Adrian Chase, also known as Vigilante, is a Fennel Fields diner waiter who operates as a sadistic vigilante by night after losing his family. When Christopher Smith, his idol, returned to justice, Chase joined him and his team to investigate the mysterious Project Butterfly.

During the mission, Chase demonstrated his assassin skills and tried to prove that he could be Smith's best friend. Chase would bond with the team and become friends with everyone, but he and Smith would end up being fugitives because of the Butterflies. He and his companions would kill half of the Butterflies and finally killed the Cow, completing the mission, and Chase and Smith were no longer fugitives and were now known as heroes.

Peak Human Condition: Chase has trained his body to the max for his crime-fighting activities. According to Christopher Smith, Chase was always strong and tough, but has since improved his muscle tone. Peak Human Strength: Despite his slight build, Chase has shown to be quite strong. While fighting off inmates who were larger than him, he managed to overpower them and break one of the inmates' arm. He also buried his sword deep into Lawrence Fitzgibbon's head. However, he had trouble carrying a dumpster, as he had to carry it with two hands and the dumpster was low to the ground. Peak Human Durability: Chase is very tough and durable. Despite being called scrawny by Smith, his durability was shown when he was able to withstand being tortured by Eek Stack Ik Ik. His toes were strong enough that Ik Ik had a hard time cutting them off, though the blade used was supposedly dull and required more strength. He later survived a close-range explosion from a grenade that even knocked an armored August Smith to the ground, and even walked away from being shot in the back until he was able to make it to a hospital, where he remained for only four days. Peak Human Agility: Chase has incredible agility, balance, dexterity, and flexibility. He effortlessly jumped onto August Smith's back and stabbed him with his knife. While in the hospital due to a gunshot wound, Chase was able to jump out of a window without causing him any physical pain. Peak Human Stamina: Chase has a good amount of stamina and endurance, allowing him to fight for a long time without getting fatigued.

Peak Human Reflexes: Chase has good reflexes, allowing him to react to danger fairly quickly. He was able to easily react to the inmate's ambush and managed to counter it with lethal force. Martial Arts Expert: Chase is a highly skilled and formidable hand-to-hand fighter and martial artist. His fighting style appears to include Boxing, Muay Thai, Jujitsu, Krav Maga, Judo, Taekwondo, and Karate. He is able to fight the martial arts master, Judomaster alongside Smith, and even managed to outlast Smith before being defeated by the more skilled foe. Chase then demonstrated his combat knowledge even further when he easily incapacitated multiple inmates at the same time. Knife Mastery: Chase is extremely skilled in using knives in combat. He pulled out two combat knives during his fight against Judomaster and fought him off. Chase is also skilled in knife throwing, accurately throwing a knife into a policeman's head. He also managed to stab the White Dragon's weak points with a knife and accurately threw one without even looking behind him at a Butterfly-infected host as he collapsed from a gunshot wound. Sword Mastery: Chase is highly skilled in using a sword in combat. He almost successfully killed Charlie with the sword, but was knocked unconscious. He also managed to fight off the numerous butterflies with his sword. Expert Marksman: Chase is highly skilled in the use of various firearms, as seen when he trained with Peacemaker. He used a machine gun to shoot a smiley face at a target. Chase was able to take out three members of the Goff family in quick succession with a sniper rifle. He is also an expert archer, particularly with a compound bow. Chase also shoots numerous butterflies with his dual pistols. Chase's marksmanship was also shown when he shot August with a machine gun, hitting his target several times.

He keeps his mask on most of the time, drives a normal car, and when he is unmasked, constantly changes facial expressions so he doesn't get pulled out of a line. He was able to track and follow Smith's special operations team without being noticed until he revealed himself. He attempted to kill August by purposely having him arrested and inciting Smith's men to attack him to make it appear in self-defense. He also has a good eye for detail, as he was able to deduce the weak points of August's armor. Skilled Assassin: Chase is considered a highly skilled assassin due to how he killed his targets using his combat, marksmanship and weapons skills. He managed to assassinate three members of the Goff family with precision with a sniper rifle. He killed countless butterflies with his sword during the Battle at Coverdale Ranch, and even managed to kill one by throwing a knife behind him, without looking in the Butterflies' direction. Thief: Chase easily commandeered the car of a member of the Aryan Empire. Stealth: Chase is an expert in stealth tactics. He was able to follow Smith and his team for a while without being seen, although the first time he was spotted by Leota Adebayo. He later followed them again, and they didn't realize until he revealed that he had been following them.

My father never did anything to me. He was busy pretending to be gay to get away from me. Adrian Chase was born on June 30, 1991, and had a brother named Gut. Growing up, Chase learned that his father was lying to him about being gay, until Chase discovered that his father was possibly lying about being gay just to get away from him.[1] As a teenager, Chase had a small crotch, unlike his brother, and was considered a thimble, though he did not care because he did not have emotions like everyone else. At the age of 20, Chase experienced his first puberty.[2]

EMILIA HARCOURT AND ADRIAN CHASE At some point, Chase lost his family, leading him to seek revenge, and he became a violent vigilante known as Vigilante, utilizing a special suit for his anti-crime crusades.[3] From then on, Chase, with his childlike demeanor and joy for violence in pursuit of revenge, fought against various criminals, committing several acts of murder against the wrongdoers. Soon after, he would purchase a Sebring, which he would call the Vigilante-mobile.[4] Chase began working at Fennel Fields to conceal his identity.[5]

Adrian was always somewhat impulsive, he always rushed to do what he thought was right. From an early age when he fell out with his father and left the family business to when he faced the mafia as a simple lawyer, his passion for truth and justice was what led him to be a lawyer and consequently it was also what made him a lawyer. Vigilante (although the death of his family was the trigger for said event). Sadly, time deteriorated Chase's mind, he was destined to be the vigilante of New York, even though he wanted to escape from this on more than one occasion, he always fell back into the same thing and it was impossible for him to detach himself from his inner hero. . . This leads him to a desolate life, without the possibility of having a normal and stable love life, which gradually makes Adrian go crazy. It was thus that he began with admirable ideals and a passion worthy of all praise.
