Pico

Description.

Pico is a well-known character from Newgrounds. He is the protagonist of Pico School, and the second playable character in Friday Night Funkin'. Pico makes his first appearance at Pico School, where he had to face Cassandra, one of his classmates, who, tired of the educational system, started a shooting at the school. Pico embarks on a short adventure through the school while witnessing all kinds of horrors that he has to survive to finally finish off Cassandra and emerge victorious, technically being the only survivor. Pico appears again as a guest character in Week 3 of Friday Night Funkin', and later becomes a playable character in Weekend 1. Pico later becomes one of the main characters in Friday Night Funkin', being selectable by the player just like Boyfriend. Pico is accompanied by his friend Nene who seems to have a romantic interest in him.

Appearance.

Pico is a young, thin boy of short stature. His hair is rounded orange with three soft, round spikes pointing upwards. His eyes are completely white and pupil-less. He has rather long, thin eyebrows pointing upwards along with a small, round nose. Pico's eyes and smile glow a dark blue when the lights are off, just like Boyfriend and Girlfriend. Pico wears a lime green shirt, beige pants, and maroon shoes with orange laces and a round red mark on the corners. Pico usually carries a gun in one hand. During his rap/singing battles with other characters he usually holds a microphone in the other hand, pointing it with his thumb.

Personality.

Pico was described as a popular, friendly and confident boy before the events of Pico School, he was a remarkable and curious boy who always raised his hand in class and had great respect and appreciation towards his other classmates as he always spoke with a positive attitude to the minimal problems that had been presented to him at those times. After the incidents and the massive destruction at the school, Pico was forced to take reckless measures in order to save his life and try to get out of there as soon as possible, killing many of Cassandra's henchmen at the time and canonically innocent people, even learning to smoke medicinal grass. It was then that Pico began to develop a completely psychopathic attitude of himself, being able to kill anyone without feeling any remorse or guilt. Pico is classified as a ruthless and highly aggressive killer. During the course of his story, it is shown that Pico is an excellent gunslinger capable of killing an entire army of Tankmen single-handedly and anyone who opposes him. It is also made clear that Pico is extremely paranoid, does not trust other characters very much and always keeps himself armed.

Personality. (2)

Despite his violent and dangerous ways, Pico rarely shows loving and even gentle attitudes, in this case with Boyfriend, his best friend and ex-boyfriend. Pico reuses himself to kill Boyfriend in any way when he was commissioned by Daddy Dearest, and was even able to save him when he was about to be killed by Tankman's army, kicking Girlfriend hard in the face with pride and contempt to take her place on the speakers, implying that he is jealous of her. The true appreciation he has for Boyfriend is shown when he practices in one of the game's screen results: Pico can be seen destroying dolls with pictures of Lemon Demon and Daddy Dearest with his gun and reusing himself to destroy Boyfriend's, then destroying one of Girlfriend. It is possible that Boyfriend is the only person Pico reuses himself to kill, but he seems to be jealous of Girlfriend.

History.

It all starts in high school, where Pico was dominated as a nice and popular boy. However, one day, the blonde teacher in the pink outfit started giving a lesson about apples and bananas, the teacher asks; "Who here ate an apple?", to which Pico raises his hand excitedly to answer, when suddenly, Cassandra starts giving loud arguments, and gets up to stand beside the teacher, saying "Enough of this shit! I've listened to gothic music all my life, never said anything about apples!" offending the American educational system. Cassandra utters the word "BERZEKER", and instantly takes the teacher's head off with a rifle, making a massacre in the classroom and painting all the walls with blood (literally) where you can see many corpses along with the teacher's head on top of her hand on the floor, and the other hand holding the door. Horrified, Pico manages to save himself since Cassandra didn't want to kill him yet, and scared, he leaves the classroom to search in the school's lockers, where he finds a flame extinguisher and a shotgun in one of the rooms. Pico continues forward where he finds a boy with spiky purple hair with an eyepatch and a shotgun, who says the following: Boy: “Hey, Pico. It seems that Cassandra has a crush on you! Otherwise… You’d be dead! It’s a shame that I don’t share Cassandra’s feelings. Any last requests?” *Annoyed.* Pico can respond in two ways, killing him brutally or asking for forgiveness. By killing him, Pico continues his survival, but if he decides to ask for forgiveness, Pico will say the following.

Pico: “Please forgive me! Without any survivors the press will have no one to exploit! I will go on television and help sensationalize this tragic event.” Boy: “You may be right, I’ll go ask the others. In the meantime, get out of my sight!” *Sends him flying with bullets.* Pico: “What an idiot!” Pico finally gets angry and brings out his psychopathic side, damaging his weapon with his own and leaving the boy defenseless. Boy: *Desperate and crying.* “Fuck me with a 10-meter pole, I can't believe it! Please, Pico! Don't kill me, I was just joking! They told me it would only scare you, it wasn't going to kill you!” Pico here has the opportunity to kill him or tell him to go away, but canonically he kills him. Pico: “Say your prayers, you’re going to be so full of lead you’ll have to use your penis as a pencil. All I have to do is pull this trigger right here!” *Kills him.* Boy: *Dies, but not before pissing himself.* Pico continues trying to escape from school, where he finds a cigarette in one of the lockers, and decides to smoke it to regain his health, since it is a medicinal herb. Pico quickly goes into another classroom where he meets Cassandra, who tells him that he is a nosy bastard, quickly introducing him to Alucard, a blue-skinned boy with wavy hair and psychic powers. Cassandra quickly disappears, annoyed that Pico is always popular. Pico has a strong battle, who manages to emerge victorious by eliminating the bodies before they hit him, and making Alucard give him the key. However, Pico, unhappy, shoots the chairs, leaving him defenseless and brutally killing him, where the corpses of the other students can be seen in the classroom.

Pico continues, entering the men's bathroom, where the word "DIE" can be seen written in shit on the mirror, and someone in the bathroom, who tells him to close the door and starts throwing balls of excrement at him, angrily Pico shoots him, getting his entire face covered in blood and giving the person a horrible and disgusting death. However, upon entering the women's bathroom, corpses of girls can be seen in the bathroom, with the walls painted red (possibly menstruation), where a strange ninja is found whom he threatens to cut off his dick with a sword. The boy reveals that he can attack without seeing, although he only has night vision goggles. Pico manages to kill him thanks to the fact that he can see him with the light of the shot, and collects his glasses to use them later. As Pico continues through the halls, he encounters Nene, who begs him to kill her as she doesn't want to live anymore because of the things she saw in the massacre. However, Pico ignores her and moves on, although canonically he kills her, she later becomes his friend and even his girlfriend. Pico quickly reaches the back of the school, where he finds a large number of bodies of the other students grotesquely and sadistically piled up in the corner of a wall. Pico enters the classroom and puts out the flames with a fire extinguisher, where Pico sees that the door is locked, and remembers that his dead teacher must have had a key to get in, so he decides to go back. Upon returning, police alarms can be heard ringing, where Pico enters the classroom and again sees his dead teacher, he uses the night vision goggles since everything was getting very dark, and returns again to the back of the school.

Upon entering, Pico sees Cassandra with two other boys from a higher area (Like a rooftop). Cassandra: “Not bad, Pico. You’re too late, though. It’s time for the punk/rock gestapo! I wish you were part of it? You could have been a nonconformist like the rest of us! But no, you had to express your individuality in ways other than your clothes. Weird guy 1: We're tired of people picking on us for the way we dress. Revenge is ours! Pico: “Society sucks, but you don’t have to kill your classmates to stand out. Try making the music instead of just listening to it. Better yet, create a crazy website that lets you kill pop-up icons. It doesn’t matter anyway, you’ve failed the test of life, and I’ll take you all in if I have to!” Cassandra: “You think I need those bastards to help me kill you!? To be honest I don’t care about this shitty society, I have other plans for this world.” *Kills her two winged companions, and begins to transform into a horrible thing with bulging yellow eyes, black skin and a huge cock, after her head turns around.* Pico easily manages to kill her, shooting her in the cock and in the eyes, until the police arrive to help him. Six months later, Pico returns to school, the teacher gives him good news that there are new students to replace the dead, but Pico is shocked and angry to see that they have the same ideology as Cassandra, and commits a massacre again.

A few years later, Pico returns in week 3 of Friday Night Funkin', as Daddy Dearest had ordered him to kill Boyfriend, but since he was her ex-boyfriend, she decided to spare his life and let him go. Later Pico goes out for a walk while eating a hamburger and drinking soda, and freaks out when he sees Nene looking for him, knowing that they wanted to kill him for breaking the deal with Daddy Dearest, since they did want to kill Boyfriend, after singing and fighting fiercely with Darnell, it is revealed that they were just having fun and they hold hands and hug each other, falling to the floor and bleeding, then an enraged Nene is seen tearing up a photo of Boyfriend and Girlfriend. It is also important to mention that he was the one who saved Boyfriend and Girlfriend from dying with the Tankmen in week 7. Nothing is really known about his past or his parents, but for now it will remain a mystery.

Relations.

Daddy Dearest: This is Girlfriend's overprotective father, he is a former rock star who does not want his daughter to date Boyfriend because he is a street rapper. Daddy Dearest is a man in his late 40s to early 60s with purple skin and a bit rusty when it comes to singing. He wears a black uniform with a loose jacket, a black belt with a gold clasp and a silver watch, and has red glowing pupils. His teeth are very pointed, with brown hair shaped like horns. Mommy Mearest: She is Girlfriend's mother. Like Daddy Dearest, she means well to her daughter Girlfriend and tends to be very protective of her, also not letting her and her boyfriend date. Mommy is willing to kill Boyfriend just like her husband, even not caring about the consequences or how sad Girlfriend would be about killing him. She is said to be one of the reasons why GF is so spoiled and snobby sometimes, as she gives her clothes and iPhones, showing that she cares about giving Girlfriend nice things. Girlfriend: Pico doesn't seem to get along with Girlfriend very well at first glance. It's implied that Pico is jealous that Girlfriend is dating her ex-boyfriend, Boyfriend. Skid and Pump: They are easy to fool, Lemon Demon claims that Girlfriend is made of candy, as he orders the children to get him and bring Girlfriend to him so he can eat her. Pico shows on one of the results screens that he wants to kill him. Lemon Demon: Lemon Demon is a kind of black monster with a lemon head. He wants to eat Girlfriend and sings in gruesome detail about how he plans to do so. Tankman: After Girlfriend and Boyfriend end up in the Military Restricted Zone, Tankman tells them that they should kill them, but having such a boring day he decides to sing with them for a while. Finally,

Tankman orders his men to kill the couple after losing twice, that’s when Girlfriend happily reveals her demonic powers, showing her readiness to fight back and that she’s not afraid of the Tankmen, at least until Pico came to push her and help them and kill the Tankmen. “You know, I should just kill you right now, but it’s been such a boring day… Let’s see what you got.” -Tankman addressing Boyfriend- Nene: Nene is an Asian woman who wears a pink dress, a light pink shirt and pants, and has white eyes. Her hair is black and she wears a pink headband. She is one of Pico's friends, who saved his life in the school massacre and has suicidal intentions and a sociopathic and sadistic personality. Nene often shows affection and a sadistic but adorable sense of love towards Pico, during the fourth update, she is represented as his girlfriend in the speakers in her playable version. Darnell: Darnell is one of Pico's friends. He is a dark-skinned man with tall, slanted purple hair that sweeps up in a sharp arc in the front and curves up and out slightly in the back (There's really no better way to describe it). His hair extends over the back and curves up and out slightly. Darnell has white eyes with no pupils, just like Pico and Nene. He wears a purple and yellow hooded sweatshirt with yellow drawstrings, dark grey pants, and white sneakers along with a pair of blue-grey headphones around his neck. Darnell always holds a lighter in his right hand along with a microphone in his left hand.

Darnell is a person with pyromaniac tendencies. He loves to set fire to anything, even burning down 9 buildings just to watch them burn for his own pleasure, which gives him an almost sadistic nature. He is vengeful and mean, just like Pico and Nene. Cassandra: She is without a doubt, one of Pico's worst enemies (Maybe friends in some alternate timeline), and a schoolhouse robber. Cassandra takes place in an alternate universe where she is Girlfriend's older sister and has her body possessed by a Penilian to cause the destruction of the world. Boyfriend: Boyfriend is a fair-skinned man with spiky cyan hair and an ever-confident expression. He wears a magenta-white t-shirt with a red prohibition sign in the middle, dark blue baggy pants with red lace-up sneakers with magenta-white soles with black dots on the quarters, and a backwards red cap with a dark blue visor. He holds a bluish-gray microphone in his right hand while keeping his left hand resting in his pocket. Although he appears to be very short, he is actually 7 feet tall.

• Pico is 19 years old. • Pico is gay, although it is seen that he usually goes out with Nene a lot, possibly they are a couple in some way since Nene wants to see Boyfriend and Girlfriend dead. • Pico has schizophrenia, probably because of what happened at his school. • Pico's voice is too dry, he speaks in a tone that is too low and seems artificial, making abnormal noises at times.

Curiosities.

• Pico has untreated schizophrenia due to his paranoia, which causes him to keep his weapons with him at all times for fear of being attacked. • Tankman describes him during the scene as Boyfriend's "angry, sexually ambiguous little friend." • Pico has an IQ of 127. • Pico's preferred weapons are automatic ones, such as the MAC-10, UZI or the M16 assault rifle. • Pico has toned abs, which suggests that he exercises. • Pico has a bad relationship with his father, in a Tom Fulp skit he says; “My dad loves that car more than he loves me! I hope he crashes the damn car into a brick wall!” • Beak is missing a tooth, and has a scar on his stomach. • Pico has insomnia. • Pico is an American and lives in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. • Pico is a musician like Boyfriend and collects vinyl records at his local record store, 911 Records. • Pico is neurodivergent. • Pico is bisexual, but his orientation makes him feel more attracted to men.
