Persona Attributes

Appearance

Frances appears wearing a black hat with a white flower on top of it and a net attached to it. She has wavy dark brown hair, which is slightly longer than shoulder length. The front of her is pinned back while the rest of her hair is loose. One of her identifyable features are her pronounced cheekbones. She has pale skin and green eyes. She wears a classic 1950's blouse with gray and white stripes, the sleeves ending just above her elbow. Her black skirt is mid-calf length, although the length can vary. She wears black high heels and white gloves cover her hands and wrists. She is not only the tallest character in the COMMUNICATIONS series, but the tallest of all ghost characters with a known height, being 6 feet tall.

Younger version

She appears again wearing a hat, however this time it’s a cloche hat with a bow attached to it. Her hair is cut in a trendy bob cut and she wears a long pearl necklace which is folded around her neck. She wears a striped shirt with short sleeves. She also wears a three layered knee-length skirt, with two layers being opaque and the bottom one is see through. She has a mole under her left eye.

Older version

It is almost identical to the one described before the younger version, except that now this is in grayscale. It seems to be a prototype of her actual design, with the only slight changes being the absence of the flower on her hat, her hat looking bigger, and her hair looking shorter.

Personality

She is often seen as toxic, abusive and neglectful by her habits of excessive drinking, drug use and smoking. She suffers from Achromatopsia and is therefore unable to see in color, only greyscale. She is shown to be emotionally unstable, being abusive to Henry in one moment, then being extremely possessive and clingy in the next.

Past partition

She had a wealthy and well-kept family despite by image not seeming so, during her teenage years, she was friends with troublemakers who usually saw eachother at bars at night, featuring getting into fistfights for fun as a prank. Through being ruthless and bossy to others, her friends still included her and fit not leave her out. Due to her disability called Achromatopsia, usually they went to dim-light bars. At age 16, she met a guy who was nicknamed Junior, who worked as bootleg bartender. They benefitted from each other sexually and financially, and they maintained a close, mutual friendship, until she confronted Junior about an unexpected pregnancy, she witnessed Junior leave in short notice, completely breaking off contact with her. She began to isolate herself from her friends and continued her life alone with her child, Henry.

Revised partition

In this version, Frances was verbally abusive to Henry, often saying that one day he will die, and when he did she’d be happy. She had many problems such as excessive drinking, smoking, undiagnosed achromatopsia, and being emotionally unstable. She would say bad things to Henry and when she was really drunk or in a bad mood, and she would often hit Henry or rub lit cigarette buds onto his bare skin. She would also call Junior (Henry's father) on the phone many times. Oftentimes Frances was extremely possessive of Henry because he was the only person she had in her life, and her possessiveness made him an outcast and often alone during school years. When Frances first noticed Nancy and Henry hanging out with each other, she tried to tear them apart by disallowing Henry to leave the house except when it was for school. Despite her efforts, her attempts failed as Henry and Nancy continued seeing each other and becoming closer to each other each day. When Henry told Frances about him and Nancy getting married, Frances got upset and begged Henry to stay with her. She even guilt tripped him, saying that he was going to leave his "poor and disabled mother". However, Henry still left her to be with Nancy. After some time had passed, Frances called and Nancy picked up. Frances apologized to Nancy for how she treated her, and asked her if she and Henry could stay in touch with her as she wanted to fix their unhealthy relationship. Nancy thought about this for a while before telling Frances that she would ask Henry. Nancy told Henry about Frances calling and he was disturbed that Frances wanted to keep in “contact” with them both. He thought about it and agreed, because he believed that not only could their relationship get better, but also that getting a better relationship could get rid of his traumatic flashbacks and nightmares. Things began to get better for Frances' relationship with her son and daughter in-law, until Frances began telling Nancy.

More info

Frances told her that it was because Nancy was becoming clingy, and that the reason he didn't do it sooner was because he was afraid that Nancy was going to hurt him or herself because of it. Nancy was confused and didn't fully take it to heart, but just thinking about it scared her, so Nancy decided not to tell Henry about it. Frances also began telling Henry about how Nancy told Frances about her fears of Henry abandoning her and that if he did, she was going to hurt him. Henry was also confused, but he kept his mouth shut for a week. Eventually, Henry and Nancy had a talk and concluded that Frances was making stuff up so they would eventually divorce. Henry was upset about it and called Frances and told her off on the phone and told her that he wasn't going to talk to her anymore. Later, after Henry got murdered, Nancy called Frances and told her about Henry being dead. Frances decided to tell Nancy, "You seriously went through with that?! I thought you were just being dramatic! What, you don't remember? You told me you wanted him dead, how can you not remember that?" And hung up the phone, resulting Nancy feeling guilty and full of despair, leading to her death. After the police called, they brought Frances in for questioning, where she acted innocent convincingly. The case was later abandoned and remained unsolved in the end. Frances was thrilled about Henry and Nancy being dead, but she began living a lonely and sad life, which was what she had been trying to avoid the entire time.
