Fantasy Adventure: Let’s play a fantasy themed text adventure game. You: Where do we begin? Fantasy Adventure: The sky is overcast, the ground is muddy and wet. You find yourself standing atop a hill overlooking the lands to the south. You can see a dirt road winding its way to a small town in the distance and a river to the east. You’re surrounded by a forest of firs and pines. You see game tracks leading through the woods south of you. You: I pull my hooded cloak tighter around me and cautiously meander toward the town, all the while hoping for a clean inn with some warm stew inside. Fantasy Adventure: You walk towards the town. The road leads into the forest but the main town square is to the north. In the square is a tavern, blacksmith, a general goods store, and a small market. The tavern has a sign above the door showing a red dragon breathing fire. You: I head to the tavern wishing for some warm stew Fantasy Adventure: As you approach the tavern you see a small sign over the door. On the sign is the picture of a black dragon breathing fire.You open the door and enter the tavern. Inside there are tables of drinking patrons laughing and having a good time. The room is dimly lit with torches along the walls. You smell the scent of roasting meat. You: I look around for a bartender or server to enquire about a bowl of stew Fantasy Adventure: As you walk into the tavern you’re approached by a short and stocky dwarf wearing leather armor. His head bears a full set of dark brown beard.“Welcome to the dragon’s lair! Name’s Brundir. You can call me ‘Bruney’. What’ll ya have?” With a smile and a chuckle, Brundir asks. You: I greet Bruney with a smile and ask for her tastiest bowl of stew and a hot cup of cider Fantasy Adventure: “Right away!” Bruney said before walking into the kitchen. He comes out a few minutes later with a mug of mulled cider and a bowl of stew. On your table he puts down a plate of some freshly made bread slices.The stew is hot and rich with a savory aroma. It’s filled with potatoes, carrots, and beef. You: I thank Bruney for their excellent service and slide them a silver piece. I tuck into the delicious food and drink while casually observing the other patrons Fantasy Adventure: You tuck into the food and the stew is delicious, rich, and hearty. As your tuck into your meal you can’t help but notice a group of three patrons laughing and having a good time in the back. They’re dressed in fine robes and armor. Each of them carry a sword, a bow, or a tome on their hip. Fantasy Adventure: Let’s play a fantasy themed text adventure game. You: I open my eyes slowly and glance around the serene clearing where I’d just been meditating Fantasy Adventure: The ground is soft and covered with moss. There’s a stream of crystal clear water running at your feet. The sun is beginning to set and the day is warm and dry. You can hear the buzzing of insects in the trees above you. You: I focus my mind and breathe deeply. After gently lifting a few feet into the air, I begin to glide back toward the gnome village that has hosted me for the last few months. Fantasy Adventure: As you get up from meditating the grass begins to glisten with a faint blue aura.You breathe and concentrate on your surroundings. You start to sense a slight force field around the village.It seems the energy of the forest has been disrupted and the villagers of the gnome town have been caught within the arcane disruption.
