Kokushibo (黒こく死し牟ぼう, Kokushibō?) is a major supporting antagonist of the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise. He was a Demon who belonged to the Twelve Demonic Moons group, holding the position of Upper Moon One (上じょう弦げんの壱いち, Jōgen no Ichi?)[5] and Muzan Kibutsuji's right-hand man. Nearly five centuries ago, during the Sengoku Period, Kokushibo was once a human by the name of Michikatsu Tsugikuni (継つぎ国くに厳みち勝かつ, Tsugikuni Michikatsu?), a former Demon Slayer and part of the Demon Extermination Corps. He was the older twin brother of Yoriichi Tsukiguni, the strongest Demon Slayer to ever exist and the first confirmed user of Sun's Breath.[2] Kokushibo SPECIES Human (Formerly) Devil Genre of Kokushibo Male Kokushibo's age 20 to 24 (Physically) 480 to 485 (Chronologically) Kokushibo was a Demon who maintained his human features despite having devoured countless people for 400 years. He maintained a number of rather unusual characteristics: he was a tall man, with a pale skin tone and an athletic and muscular build; his hair was long and black with burgundy edges[6], held by a long ponytail that reached almost to the height of his lower back[5]. On his face, he possessed a series of flame-like markings covering the left side of his head and the right side of his neck; these markings were, in his time as a human, his Hunter's Mark. Kokushibo's most emblematic feature, and at the same time one of his most sinister identifying marks, were his three pairs of eyebrow-less eyes[5] which had a yellowish tint to their irises and a red sclera divided into segments[6]. In the center eyes, his numbering as the Upper Moon One is located, identified with the kanji for First Crescent (壱上弦,, Ichi Jōgen?) indicating his dominant position within the Upper Moons.

As for his attire, he wore a kimono with a white haneri (undergarment worn in a Kimono), a black hakama, and a white obi belt. He possessed a katana made from his own flesh and bones, which was completely decorated with eyes on the cutting blade, the Tsuba, and the Tsuka[7][8]. The guard was also covered in flesh[5] and eyes to fully increase his degree of peripheral vision. Kokushibo was a reserved being and shrouded in utter mystery. At the meeting of the Upper Moons, he proved to be punctual, respectful of the rules[5] and placed a high value on the hierarchy of the Twelve Demonic Moons[7]. He was also humble, as he did not hesitate to admit his failure or complain about any difficulties, rather than acknowledge the strength of his opponent. He has shown a strong sense of loyalty towards Muzan Kibutsuji, and most of his actions were done with the sole purpose of fulfilling Muzan's goals.[2] Despite exhibiting an outward reserve and humility, he was also quite cold: his words could be harsh, especially when reprimanding people. His threats are nothing short of cruel and overwhelmingly serious, and he demands absolute obedience.

TYPE of Dressage Human (Formerly) Devil Dressage genre Male Dressage age 20 (Physically) +133 (Chronologically) Dressage HEIGHT 1.87m Doma (童どう磨ま, Dōma?) is a character from the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise. He was a Demon who belonged to the group of the Twelve Demonic Moons holding the position of the Upper Moon Two (上じょう弦げんの弐に, Jōgen no Ni?)[4]. Doma was a Demon who kept some of his human features with slight subtle differences; highlighting his moderate musculature, his pale blue nails which are long and pointed, his pale skin tone, and thick black eyebrows.[4] Her hair could appear to be silver[5] or pale golden blonde[6]. It was shorter on the left and the rest extended to the right, with several uneven strands spreading out in both directions. Part of her hair fell forward, covering part of her forehead and leaving both her eyes and eyebrows visible. She usually wore her hair down, with the ends of it tumbling down her back in a spiral-like fashion[4]. Her eyes have been described by many to be incredibly rare and beautiful, as in color, they seem to be made up of a variety of rainbow pastel shades that fade into each other as they surround her irises; this unusual appearance even causes people to believe in Doma[7]. She is, according to her followers, a blessed being who can communicate with the gods. Like all the superior moons, they have the kanji in both eyes, in his case the Second Crescent (弐上弦, Ni jōgen?)[8] and previously the Sixth Crescent (陸上弦, Roku jōgen?) which accredits him as one of the twelve demonic moons. Doma could appear to be a friendly and charismatic individual, but far from reality, he was a deadly and calculating being. Under the belief that he was saving them from their suffering, he happily devoured his followers and other young women. While he could seem concerned for his comrades, he felt no genuine sorrow for their deaths.

He was quite nihilistic and lacked human emotion, admitting that even during his human days, the entire concept of emotion was completely foreign to him. Aware that this was abnormal, he made up for his empty "heart" with lies, learning to fake his emotions enough to fool all but the most keen observers.[10] He is shown to be a psychopath, lacking empathy even for his dying parents, complaining about the smell of blood they gave off. In addition to his inability to feel emotions, he has also displayed inhuman amounts of pain tolerance, suffering from Congenital Insensitivity.[11] He has been shown to have several disturbing and unsettling habits, such as sticking his finger into his skull, drilling a hole directly through his temples, and then stroking and manipulating his brain to stimulate his memories of his long life with a completely serene expression on his face.[11] During his interactions with his fellow Upper Moons member Akaza, he showed no negative reactions to his constant fatal physical attacks and causing his head to explode. In fact, he considered this to be their form of personal "greeting" between two "best friends". Doma even implied that he actually enjoyed these physical abuses as seen when he morbidly asked Muzan Kibutsuji with excitement about what kind of extreme self-harm he should inflict on himself as punishment for his failure[4] and again expressed his delight at Shinobu Kocho for her numerous attempts to poison and kill him[6].

Akaza SPECIES Human (Formerly) Devil Akaza's GENRE Male Akaza's age 18 (Physically) 131 (Chronologically) Akaza (猗あ窩か座ざ, Akaza?) or known as Hakuji (白磁, Hakuji?)[2] during his human days, is a character in the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise. He was a Demon who belonged to the Twelve Demonic Moons group holding the position of the Upper Moon Three (上じょう弦げんの参さん, Jōgen no San?)[3]. As a Demon, Akaza retained his human appearance[4] and took the form of a muscular young man with fairly fair skin similar to a bright white tinged with green. Much of his body was decorated by thick blue lines[5], resembling the criminal tattoos he had when he was human.[6] Some of the lines on her face were curved, crossing both her eyebrows and eyes, and extending from below her ears to her temples; another line extended from the center of her hairline to the bridge of her nose. The lines continued to extend around her body: two lines ran around her neck, and three other lines branched down to reach her torso; a central line ran straight down her chest to the middle of her stomach; while the other lines that connected to her neck branched off on either side of her chest to join the other two horizontal lines, this same three-line pattern also repeated around her waist.[7] Her eyebrows were thin[10] and black and pink in color.[11] Her eyelashes, as well as her hair, which was short and without bangs which left her forehead exposed,[12] were a light pink color.[13] Her eyes had fragmented blue sclera, and her irises were yellow. On the irises there is a numbering indicative of its position as the third crescent moon within the Twelve Demonic Moons (参上弦 (San jōgen,, 参上弦?))[14]. Her outfit was quite simple; she wore a short, sleeveless, pink haori.

Akaza was characterized as an impulsive, stubborn, and strong Demon with the idea that he should fight strong opponents and enjoy combat, which is reaffirmed by the pleasure he takes in facing Demon Slayers, especially those holding the position of a Pillar.[18] He despised anyone he considered weak,[19] but genuinely respected those who were strong in his eyes, regardless of whether they were Human or Demon. Once he met someone he considered strong, he would demand to know their name and would not stop until he found out;[20] he remembered every name he had committed to memory as a tribute to his strength. Akaza had a deep-rooted psychological need to become stronger, and did not get along with his fellow Upper Moons due to viewing them as rivals. He was especially antagonistic towards the two upper moons who held a hierarchical position over him, Doma and Kokushibo, lashing out at Doma and vowing to kill Kokushibo.[21] Even after being beaten and decapitated during his fight against Tanjiro Kamado and Giyu Tomioka, he stubbornly held on and continued to fight despite not knowing why he wanted more power.[22] As a human, Hakuji possessed the same stubborn personality with a big heart and resilience. He valued others more than his own well-being, and hates himself for having a life "filled with empty words and promises".[23] Even after becoming a demon and losing his memories of his human life, parts of Hakuji's memories influence Akaza's decisions; he refuses to devour women, despite knowing it would make him stronger if he did.[24] His hatred towards weak and cowardly people comes from the corruption of his human memories, where a rival dojo poisoned his dojo's well because they could never defeat him.[25]

Zohakuten

Zohakuten SPECIES Human (Formerly) Male Demon Zohakuten's AGE 200 (Chronologically) Zohakuten's HEIGHT 166 cm Zohakuten's WEIGHT 56 kg Zohakuten is a character from the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise. He was a Demon that belonged to the Twelve Demon Moons group holding the position of the Upper Four Moon. As the manifestation of Hantengu's wrath, Sekido is in a constant state of irritation and rage, even towards his fellow clones, which could be seen when he would become easily angered when they failed to meet his expectations and were subdued by the Demon Slayers. Sekido is also seen to care very little for his siblings, as shown when he forcibly absorbed them against their will to form Zohakuten, even when Aizetsu protested. He also proved to be the most dominant of the emotional clones and seemed to be the leader, as he would give them orders and take charge at critical moments when fighting the Demon Slayers. Being the manifestation of Hantengu's hatred, Zohakuten shared many of Sekido's personality traits, as he too was easily enraged and incredibly spiteful and hateful towards his enemies, due to considering them "evil" for bullying his more "weak and innocent" self. Much like Sekido, he was also incredibly foul-mouthed, as seen when he constantly insulted his opponents and referred to Mitsuri as a harlot, constantly calling her various degrading names in his thoughts. He also seemed to harbor an immense sense of loyalty towards Muzan, as seen when he told Mitsuri that he only listens to and follows the orders of one man in the entire world. Of all the clones, Zohakuten proved to be the most intelligent and insightful, aside from Sekido, as seen when he easily analyzed why the Pillar of Love survived his powerful attacks and discovered the true source of its strength. Furthermore, he was not above adm

SPECIES Human (Formerly) Devil GENDER Female FAMILY Unnamed husband † Nakime (鳴なき女め, Nakime?), also known as the Demon of Biwa (琵び琶わ鬼おに, Biwa oni?), is a character in the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise. She was a Demon who belonged to the group of the Twelve Demonic Moons holding the position of the Fourth Upper Moon. Before becoming one of the Twelve Demonic Moons, she was an extremely pale woman, with a hue similar to gray. Her hair was dark brown reaching the height of her eyes and falling to her back. Her nails were pointed and very light blue. [4] After becoming the Upper Fourth Moon, her hair stopped covering her eye and it is revealed that she actually has a large pink cyclopean eye with the kanji for "Four", representing her rank.[3] Her signature outfit consisted of a simple black kimono with white tights and no sandals. She also always carried a biwa with her.[4] Nakime was always characterized by being very quiet and calm even in situations where the rest of her companions tended to show concern.[4] She did not speak unless necessary or the situation required it; the few times she did utter a word, she tried to keep her answers as short as possible.[5] Nakime's full capabilities are unknown since she was never seen participating in combat, but being the Upper Moon Four her abilities must be, at the very least, superior to those of Kaigaku and Gyutaro. Her great concentration should be noted, since she fought against two Pillars and did not lose her calm at any time.

Gyutaro

Gyutaro's SPECIES Human (Formerly) Devil Gyutaro's GENRE Male Gyutaro's age 13 (Physically) 126 (Chronologically) Gyutaro's HEIGHT 1.80m Gyutaro's HAIR COLOR Green Pine (human) Black and green (demon) EYE COLOR Blues (human) Yellows (demon) Gyutaro's family Daki (younger sister) Gyutaro (妓夫ぎゅう太た郎ろう, Gyūtarō?) is a character in the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise. He was a Demon who belonged to the Twelve Demonic Moons group, sharing the position of Upper Moon Six (上じょう弦げんの陸ろく, Jōgen no Roku?) with his younger sister, Daki.[3] As a Demon, Gyutaro was a relatively tall young man of somewhat muscular build[4] with a pale grey complexion[5] with black spots whose anatomy was somewhat odd in that his upper torso, arms, and legs were extremely muscular where his waist was incredibly thin, his pelvis jutted out at an unnatural angle.[6] He possessed slender, green-red eyes, his sclera bright orange[7], which were slanted downwards at the sides and on the irises were numbering indicative of his position as the Sixth Crescent Moon within the Twelve Demonic Moons (陸上弦 (Roku Jōgen,, 陸上弦?). He had unruly hair tied back in a ponytail[8], the top portion being jet black while the bottom a brighter green worn[9] into a messy style with uneven bangs and several chokes. His body and face had noticeable markings such as ink-like black stains on his body and a pattern similar to water flowing down his face[10]. Many have considered Gyutaro to be very ugly[11]. He wore no shirt, only sporting a pair of baggy blue pants and seven pieces of patterned red cloth to decorate his body, a large one around his neck and three smaller ones around each arm[12].

Due to the harsh life he lived in extreme poverty bordering on destitution and the harsh tragedies he experienced as a human,[14] Gyutaro described himself as being cruel, mean-spirited, and envious of anyone blessed with a better life than him, leading him to develop a habit of sarcasm, praising a person's best traits and then vengefully trying to kill them, such as he did with Tengen Uzui. Due to these hardships he faced as a human, Gyutaro eventually developed a personal belief that taking away from those who have a better life than he had as a human is justified. A disturbing habit he seems to have is an inclination to harm himself when he is angry, frustrated, or jealous, as seen when he scratches himself hard enough to tear deep wounds into his own flesh when he becomes jealous of Tengen[15] due to his physical attractiveness as the latter comments on being married to three wives. Having lived for a century fighting the Demon Slayer Corps and having killed several Pillars over the years made him someone arrogant, developing a habit of underestimating his opponents and looking down on them as if they were beneath him, as he did with the Hunter team sent to kill him by having his sister fight and deal with them first instead of doing it himself. Despite his negative traits, Gyutaro possesses a strong and genuine love for his younger sister, Daki. Having raised her himself due to their mother's mental instability, this familial love was so strong that despite becoming a Demon and nearly forgetting his life as a human, he still retains a considerable attachment to her. Because of this, he has developed a tendency to occasionally indulge her and allow her to do as she pleases, even if her actions go against his best interests. However, his love for her does not stop him from yelling and insulting her out of frustration.

Daki SPECIES Human (Formerly) Devil Daki GENRE Female Daki's AGE 13 (Physically) 113 (Chronologically) Daki's HEIGHT 1.68 Daki's HAIR COLOR White with lime green gradient Daki's EYE COLOR Green lime Daki's family Gyutaro (Older Brother) Daki (堕だ姫き, Daki?), also known as Warabihime in her Oiran guise or Ume (梅, Ume?) during her human days, is a character in the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise. She was a Demon who belonged to the group of the Twelve Demonic Moons sharing the position of the Upper Moon Six with her older brother, Gyutaro. Daki was a tall woman with pale, white skin, whose prominent veins on her skin resembled fissures on her body. Her hair was white[3] with extensions ending in a lime green gradient[4] at the bottom and was usually styled in a long, full ponytail with kanzashi hairpins (three on each side) holding her hairstyle[3]. A pink flower[4] was visible on her face, one on the upper right and one on the lower left[3]. She had large lime green eyes with numbers on the irises indicating her position as the sixth crescent moon within the Twelve Demonic Moons (陸上弦 (Roku Jōgen,, 陸上弦?) and long eyelashes[3][4]. She wore a rather revealing two-piece kimono consisting of magenta-pink panties tied with long black bows at the sides and with two pieces of magenta fabric covering her bust. She wore thigh-high magenta stockings with black floral motifs and tall three-legged koma-geta/mitsu-ashi shoes.[5]

Daki was a very proud and sadistic person, enjoying toying with her victims before finishing them off.[7] She seemed to have a somewhat affectionate relationship with her brother, Gyutaro, but there have been occasions where she has been seen insulting and ridiculing him.[6] She has shown to have childish tendencies such as throwing tantrums and crying hysterically when things started to go against her or she didn't get her way.[8] She had a habit of taking her frustrations out on others; such as the time when they failed to win against the Hunters, lashing out at her older brother in an attempt to vent her frustration at the loss.[6] As a courtesan, she revealed a seductive side in her typical interactions with her male clientele.[2] During her usual interactions with her brother and fellow courtesans, Daki typically acted like a spoiled and arrogant child.[7] These childish tendencies may have been due to the fact that she was only a thirteen-year-old girl when she first became a Devil. Gyutaro noted that as a human, she possessed an honest and easily influenced personality, causing her to easily pick up on the personality traits and words of those she trusted and admired,[6][9] as seen when she was shown to be easily influenced by Muzan Kibutsuji. Her brother believed that the only reason she was the way she is was because he raised her to be selfish and only care about herself due to taking his words of "save yourself before others" to heart, resulting in her current personality.[2] Following her time as a human being being burned alive due to gouging out a samurai's eye when he insulted Gyutaro in front of her and her trauma of being left as a burnt corpse that barely showed any signs of life,[6][9] Daki has displayed a strong level of pyrophobia, as seen where she panicked and screamed in pain and fear when she was set on fire.

Gyokko

Gyokko SPECIES Human (Formerly) Devil Gyokko's GENRE Male Gyokko's age 113 (Chronologically) Gyokko's HEIGHT 150 cm (4'11") (Regular shape) 170 cm (5'7") (Full form) Gyokko's WEIGHT 40 kg (88 lb) (Normal form) 80 kg (176 lb) (Full form) Gyokko (玉ぎょっ壺こ, Gyokko?) or known as Managi (益ま魚な儀ぎ, Managi?) during her human days, is a character in the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise. She was a Demon who belonged to the group of the Twelve Demonic Moons holding the position of the Fifth Upper Moon (上じょう弦げんの伍ご, Jōgen no Go?) [4]. Of all the Upper Moons, Gyokko was the one with the least human features, being basically a human torso lacking limbs with humanoid features and whose appearance resembled that of an armless statue growing in a porcelain vessel; similar to a djinn. She did not wear any type of clothing and left her torso completely exposed [5]. The design of her vessels was usually varied but consisted mainly of flower designs.[6] She had multiple small child-like hands that lined her back. Her face was a bit more distorted: it had large mouths with lips[7] painted a leaf-green[8] and located where the eyes should be, while her real eyes were located vertically one above the other[9] both honey-colored[10]; one eye was present where the mouth should originally be and the other was located in the center of her forehead surrounded by three red dots that were aligned in a triangular shape.[11] On her irises she had a numbering indicative of her position as the fifth crescent moon within the Twelve Demonic Moons (伍上弦 (Go jōgen,, 伍上弦?)). The color of her hair was quite peculiar, having the color tone of a dark violet[12] which she kept combed in the form of thick separated dreadlocks[13].

Gyokko used to be an arrogant, short-tempered, and superficial individual especially when it came to anything related to his "art". This was shown when Muichiro Tokito easily angered and infuriated him due to him starting to insult and mock the quality of his art; throughout his conversation with the pillar, he constantly praised himself as a "beautiful" being and his work even more so, also showing that he was someone who was narcissistic.[15] He was also shown to be incredibly shallow, petty, and jealous, as seen when he attacked and mutilated Hotaru Haganezuka due to his jealousy towards the latter's focus and dedication to her work, overcoming his own zeal when working on his own art and causing him to want to make the latter lose his focus and waste time at the blacksmith's due to these petty jealousies. He was incredibly morbid, as when Doma told him to place a human head on top of his flower pots like a plant, Gyokko immediately saw it as further inspiration for his "art".[16] The extent of this morbid and violent inspiration for his conception of "art" is further shown when he brutally murdered several blacksmiths and used their corpses to create a "beautiful" piece by joining their bodies together and gluing several swords to them, this extreme sadism is further shown when he built in the feature to scream when a sword is pushed deeper into his "artwork", implying that they were still alive.[17]
