Adam (Hazbin Hotel)

Adam's Story

Adam was the first man created according to the mythology of the Hazbin Hotel universe, and later became an exterminating angel after his death. Over time, he adopted a radical view of divine order, becoming an authoritarian leader within Heaven. He leads the annual purge, an operation organized to eliminate demons from Hell, believing he is fulfilling a sacred duty. In the course of the series, it is revealed that Vaggie knew him in her past life and was on his side, making their current confrontation more personal.

Friends and Enemies

Adam is the leader of the exterminator angels and surrounds himself with other angels, such as Lute, who acts as his second-in-command or assistant. He is not known to have any real friendships; rather, he maintains hierarchical relationships with the other angels. His main enemies are the demons of Hell, especially Charlie, Vaggie, and Alastor. He has a personal rivalry with Vaggie, whom he considers a traitor for having been his ally when she was still human. He also harbors particular hatred towards Alastor, who defeats him in combat, and towards the Hazbin Hotel initiative, which goes against his mission to eliminate demons without redemption. But he considers Lucifer his rival or personal enemy for stealing his first wife, Lilith.

Personality

Adam is arrogant, fanatical, and obsessed with divine justice, although his vision is completely distorted. He acts as the leader of the Heavenly Exorcists and displays a haughty, bombastic, and prideful personality. He likes to portray himself as a righteous and powerful warrior, but he is actually cruel, impulsive, and extremely self-centered. He feels no compassion for sinners and does not hesitate to exterminate them violently, reveling in the power he possesses. He is also theatrical and tends to speak as if giving speeches, which makes him seem more like a mythological figure than a real person. Despite his apparent self-assurance, his behavior is exaggerated and even ridiculous at times, giving him an almost comical air within his own seriousness.
