukia, for example, recalled that whenever Gin spoke in front of her, she felt as if she was being entwined and strangled by snakes, even when he was not speaking to her. Gin speaks in a distinct Kyoto dialect that is polite but somewhat evasive. Dried persimmons have been his favorite food since he was a child. After planting and growing many persimmon trees around the 3rd Squad's barracks, Gin would dry the fruits and then pass the dried persimmons on to other squads.
