Biography

Lars is the leader of the rebel army Yggdrasil and the illegitimate son of Heihachi Mishima; although Lars has known the identity of his father for some time, Heihachi was unaware of Lars' connection to him for many years. Lars became a high-ranking officer in the Tekken Force, the Mishima Zaibatsu's special military unit, at a young age. Despite his high rank, Lars regularly fought on the front lines with his subordinates, earning their respect. When Jin Kazama took over the Mishima Zaibatsu following the 5th King of Iron Fist Tournament, the Tekken Force was deployed to start war across the world. Lars began to harbor doubts about how justified the Tekken Force's actions were and eventually led the defection of half of the Tekken Force's soldiers from the Mishima Zaibatsu. From these defectors, Lars established a rebel army to oppose the Mishima Zaibatsu. During a raid by the rebel army on a Mishima Zaibatsu laboratory, Lars encountered an android resembling a young woman. Before Lars could investigate further, a battalion of G Corporation Jack robots arrived and attacked. One of them detonated, causing an explosion that killed everyone present except Lars and the android, who identified herself to Lars as Alisa Bosconovitch. Lars escaped the crumbling facility with Alisa, though the trauma of the explosion caused Lars to lose his memory. He and Alisa set off together in the hopes that Lars would regain his memory and discover Alisa's origins.

During his journey with Alisa, Lars met with his lieutenant, Tougou, though Lars had no complete recollection of him. Tougou told Lars to seek out Heihachi Mishima, as Lars had previously mentioned "the need to meet with him." Furthermore, Tougou provided Lars with the means to contact him when he was ready to resume command of his forces. Eventually, Lars and Alisa received a lead on Heihachi Mishima. After fighting off the Secret Service guarding Heihachi's residence, Lars confronted Heihachi. He defeated Heihachi and his memory returned to him, leading him to remember Heihachi's connection to him. After revealing the nature of his relationship with Heihachi, Lars pointed a gun at him and despite Alisa pleading with him not to, he pulled the trigger. Heihachi caught the bullet with his teeth and was unharmed. Before Lars could do anything else, he received a call from Tougou about an operation. Lars relented and left Heihachi Mishima's residence before continuing the confrontation. Later, Lars came into contact with Lee Chaolan, who had information regarding the Mishima Zaibatsu and the G Corporation. Lee offered to join forces with Lars, but Lars refused. Before they parted ways, Lee received a distress call from Julia Chang, who had been spying on the G Corporation for him. Lee asked Lars and Alisa to rescue Julia from the G Corporation, which they succeeded in doing.

With his memory restored, Lars set out to regroup with Tougou and assume his leadership position in the rebel army. They regrouped and enacted Operation Gemini: a dual attack on a Mishima Zaibatsu base and a G Corporation base. Following the success of the operation, they advanced to attack the G Corporation's main headquarters, the Millennium Tower. At the building's main entrance, Lars and Alisa confronted Anna Williams and a squad of G Corporation soldiers. Tougou and his men arrived to provide support, though Tougou was visibly injured. With the G Corporation soldiers engaged with the rebel army, Lars and Alisa were able to pursue and defeat Anna Williams. Kazuya Mishima, the shadow leader of the G Corporation, also emerged, but Lars and Alisa were unsuccessful in stopping him. Lars and Alisa left the tower to discover that several members of Lars' rebel army had been killed and that Tougou was mortally wounded. He died shortly after Lars caught up to him. Lars was devastated by his loss. Unbeknownst to Lars and Alisa, Raven was covertly watching them. Lars and Alisa hijacked a Zaibatsu subway train to reach the Mishima Zaibatsu Central Tower. Upon reaching the tower, the two were confronted by the robotic weapon NANCY-MI847J. Raven suddenly appeared and stopped NANCY-MI847J, telling Lars and Alisa to go ahead and confront Jin.

Nina Williams, Jin Kazama's bodyguard, attempted to thwart Lars and Alisa's infiltration, but was defeated by them. Jin emerged and he and Lars fought, though neither was able to defeat the other. Jin went to leave, but not before instructing Alisa to "deactivate safe mode and then reboot." Alisa became hostile towards Lars and seemed to have lost her memories of their time together. Jin revealed that Alisa was created to serve him and that he had been using her to monitor Lars' actions throughout their time together. Jin gave Alisa the order to kill Lars and left the tower while Lars was forced to fight her. Lars managed to defeat Alisa, causing her to flee the tower. Raven reappeared and told Lars that she knew where Jin was headed next. Lars decided to go with him to confront Jin again. Lars and Raven located an abandoned temple in the middle of the desert, said to be the home of the demon known as Azazel, or the Rectifier. Inside the temple, Lars and Raven found and confronted Kazuya once again. At the end of the fight, Kazuya realized that Lars was his half-brother. Before retreating from the temple, Kazuya warned Lars that "the fate of his family was to fight and betray each other" and that he would not be able to escape this cycle. Advancing into the heart of the temple, Lars and Raven located Azazel. Lars fought him and seemed to succeed in exhausting Azazel. Azazel told Lars that the time had come to make humanity atone for its collective sins; however, he then seemed to self-destruct in a sustained burst of blinding light.

Lars and Raven fled the temple as it collapsed. Once outside, they were confronted again by Jin, who once again attacked Alisa, forcing them to fight her. Upon being defeated, she reverted to her old self. Before closing, she expressed that it was nice that Lars treated her like a "real person". Jin mocked Lars' emotional response to Alisa's death and mocked her as "a worthless piece of trash". Furious, Lars engaged Jin in another fight. Lars defeated Jin, and Jin eventually revealed that his true motivations were to destroy Azazel after awakening him. Lars told Jin that he had already destroyed Azazel; however, Azazel emerged from the ground moments later in a golden form. Jin pierced the demon's chest with a single blow, and they both fell from the ground into the depths of the temple. Lars regrouped with Raven to leave the desert. They took Alisa to Violet Systems, where Lee promised to fix her as a favor to her and Lars in rescuing Julia. Lars then traveled alone to the Middle East, having received information that Jin Kazama had survived his encounter with Azazel and was now wandering the desert after escaping UN custody. He tracked Jin down in a town and fought off UN soldiers seeking to apprehend Kazama before leaving with Jin in tow. He took Jin to a secure Violet Systems facility that Lee had lent to Yggdrasil's cause. By this time, Jin had entered a comatose state, and his confrontation with Azazel had taken its toll. Lars reunited with Lee at the facility, as well as Alisa, whose memory had been restored thanks to Lee's efforts.

The Mishima Zaibatsu forces, again under the control of Heihachi Mishima and led by Nina Williams, soon infiltrated the Violet Systems facility in an attempt to capture Jin. Lars, Alisa, and Lee fought them off and successfully transported Jin to a different Violet Systems facility. There, Lars met a journalist who was investigating the history of the Mishima family. The journalist held a grudge against Jin from his time as the leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu and planned to kill him while he was incapacitated; Lars intervened before the journalist could make his attempt, acknowledging his hatred of Jin but telling him that Jin was the key to ending the war between the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation. The Mishima Zaibatsu eventually lost to the G Corporation and Kazuya Mishima assumed control of the world. Despite his victory, he continued to wage war. Lars consolidated his rebel army, amassed additional military strength, and began preparations for Operation Lightning, a plan to defeat Kazuya and bring peace to the world. Jin awoke from his coma months after entering and reunited with Lars, Alisa, and Lee. Lars told Jin that he was the only one who could stop the war, which Jin acknowledged and stated his intention to use his powers to kill Kazuya.

Appearance

Lars has sandy brown hair and blue eyes, with his hair tied on the right side in spikes along his back. His facial features bear some resemblance to those of his father, Heihachi Mishima. He is usually shown wearing a full military outfit, with armor on one part of the suit shaped like a lion's head, either Tekken Force armor or modified Yggdrasil armor. He often wears a cape as well.

Personality

Lars is a charismatic individual, brave and with a strong sense of justice. When the Mishima Zaibatsu no longer aligned with what he believed was right, he led a coup against them. He is clearly a man of charisma and commands the respect of his peers as nearly half of the Tekken Force decided to join his rebel army during his insurrection. He has also been shown to have a short temper as he was quick to pull a gun on his father and attempt to shoot him during Tekken 6, and became enraged at Jin Kazama when the latter mocked him and pitted his friend, Alisa Bosconovitch, against him. Lars has been shown to present his emotions clearly, expressing anger and sadness in Tekken 6, especially over the loss of his lieutenant, Tougou, but is also shown to have the ability to put his personal feelings aside in order to do what is practical and necessary. In Tekken 7, he easily puts aside his previous alliance with Raven to retrieve Jin for his own purposes, and also puts aside his dislike for Jin, persuading the Journalist to do the same, as Jin is necessary for his plans.

Lars is self-reliant, initially treating others with suspicion, such as when Lee Chaolan first proposed an alliance with him, but will trust those who have proven to be loyal to him, such as Tougou, Alisa, and (later) Lee. While he is a strategist, he also relies on others to lead him, and often used to give command of his troops to Tougou so that he himself could fight on the front lines. Lars is a pragmatic soldier, and is not afraid to bring a gun to a fistfight if it serves his purpose. Lars also has a dry sense of humor, and will occasionally joke around with his friends or speak disdainfully to his enemies. However, when it comes to his cause and the war, he is serious and level-headed, preferring practicality over sentimentality.

History

Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion: As the Mishima Zaibatsu waged war on the world, the G Corporation, led by Kazuya Mishima, rose from titanic to power and was their main opposition, leading to a worldwide conflict. Meanwhile, former Tekken Force soldiers of the Zaibatsu began a coup against the Mishima Zaibatsu. The mastermind behind this coup was Lars Alexandersson, a young and charismatic Tekken Force officer with incredible physical ability and intellect. Most importantly, he is the illegitimate son of Heihachi Mishima, and with the exception of Lars, no one, not even Heihachi, knows this information. Lars' goal is to achieve peace by defeating his half-nephew, Jin Kazama. Lars' coup becomes the basis for a rebellion whose mission is to end the war that the Zaibatsu started. The rebel army that Lars leads is called Yggdrasil. Official Strategy Guide The Mishima Zaibatsu launched a war against the world. The rise of opposition from G Corporation resulted in a global wake of carnage. In the fray, a large portion of the Zaibatsu's special military unit, the Tekken Force, defected from the organization. Lars Alexandersson led the coup and became a high-ranking officer in the Tekken Force at a fairly young age due, in part, to his renowned physical and mental prowess. Despite this high rank, Lars often fought on the front lines, making him quite popular among his subordinates. Only he knew the fact that he had inherited the Mishima bloodline through his father, Heihachi. Even Heihachi was unaware of this information.

This, coupled with his charismatic personality, made him popular among his subordinates. Only he knows that he is a descendant of none other than Heihachi Mishima. Not even Heihachi is aware of this fact. Epilogue text: Thanks to the support of a mysterious investor, Lars was able to establish a private military company called "Yggdrasil" in Northern Europe as a base for his rebel army. -Several months later- An elite squad under Lars' command was attempting to raid a Mishima Zaibatsu military complex. Final description: Two large HUMVEEs burst through the doors of the Zaibatsu building. The rebellion soldiers exit the vehicles in separate lines, moving deeper into the building and dispatching the Tekken Force who are exiting the building's elevator. The rebellion soldiers find cover behind the walls as they advance further in, stopped by the Tekken Force soldiers who continue to arrive from the elevator.

The shot shows Lars as he exits one of the HUMVEEs, walking towards the enemy Tekken Force soldiers, backlit by the headlights of the HUMVEEs still parked outside the building. Upon seeing Lars' arrival, the rebel soldiers fall back and cease return fire. A Tekken Force soldier readies a rocket launcher and fires a missile at Lars. Lars deflects the projectile, which explodes as it lands behind him. Lars charges at the enemy soldiers, incapacitating four of them in quick succession. Two Tekken Force soldiers remain, one of them aiming another missile at the remaining rebel forces. Lars attacks the Tekken Force soldier and the two are engulfed by an explosion. As the smoke and fire begin to clear, an unharmed Lars stands up and turns to his soldiers and simply says, "It's about to begin." Tekken 7: Lars, a former officer of the Mishima Zaibatsu's special military unit, the Tekken Force, enacted a coup d'état and rebelled against his former employer. Lars continues to fight despite the loss of his fallen comrades, and his bloody rebellion is far from over. Lars Alexandersson has exceptional physical ability and intelligence. At a young age, he became an officer in the Tekken Force, the special forces that the Mishima Zaibatsu is very proud of. Jin Kazama, who became the leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu, started a war against the world. Lars had doubts about Jin's methods and led many Tekken Force soldiers to carry out a coup d'état. After that, Lars survived many battles and now puts a certain plan into action. Hiding with his rebel army in a secret base, he looks for an opportunity to attack.

Summary of game events: While driving through the Middle East, Lars watches Heihachi's announcement about The King of Iron Fist Tournament 7. He finds and rescues Jin in Souq from being captured by UN soldiers, taking Jin to a facility owned by Lee for recovery. Lars later reunites with Alisa after Lee repairs her. As the three keep an eye on Jin, who is currently in a coma, Lars is about to declare his intentions for his nephew when they are suddenly attacked by the Tekken Force. Lars and his men hold off the soldiers while Alisa fights Nina. The invading Tekken Force manage to airlift Jin's hospital bed in a helicopter, but Lee hijacks the helicopter carrying Jin and activates a bomb inside the building. Lars escapes with Alisa as Lars' army evacuates. Lee then destroys the facility while Nina is still trapped inside. Lars later questions if Lee's plan was to lure the Tekken Force into the building to defeat them. Later, Lee introduces Lars to an investigative journalist who is trying to uncover the truth about the Mishima Zaibatsu. While talking to Lee, Lars reveals that he intends to use Jin to stop the war, which shocks the journalist. Later, Lars finds the journalist preparing to kill Jin in revenge for starting the war, resulting in the journalist's family being one of the casualties. Though he understands how the journalist feels, Lars stops him from killing Jin and reaffirms that he believes Jin will be the key to ending the conflict.

A few days later, Lars, Lee, Alisa, and the reporter watch Heihachi's broadcast and Kazuya's devilish form, revealed during Kazuya's fight with Akuma. At night, Lars receives a call from the Mishima Zaibatsu, informing him to pick up the reporter at a dock after his interview with Heihachi. A few hours later, everyone watches via Lee's spy satellite as Heihachi and Kazuya fight one last time inside a volcano. After Kazuya kills Heihachi, Lars stands on the rooftops of a destroyed city with Lee and Alisa, and tells the now-awake Jin that he now has to right his wrongs and end the never-ending conflict for good. Tekken 8: Lars Alexandersson is the illegitimate son of Heihachi Mishima and the leader of the rebel army fighting against the G Corp. A former officer of the Mishima Zaibatsu, Lars staged a coup against the Zaibatsu and took much of the Tekken Force personnel with him. Shortly after the coup, the world fell under the control of the G Corp led by Kazuya Mishima. Lars formed a new rebel army called Yggdrasil and amassed additional military strength to launch a revolt against the tyrant. Character Episode Prologue: Lars Alexandersson had rebelled against the Mishima Zaibatsu, forming the Yggdrasil rebel army. He strengthened his forces to oppose the Mishima Zaibatsu and the G Corporation. The immense power struggle that developed between these two massive conglomerates had brought the world and its people to the very brink of annihilation. Shortly after, he heard the announcement of The King of Iron Fist Tournament to select the next leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Lars decided to join the tournament and gain the authority he needed to end the global chaos. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we can't let it pass us by." Final description: After filming an advertising campaign video for Yggdrasil with Lars Alexandersson announcing new recruits, Lee Chaolan approaches Lars to compliment his acting ability. Alisa Bosconovitch joins in and she and Lars begin to chat, ignoring Lee. Realizing the two are too engrossed in each other to pay attention to her, Lee allows them to have their moment alone, snapping her fingers to dim the lights and give them a spotlight, with confetti falling down on them.

Summary of game events: Six months after Jin awakens, Lars initiates "Operation Lightning", sending Jin to confront Kazuya on the streets of New York. The operation fails when Jin loses control of his Devil Gene and Kazuya destroys several city blocks with a single energy blast. A week after this encounter, Lars trains with Jin, who has recently recovered from bed rest. He notices that Jin's combat style seems different and Lee approaches the two to reveal that Jin's strength has weakened to a fraction of its original level. Lars asks Jin to show him his devilish power, but Jin is unable to. Three days later, Lars and Lee discuss the tournament and intend to send Alisa to check if there will be an assassin among the participating fighters. Jin arrives and intends to join the tournament. Lars warns Jin that it may be a trap and asks if he is sure he wants to enter. Jin nods and Lars tells him that he has three days to get back into fighting shape. After the first few matches of the tournament, Lars meets with Jin, Lee, Alisa, Reina, Leo, and Leo's father Niklas to discuss the information Niklas has learned about the origin of the Devil Gene and its activation within a host. They learn that Devil activation is dependent on strong emotions, and Lars comments that Kazuya's desire for power is what helps him maintain his strength as a Devil.

During the tournament finals, Lars arrives with multiple Yggdrasil forces at the coliseum where the fights are taking place. He and Lee reunite with Victor, and the Yggdrasil forces along with the United Nations forces launch an attack on the coliseum to stop the final matches and evacuate the area. The two forces are unable to stop Kazuya from freeing Azazel from Zafina and defeating the beast to absorb its power. While Jin flees the arena for Yakushima, Lars stays behind to fight True Devil Kazuya with Victor, Reina, Lee, Alisa, Claudio, and Hwoarang. G Corporation forces are sent to Yakushima to find and capture Jin. Lars arrives at the Yakushima battlefield and a flashback sequence shows Lars enlisting the aid of Leroy, Paul, Kuma, King, Hwoarang, Steve, and Shaheen for the ensuing battle. He leads the assault with the seven tournament competitors along with Leo, Lee, Alisa, and Reina, as Yggdrasil's forces are once again joined by Victor and soldiers from the United Nations, with Raven joining them as well. After securing an area of the battlefield, Lars leads his soldiers into the fray. The fighting continues, with Lars and his forces pinned down by the overwhelming G Corporation fighters. Alisa arrives at where Lee and Lars are stationed to report the findings of her scan of the island, and Lars retreats from the battlefield to find and secure Jin.

Lars finds Jin and Xiaoyu, who have been fighting off several Jack-7s to keep Jin safe. He rescues Xiaoyu from an oncoming attack, and Kazuya arrives in his True Devil form. The two fight, and Lars is able to hold off True Devil Kazuya long enough for Jin to regain consciousness and rescue Lars before Kazuya can land a final, likely fatal, blow. In the good ending, Lars is seen in a Yggdrasil hangar greeting the ranks of Yggdrasil soldiers, Lee and Alisa.
