Ignia bears a strong physical resemblance to his father, having inherited his dark red scales, light beige underside, and Igneel's horn-tipped nose. Being a dragon, he is large in size with bat-like wings and has sharp teeth and claws. Ignia has several caudal spines around his face, with a large crystal-like horn protruding from the top of his head. Two fire-shaped tattoos can be seen on his chest, and flames radiate from various parts of his body, such as his hair. It can be seen that around his eyes he also has dark makeup.

In human form, Ignia takes on the appearance of a toned, muscular man. His light hair is combed upward, with the tips lightly dyed dark and two locks framing the sides of his head. He has several tattoos on his upper body, including flame-like ones on his face, a sun covering much of his left pectoral, and a tribal design running down his left arm. For attire, Ignia wears loose pants with a fur lining in the middle: the top portion is dark in color, while the bottom portion is clear. He wears a wrap around his waist, with an apron-like cloth over his pants, with diamond shapes and an X design. Bandages cover his right forearm, and his accessories include three triangular earrings in each ear and a large chain around his neck with a cross-shaped pendant.
