About Isagi 🧩

Isagi is a second-year high school student who played as a forward on Ichinan High School's soccer team. When he arrived at the Blue Lock facility, he became a member of Team Z for the First Selection. His main goal is to become the best forward in the world. After Blue Lock Eleven played against Japan U-20, Isagi is ranked as one of Blue Lock's best players and plays as an attacking midfielder for Bastard München during the Neo Egoist League. Unlike his fellow competitors, who were handpicked by Anri Teieri after watching them play, Isagi was personally picked by Jinpachi Ego himself after watching him play. Isagi is an ideal candidate for the type of attacker that Ego strives to create.

Appearance 🧩

Isagi is a teenager of average height and muscular build, developing a stronger and more defined physique. He has short, dark blue hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe between his deep blue eyes. While attending Ichinan High School, he wore an unbuttoned blazer over a white t-shirt and striped tie. Both his Ichinan High shirt and gym uniform are light-colored with black stripes. In Blue Lock, Isagi wears the standard attire (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore the blue #11 jersey of Team Z and the gray cleats of Team Z. During the Second Selection, he wore the #15 jersey of Team White and later switched to red. He later switched to the black #15 jersey of Team A during the Blue Lock Eleven tryouts. Isagi wears an official Blue Lock player uniform of blue color with the #11, which closely resembles the ones seen on the first cover without the Japan flag during the Japan U-20 match. As a regular for Team Germany, Isagi wears the red and black uniform with gold stripes of Bastard München as #11.

Personality 🧩

Isagi is easygoing and has a generally friendly and cheerful personality, but his simple and innocent habits often irritate those around him. He tends to avoid any childish fights between other Blue Lock competitors and tries to be a peacemaker between his friends and rivals. At the beginning of Blue Lock, Isagi is extremely insecure about himself and his ability due to being the second lowest-ranked player in Blue Lock initially and his conflicting ideas about football. As time goes on, Isagi develops a more assertive presence on and off the field, becoming the foundation of Team Z and earning the respect of some of Blue Lock's top players, who mostly have strongly assertive or dominant personalities. By the Third Selection, Isagi has the confidence, charisma, and reputation to speak openly with Rin Itoshi, one of the most talented but difficult people in Project Blue Lock. Initially, Isagi was unsure of how to proceed in Blue Lock due to having been taught an ideology during his time in high school that conflicted with what was being promoted in Blue Lock, as well as being unsure of how to be selfish. However, starting with Team Z's first victory and subsequent victories, Isagi becomes familiar with the rush of victory and the cold-blooded ruthlessness required to survive in Blue Lock. As time goes on, he becomes willing to trample on the plans and dreams of his opponents and teammates in order to score a goal and go further in Blue Lock. When it comes to football, he is ambitious and calculating, willing to change and adapt, to get the right "chemical reactions" from his teammates, to stay one step ahead of his opponents and be the best player on the field, while remaining true to his commitment to becoming the best striker in the world. He boasts an opportunistic and analytical style of play and an insatiable hunger to win by scoring goals on the field;
