Blast

Blast (ブラスト, Burasuto) is the S-class, rank 1 professional hero of the Hero Association. Unbeknownst to Saitama's strength, he is commonly acknowledged as the most powerful hero in the entire association.[2] He currently appears to be going to various locations to collect God Cubes.[3] Only a select few members of the Hero Association's staff have the means to communicate with him.[4]

Appearance

Blast is a tall, muscular man with spiky, graying hair and a light beard. He wears bulky armor with large shoulder pads, a large, worn-out cape on the bottom, and emblems of his name on his chest and back. His suit has minor damage, presumably from his many battles. He also wears dark glasses and has a scar on his face between his eyes. His gloves have circles on the back of his fists, which form an infinity symbol when he presses them together to teleport. The outline of his iris is a wavy black pattern, as opposed to a consistent outline seen on other characters. In the past, Blast's appearance was very similar to that of today, but he looked younger, with darker hair and no beard. In addition, neither his armor nor himself had suffered any damage or injuries, and he did not wear glasses either.

Personality

Blast has a tendency to not show up to Hero Association meetings. Much like Saitama, Blast considers his hero work to be a hobby. He also appears to have independent tendencies, advising Tatsumaki to use her own powers to defend herself rather than waiting for others to save her,[5] and only appearing on his own terms (in his case, according to Sitch, when humanity is in danger). Blast's attack on the ninja village also indicates that he shows no mercy towards humans he sees as evil, similar to Amai Mask. When he appears to Saitama, Flashy Flash, and Manako, Blast has a casual and calm demeanor, as he doesn't seem to be bothered by the three of them touching the cube, as they neither know nor agree to the deal, and he is willing to explain what the object is. Blast is unaffected by the fact that Flashy Flash tries to attack him, simply telling him to calm down, as well as being willing to teleport them all out of the underground area they are in. Blast doesn't question Saitama's presence with an S-Class hero; however, he momentarily becomes serious about Manako's presence with them as she is a monster. After Saitama's explanation, he quickly returns to his relaxed demeanor and accepts what the bald hero has said.

Skills and Powers

Being the highest-ranking hero of the Hero Association, Blast is the most powerful hero out of all of them outside of Saitama, and has shown astonishing combat prowess to justify his rank. Blast was able to fight off the Elder Centipede, a Dragon-level threat strong enough to combat the likes of Bang, Bomb, and Genos simultaneously, leaving him on the brink of death, though the Elder Centipede was smaller and as such presumably weaker when he first fought Blast. Despite this, Gyoro Gyoro believed that the hero would still be able to defeat the Elder Centipede even in his current state. [1] Just before meeting Tatsumaki in the past, Blast was able to easily kill a giant monster that could pass through reinforced steel doors with no problem. Since the battle occurred off-screen, it is unknown how exactly he killed it, but the creature had a massive hole in its torso and the hero was intact. [2] When he placed his hand on Tatsumaki's head, he had a vision of Fubuki and was able to deduce that she was his sister. Because of this, it is implied that Blast may have some sort of mind-reading ability. [3] According to Sitch, he is the only hero capable of fighting God thanks to his ability to manipulate space-time, [4] though Blast's usage of it is unknown. He was shown to be capable of holding his own against Garou Awakened: Cosmic Terror Mode, the tremendously powerful ultimate transformation of the God-given Hero Hunter, and even previously matched Saitama in an exchange of blows, causing Garou to admit that he was not the highest-ranking S-Class hero for nothing. Furthermore, since he intended to first get the unconscious heroes to safety and avoid collateral damage, it is reasonable to assume that Blast held back against Garou.

Fubuki mentions that Blast is "the one at the top of all heroes" during her conversation with Saitama in his apartment, putting Blast alongside King in terms of power. [5] However, as King is revealed to be an ordinary human, Blast's strength is unknown as of yet. Sitch also mentions that Blast would only show up if humanity is in danger and that he is valuable enough to be given special treatment over the other heroes. [6] In the databook, Fubuki speculates that Blast, aside from being stronger than King, can shoot laser beams from his eyes and rules over psychic powers, and has the ability to command billions of robots. She presumes that he could defeat the entire S-Class at the same time.[7] Blast also defeated the Empty Void, who is regarded as the most powerful ninja to ever exist and stated to be able to defeat Flashy Flash, Speed ​​of Sound Sonic, and the entire Celestial Ninja Group at once as if he were dealing with children. The leader's defeat at the hands of Blast was so severe that it put him in a coma for 15 years. [10] He was also able to keep up with Cosmic Terror Mode Garou in combat, whose speed and agility also greatly surpassed Flashy Flash's. When Garou unleashed a flurry of punches capable of generating nuclear explosions, Blast was able to completely counter each blow by quickly redirecting them into portals created by his ability. [12] Radiation Resistance: Blast possesses great resistance to radiation, being the only hero present before Garou's Cosmic Terror Mode to be completely unaffected by the powerful radiation emitted by it.[13] Supernatural Abilities: Dimensional Portals: Blast possesses some sort of portal-generating ability that allows him to teleport or transfer objects. Blast first appears through a portal resembling a black hole, and later uses a portal to send a cube to an unknown location. [14] When Blast generates a portal to teleport himself along with Flashy Flash, Saitama, and Manako, he fist bumps and an infinity symbol appears on them. [15] In his fight with Garou, Blast creates multiple portals to transfer Garou's nuclear-generating attacks to another location. [16]

Fighting Style: Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Blast is shown to be skilled in close-range combat, also using his power to create portals to aid him in battle, as demonstrated during the fight with Garou.[13] Known Techniques: "Dimensional Cannon" (ディメンションキャノン, Dimenshon Kyanon): Blast fires a miniature singularity in the direction of his opponent to forcibly teleport them to another location at his discretion. He can also create multiple singularities that connect together so that the opponent is teleported to a certain position where he can attack them from their blind spots.[17] "Gravitational Knuckles" (グラビティナックル, Gurabiti Nakkuru): Blast uses gravity to enhance his fists, allowing him to deliver powerful blows. He was able to knock back Cosmic Terror Mode Garou with this attack, though the latter did not sustain any major damage.[18] "Closure" (シャット, Shatto): Blast brings his hands together to close two portals on top of each other. He can use this ability to trap his opponents in a different dimension.[19]

Mysterious Cube: Blast was seen holding a black cube when he rescued Tatsumaki 18 years ago,[20] later appearing to collect another one found by Saitama, Flashy Flash, and Manako.[21] These cubes are capable of allowing direct communication with God and distorting space and time in their proximity.[22] Blast has been collecting these items as a "hobby", teleporting them to unknown locations.[23]
