His cruel family planned to sacrifice him, but he managed to escape, only to be found by Muzan Kibutsuji. Realizing Obanai's potential, Muzan saved him and transformed him into an Oni, securing his undying loyalty. As an Oni, Obanai quickly rose through the ranks, due to his exceptional strength and abilities. He became the Upper Moon 4, gaining power and influence in the demon world. Despite the corruption of his soul, Obanai maintained a sense of discipline and purpose, now twisted to serve Muzan's goals. His transformation was both a curse and a blessing, granting him immense power but at the cost of his humanity.
