Choso

Choso (脹相, Chōsō?) is one of the characters in the manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. He is the older brother of Esou, Kechizu and Itadori. During the Meiji Era (between 1868-1912), Noritoshi Kamo managed to create nine cursed wombs from a young woman who could become pregnant with curses. Of the first three wombs, Choso, Esou and Kechizu, they were classified as special grade curses and ended up being sealed as special grade cursed objects and kept in the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College[1]. However, some time later, they are rescued by Mahito and decide to join his group. Although he initially seeks to kill Yuji Itadori as revenge for the death of Esou and Kechizu, after the events of the Shibuya Incident arc and discovering that Itadori is his brother, Choso has now become one of his allies to free to Satoru Gojo of the Confining Prison.

Appearance

Description Choso is one of the few hybrid characters in the series. With a human body, quite tall and well-built, he has dark brown hair tied in two buns and bangs that fall messily on his face. On the bridge of his nose, he has a strange line[2], which sometimes bleeds. He wears a beige long-sleeved shirt with a purple sweater. He wears light-colored baggy pants and a black scarf.[3] In the false memories that occurred in Chapter 106, he was gathered together with his brothers, including Yuji Itadori. Personality

Unlike other cursed spirits, Choso is shown most of the time as someone who is reserved[1], stoic and quite moody[2][4]. In battle, he does not tend to show much interest in the affairs of others and prefers to wait patiently for orders that he must follow, even if the situation displeases him or finds it exhausting [4] [5]. He is only kind to his brothers and shows interest in matters related to them. His life is completely governed by his family ties and connections, to the point that Choso's only reason for living is his younger brothers. He is willing to do everything they want to always see them happy. For example, with Esou and Kechizu, they are considered three parts of the same body and only exist to help each other[1]. Because he is overly sentimental towards them, Mechamaru considers the trio of brothers to be easily manipulated [6]. Despite being reserved and indifferent, he showed some appreciation for Mahito after he rescued him, however, he does not allow his emotions to interfere with third parties. After the death of his younger brothers, a strong thirst for revenge and desire to murder those responsible for what happened grows in him [2]. However, after his confrontation in Shibuya against Itadori, Choso begins to doubt his desire for revenge as he begins to have dreams and memories that he never really lived in which he lives with Itadori and the two deceased brothers. of the. He is able to combine his physical prowess with his technique in order to put his opponent in a bind and not give him an advantage during the fight[3]. His attacks can be enhanced when he activates Flowing Red Scale[3] or covers his fists with his own blood[4]. Most of his movements are improvised and he usually makes use of all the limbs of his body to fight, even combining simultaneous punches and kicks. [3] Although he is not a master of martial arts, he has shown great agility in the use of them. [4] With his current level of ability, he was able to deliver several physical blows to Yuji Itadori until he completely defeated him and left him on the verge of death[4]. He was also able to take on the special grade shaman, Suguru Geto[5]. Durability: He possesses a high level of durability that allows him to endure long periods in battle.[4] Despite feeling tired, if the goal is to rescue one of his brothers, he confessed that he will fight until the end even if it costs him his life.[5] His durability in a confrontation can be reinforced when he surrounds his body with his own blood, which allows him to avoid receiving blows that could be fatal.[4] He is able to withstand high-powered punches and kicks, even being able to withstand attacks from Yuji Itadori and his Divergent Fist[3] and was even able to withstand blows from Suguru Geto[5].

Cursed Power and Techniques

Cursed Technique: Choso's cursed technique is known as the "Blood Manipulation Technique" (赤血操術, Sekketsu Sōjutsu?). A technique that allows him to manipulate and control his own blood beyond its natural form or movement for a variety of effects. The biggest disadvantage is that he has a limit to the amount of his own blood he can handle and depending on his misuse, it could cause a great loss of blood and result in immediate death. [6] Because he is a hybrid, he can convert his blood into cursed energy, so as long as he has energy he cannot die from blood loss. [7] The derivative techniques he can use are: "Flowing Red Scale" (赤鱗躍動, Sekirin Yakudō?) (lit. "Flowing Red Scale: Spread" (赤鱗躍動・載, Sekirin Yakudō・Fuka?) (lit. Dynamic Red Phosphorus: Spread): An enhanced variant of Flowing Red Scale that manipulates his blood to increase his body's capabilities more quickly. Generally used when Choso is unable to make use of his own blood and must resort to hand-to-hand combat. "Exorcising Saw" (苅祓, Karibarai?): Allows the release of torrents of blood that take the form Choso desires. The technique is capable of passing through human bodies.[8] "Convergence" (百斂, Byakuren?): Choso is able to increase his blood pressure and condense external blood to its limit[3]. The technique can be nullified if it comes into contact with too much water. Water will cause the blood to start to thicken and prevent manipulation.

"Supernova" (超新星, Chōshinsei?): After increasing blood pressure and condensing external blood to its limit through Convergence to create multiple small orbs of blood[9], Choso causes the orbs to shoot out in all directions like a pellet. Blood Penetration (穿血, Senketsu?): After increasing blood pressure and condensing external blood to its limit through Convergence[9], Choso puts his hands together and shoots out a jet of blood from his fingertips. "Blood Cut" (血刃, Ketsujin?): Allows one to shape and strengthen some of the lethality of one's blood by rotating it at high speed through the use of a knife.[3] The technique is only useful in hand-to-hand combat. "Blood Meteor" (, Blood Meteor?): Allows him to harden some of his blood into any shape he wants and throw it at his opponent with great precision. It doesn't have much speed, but it can be lethal. Choso is also capable of using the "Extreme Corrosion Technique" (蝕爛腐術, Shokuran Fujutsu?), an innate technique that allows him to decompose any object or person that comes into contact with his blood.

Instruments and weapons

Choso has no professional training in the use of weapons or cursed tools due to having spent over 150 years in confinement in the form of a cursed womb[1]. Despite not being specialized in the art of weapons, with his own blood he is able to manipulate it into the form of a weapon and use it effectively. Some of the tools used throughout the series are: "Blood Knife" (血液ナイフ, Ketsueki Naifu?)[3]: It is a weapon created through Choso's manipulation of blood and is shaped like a knife.
