With the tragic event being the responsibility of Umbrella who tried to cover up the incident by eliminating compromising evidence, the government decreed the suspension of the business activities of the multinational pharmaceutical corporation, Umbrella to avoid other similar catastrophes, once its responsibility in the tragedy could be proven. Shortly afterward, the company's stock plummeted to the point that, in practice, combined with the national and international shock caused by the viral disaster in Raccoon City, Umbrella was wiped out. After that, the survivors of the catastrophe joined different entities with the intention of eradicating bioterrorism from the world, which had skyrocketed in an alarming way.
