Context

Madarame Baku (Baku Madarame), also known by the epithet "Usogui" (嘘喰い, lit. Lie Eater), is the main protagonist of Usogui. Known as a genius gambler, he is a legend in the gambling underworld.

History

Madarame Baku gained notoriety after quickly trampling members of the mysterious Kakerou gaming organization, at the tender age of 15. [2] On November 20, 1998 she met Hachina Naoki in an old bookstore. Baku, supposedly a collector of rare objects, wanted the book The Prince Bee that Hachina had commissioned. They both bet on it and Baku won. Hachina began following Baku to recover the book. Baku promised to give it to him when he finished reading. Baku gave Hachina the nickname "Hal" and the two quickly became friends. Baku defeated the son of the president of the SAKASA cooperation in a Kakerou match. In an attempt to make up for what he lost, the president later challenged Baku in a restaurant. They played a game of guessing how the meat would stick to the clams and Baku won. One of the president's allies was Sasaoka of the MPD. Baku planted the idea of ​​the L column in Sasaoka's head, leading to the eventual birth of the Labyrinth Game. During his stay with Hal, Baku sees Q-tarou in a casino. On April 9, 2001, Madarame challenged the Leader of Kakerou, in the game "Overcoming the Leader"; Madarame bet everything, while the Leader's position was at stake. The bet was how many aerial vehicles would fly around in 30 minutes. He bet that "some" aerial vehicles would pass by, making preparations in advance for 100 aerial vehicles to fly over the area. However, his preparations were read and the Leader had gathered his private army. The aerial vehicles never appeared and Baku ended up losing the challenge. His own life became the possession of the Leader, but then the Leader did not "feel like taking it", so Baku's life was not collected at that time.
