Kagamine Rin・Len (鏡音リン・レン Kagamine Rin/Len - CV02) are the second voice pack from Crypton Future Media for the VOCALOID2 software, they were released on December 27, 2007. Years later, in 2015, they were updated for the VOCALOID4 editor. Crypton Future Media had intended to release a VOCALOID voiced by a teenage girl, but since there was no boy voicebank, they hired a voice actress who could produce both sounds. Kagamine Rin was the first voicebank developed,[2] however, on December 3, 2007 it was revealed that the package included two voicebanks: one for Rin as the female voice and one for Len as the male voice, both provided by seiyu Shimoda Asami.[3] The package was the same price as Hatsune Miku, although there were two voicebanks in the box. It is clearer and easier to use. Her voice is softer and more suitable for users with less experience with Vocaloid. It is less lively and flexible and does not allow for delicate adjustments or editing that provides a wider range of expression for experienced users. He cannot pronounce the phoneme h and is missing some other phonetic pronunciations in addition to what was missing in his original software version. She is able to give a voice that sounds quite masculine unlike her other voicebanks by being softer and stronger. This is also the most commonly used Kagamine Append VoiceBank. He will start to sound less like a man and more like a girl in the higher octaves.
