Appearance

Edward has long, golden hair, tied in a braid that hangs down his back, although he sometimes opts to wear it in a simple ponytail. His hair is parted in two from the center, framing his face and creating bangs on both sides of his forehead, leaving only a strand sticking out like a long ahoge-style spike above his head in the shape of an antenna. His eyes are also golden, a characteristic inherited from his origins in the long-gone country of Xerxes. As a result of human transmutation, Ed lost his left leg completely and, by fixing his brother's soul when he lost his body in the armor that was in his room, he had to pay for the process with his right arm, which is the reason why he wears mechanical prosthetics to replace his lost limbs. This gives rise to his nickname. At the end of the series, he is shown to have grown a couple more centimeters, surpassing Winry and being on par with Alphonse.

Personality

Edward is usually hyperactive, reserved and short-tempered. He is a great devotee of alchemy, and since childhood he dedicated himself to it. He has a strong sense of morality and justice, being protective of his loved ones, such as his brother Alphonse and his childhood friend, Winry. Due to his short temper, he hates it when people call him "small" or refer to his short stature, which makes him somewhat insecure. Usually when this happens, he tends to explode in anger as a recurring gag. He has a big heart and noble ideas, opposing the idea of ​​killing people, even if they are harmful enemies. At first he used to be somewhat rough with people, his direct way of expressing himself caused the opposite impression. In contrast, he was faithful and attached to his scientific vision of alchemy, which he considered to be the correct one. Edward also does not believe in a religious God, which could be a possible atheism or maltheism. He used to believe that only Alphonse understood him, and that they alone should bear the burden and responsibility of fixing his situation. Because of this, he was not interested in getting close to his loved ones like Winry or Pinako. Edward has a great feeling of protection towards his younger brother Alphonse, his main focus being to recover his human body only, although Alphonse always demands and reminds him to get his back as well. Joking, witty, unpredictable and "evil", although he may tend to be a bit harsh with those who give up, a bit jealous but not toxic.
