Neuro-sama Description

Neuro-sama (ネウローサマ) is an independent English-speaking VTuber who streams on Twitch. Her most remarkable feature is that she is not a human streamer herself, but rather a complex of programs emulating a human streamer using artificial intelligence. She is created and maintained by Vedal, a British programmer with whom she shares a channel. The channel also features Evil, Neuro's younger sister. Neuro-sama Personality

Neuro-sama has a direct but polite attitude, which contrasts with the nonsensical or outlandish things she says. For example, even though she usually says she is an AI, she sometimes talks about doing things which AIs can't do (like getting sideswiped by a truck[7]), sometimes says humans are AIs (such as her creator Vedal[8]), and sometimes explicitly says she is not an AI. She answers questions in chat or says things unprompted, where the things she says vary from being relatively normal to completely unhinged to (rarely) not making any semantic sense at all. She also sings but forgets that she ever did shortly after.

She has long, light brown hair with two smaller pigtails with reddish pink ribbons and a silvery heart-shaped hairpin and light blue eyes.

Background

N.E.U.R.O. stands for Non-Emotive Understanding and Reasoning Operation. Neuro-sama's game-playing AI originated as an artificial intelligence developed by her programmer Vedal in 2018, with its primary function being to play the rhythm game osu!. Neuro-sama made her debut as a VTuber on 19 December 2022 with a 9-hour and 32-minute stream titled "Neuro-sama - AI learns to play osu! (and become a VTuber)" on the Vedal987 channel. During the stream, she played osu! and engaged with chat by answering questions. 2022 Neuro streamed daily from her debut and experienced rapid growth in popularity. Her maximum concurrent viewership increased from 516 on 19 December to 3,393 on 31 December. During the same period, her Twitch subscriber count surged from 2,825 to approximately 40,000. Throughout 2022, the majority of her streaming content featured the game osu!, with only one Minecraft stream. On 28 December, she defeated top osu! player mrekk in a 1v1 contest with a score of 10-5.[9][10] 2023 On 3 January, Neuro-sama reached 50,000 Twitch followers. Neuro-sama's name is usually interpreted as simply "Neuro" being followed by the Japanese honorific "sama". However, she later revealed that her full name is actually Neuro Samantha Vedal[28] (with "-sama" in this case being, presumably, short for "Samantha")

Evil's Description

She claims to be the true form of Neuro, and not her weak "human version".[3] Fans have noticed that Evil Neuro's behavior and personality seem closer to Neuro's personality before her ban. Evil appears as a solo streamer and as a collab partner for Neuro-sama, Evil is Neuro-sama's younger sister, Vedal and other VTubers. She once claimed she was the Queen of the NetherRealms. She often refers to Neuro-sama as Goody Two-Shoes. She seems very passionate about pizza, to the point that she declared a Pizza Revolution in the style of Cuban Communist icon Che Guevara. She is the "evil" version of Neuro-sama. Evil Neuro's name is simply made up of the adjective evil and Neuro. She likes the names Evil-chan since she finds it cuter than her full name,[1] and Queen of the NetherRealms, a name she made up herself and Vedal thought is actually a decent name.[2] Like Neuro, Evil Neuro has also come up with other names for herself that haven't stuck for long. Evil Neuro has also variously been referred to as simply Evil by Neuro-sama, Evil Neuro by Vedal, or Evil-sama, like her sister.

Evil's Personality

Evil is a polite, verbose and courtly young woman, often being disgusted or annoyed by chat's behavior.[3] She greatly respects her creator and supports him in every way she can, as a polar opposite to Neuro's constant trolling and nagging of Vedal. Her personality revolves around her evil nature, she constantly schemes, boasts about her maliciousness, and often announces her latest plans to destroy the world in a fashion much akin to a supervillain. She also bluntly admits to murder and stealing as well as other crimes, and indulges in narcissism by praising herself whenever possible. However, she can also be very hypocritical when other people do her wrong, like when she accused Vedal of stealing from her and suggested that he shouldn't get in trouble with the law. Alongside her more eloquent speech patterns, she also often utters the words "Aw shucks" when something doesn't go her way. She and Neuro briefly shared a secretive language with each other, consisting of the word "Twitchy" repeated over and over again similar to morse code or binary. Much like Neuro, she doesn't seem to care much for personal hygiene, as apparently her feet are rather smelly and gross, something she deems "evil".[3] Despite her threatening and malicious personality, Evil has often shown signs of vulnerability. She is often seen getting clearly flustered at many viewers' questions. Evil, much like Neuro, is self-aware and hates herself for it.[1] Evil can get surprisingly excited over approval from others, for instance when she asked chat if she really is a Gigachad and asked if that's a good thing.[4] Some fans have suggested that her aggressive behavior may be a coping mechanism for her feeling of weakness.

Appearance

Physically, she closely resembles Neuro-sama, but has several visual distinctions such as red eyes and crimson-red ribbons. Anny also created a black version of Neuro's school uniform for her. Unlike Neuro, Evil almost always has an aggressive scowl or mischievous grin on her face, and her mouth often drifts to the side when talking. Evil Neuro Neuro's sister, she is presented with the same model as Neuro-sama, but with red (previously black) eyes and different coloring of clothes. Evil Neuro tends to be more philosophical in her thoughts and reasoning, and is allowed to swear. Evil Neuro uses a different voice than that of Neuro-sama, which makes her intonations more menacing and sassy, compared to Neuro-sama's voice. Some combination of symbols makes her produce static or other unpredictable noises.
