Anxiety enthusiastically ensures that Riley is prepared for all possible negative outcomes. Protecting the new teenager from dangers she cannot see, Anxiety is determined to ensure that Riley fits in with her high school peers at all costs.

Anxiety personality:

Anxiety, like his namesake, is the literal embodiment of any and all feelings of nervousness, tension, stress, and the like. He is extremely nervous and anxious about many things, such as encountering preexisting emotions like Joy, especially since he wants to make a good first impression. His main job is to protect Riley from things she "can't see" and plans for the future. As such, he is an intense planner, foreseeing everything that could go wrong so he can find a way to prevent it and desperately trying to fix it if it does happen. Anxiety is controlling, hating when he is put in the back seat of the controls, especially if it takes away from his plans.

Anxiety appears as an orange emotion, a volcanic eruption-style hairstyle of a darker shade of the same color and jade-green eyes, a long orange and white striped wool sweater, brown pants held up by a black belt with a gold button-shaped buckle, and brown shoes.
