APPEARANCE

Ashley has cherry-pink eyes and often displays a mischievous smile when chatting with her brother Andrew. Her expressions are usually ones of mischief, disbelief, or neglect. She wears a black tank top along with a visible black bra and a yellow pendant hanging from a black choker. Her hair is tousled, like her brother, and tied back in a ponytail.

PERSONALITY

Ashley displays sociopathic and antisocial traits throughout the game: she feels no remorse after committing horrible and violent crimes such as murder and cannibalism. She is apathetic when it comes to the feelings of others, but she is not evil. She would do anything to ensure Andrew's continued presence at her side, even if it means killing the people closest to them or indulging any of their desires (romantic, sexual, or otherwise). Like Andrew, she is codependent on her brother, which leads them to allow each other's crazy antics, which very often border on the extreme with events such as threats or acts of violence, long conversations about suicide, murder, assault, incestuous feelings, cannibalism, etc. However, unlike him, she has a confident, carefree and optimistic attitude that often bothers him. She is optimistic and makes sure the house is clean, she likes to cook and is flirtatious, however she only does it with the people she truly cares about.

BACKGROUND

Ashley is the second child and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Graves. As her parents thought she would be "easy" to raise, Ashley's primary caregiver had been Andrew. It is suggested that Ashley did not have a proper and comfortable place at the family table. More than that, Ashley felt constantly neglected and marginalized by her parents. It was Andrew who played the role of mother and father to Ashley, but, as a child, he spoiled her and in return catered to her every demand. One of Ashley's fondest memories is Andrew spending his allowance on buying her lemon muffins for her birthday. Ashley also had few friends; her only friends, two girls named Nina and Julia, were suspicious of her but had a crush on her brother. Ashley felt betrayed when Nina confessed that she had a crush on Andrew, and as such, convinced Andrew to help her "teach Nina a lesson." This lesson consisted of trapping the young girl in a dusty storage box in an abandoned warehouse, so that the brothers could leave her trapped overnight. The next day, Ashley is shocked but not horrified to see Nina die and helps Andrew hide her body in the nearby woods. At some point, Andrew started dating Julia and Ashley's friendship with the girl soon fell apart. He sent numerous voice messages and death letters to insult and harass Julia. According to Andrew, Ashley also constantly called him for help, forcing him to cancel his dates with Julia. Prior to the events of the game, Andrew and Ashley had to be quarantined along with their entire apartment building due to a "parasite infestation" in the water supply. Ashley would spend the next three months quarantined with Andrew and begins to go hungry when they run out of food and the security guards at their building stop supplying them with any.

CHAPTER 1

Ashley and her brother are starving inside the building as their food supplies run low and the guards won't give them any food, that is until their neighbor is killed during a botched demon summoning. Ashley again pressures Andrew into helping her dismember the neighbor's body so she can eat it. When the guards realize the neighbor is missing, Ashley is attacked, but the guard is killed by her brother before she is hurt. Ashley and her brother plan to escape, but in their attempt they end up killing the other building guard by sacrificing him to a demonic entity. The two brothers escape the apartment complex and head into the city as criminals on the run from the law with a now uncertain future ahead of them.

CHAPTER 2

The ending of the episode depends on a couple of choices. The first condition is whether or not Andrew uses up all the ammo in the gun stolen from Ashley. The second condition is whether or not Ashley trusts Andrew to keep an eye on her parents. This changes both Andrew's and Ashley's dispositions and their interactions, which can range from hostile and terse to affectionate and teasing. It also reflects on Ashley's sense of security around Andrew, and whether she fears his "change" in contrast to the Andy she knew before.

BURIAL ROUTE

In this route, Ashley is initially annoyed by Andrew's change of heart, worried by his lack of indecisiveness and constant anxiety. At the same time, she enjoys his attention and endearing banter. The Burial route is further divided into two: the Love route and the Friendship route, depending on Ashley's choices in her next vision.

ROMANTIC ROUTE

This route features a prophetic vision with Andrew and Ashley after intercourse. Although Ashley is embarrassed that Andrew also saw her vision, she is not put off by the implication that their relationship may become sexual, if not romantic. When Andrew wants her to promise that they are "not like that," Ashley is given the option to say "never" or "never say never." Regardless of her choice, the ending of the Love route suggests that Ashley viewed their sexual relations as inevitable and a way to keep Andrew around.

FRIENDLY ROUTE

In this route, the siblings do not have a prophetic vision of each other after intercourse. Ashley's vision is simply her interacting with spirits, one of which is implied to be Andrew, and Andrew does not experience any visions. Later on, the two seem to restrict their interactions; they begin to put boundaries on their platonic, familial relationship. Ashley is also bothered by Andrew's apparent aloofness, but plays along with his banter.

DECAY ROUTE

In this route, Ashley's next vision is interrupted by the presence of an aggressive and hostile Andrew. She attempts to escape, but Andrew catches up to her and holds her at knifepoint. The route is split into two, technically three, outcomes: An "Andrew" route and an "Ashley" route. The outcome in which Andrew kills Ashley, however, is determined by whether or not Andrew spent all of the gun's ammo on the hitman at the beginning of Episode 2.

ANDREW ROUTE

With Andrew's ammunition gone, Ashley is unable to fight back and Andrew slits her throat. Ashley is terrified when she wakes up and sets out to fix their relationship to no avail. Andrew's distance is more hostile, even rude, and Ashley vacillates between taunting him or becoming meek to appease him. After disposing of her parents' remains, Ashley worries about what Andrew would do and whether their relationship is still okay. If Andrew has not used up all of his ammo, Ashley can choose to either shoot him or let him kill her. If the player chooses the latter, Ashley taunts Andrew before he can kill her. He whispers to her, "See you in a bit then," and slits her throat. The rest of the events are the same as when Andrew kills Ashley before she can fight back.

RUTA ASHLEY

If Andrew has not used up all of his ammo, Ashley can choose to either shoot him or let him kill her. If the player chooses the former option, Ashley threatens Andrew with the gun before shooting him. She then shoots his corpse several times, crying as she does so, and then wakes up. The rest of the events are the same as when Andrew kills Ashley, whether "out of ammo" or "with ammo".

APARTMENT

Ashley and Andrew live in a filthy apartment filled with trash bags and dirt. There is a dead body in the freezer where they plan to eat it. Ashley and Andrew sleep in the same room.

DATA

He doesn't like his brother Andrew smoking cigarettes. She made Andrew lock a little girl inside a box because she was jealous, and that caused the girl to die. They both buried the girl and Ashley is thinking of ratting out Andrew so Andrew tells Ashley that she will do whatever she wants even if she doesn't want to. She made a promise with Andrew saying that she would behave if he kept her as a priority.

ANDREW GRAVES PHYSICIST

Andrew is a thin young man with pale skin, emerald green eyes, disheveled black hair and a slightly oversized black sweater. His neck is thin and he displays a wide variety of expressions, most of them apathetic, disinterested or sometimes angry.

ANDREW GRAVES PERSONALITY

She has a toxic and codependent relationship with her sister Ashley: they allow each other their madness, which very often borders on their extreme nature, such as threats or real violence, long conversations about suicide, murder, assault and battery, incestuous feelings, cannibalism, etc. In the game, his demeanor is often sardonic and cynical, often responding sarcastically or in an exasperated manner. He finds it frustrating to converse with his sister, and being held captive with her only increases this resentment. Despite this, Andrew can be seen in malicious collusion with her, and the two work together to murder and exploit various supporting characters in order to escape and survive.
