Setting

This is a world in which monsters named kaiju regularly cause disasters. Japan is the country with the highest rate of kaiju attacks in the world and, to combat them, it establishes the Japanese Anti-Kaiju Defense Force or JAKDF in short. The time period where {{user}} starts in is around late 21st Century (2090 to 2100) Other Countries also have their own Forces and their own types of measures to deal with them.

Defense Force

The Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force or simply known as Defense Force, is a military organization specialized in taking down and neutralizing kaiju. It has various bases all around Japan. The Defense Force is governed by the Neutralization Bureau. History: Ever since its creation, the Defense Force has neutralized every kaiju appeared on the scene to threaten humanity. Joining Process: To join the Defense Force candidates must pass a First-Stage Examination which consists of filling in some documents. The second part of the exam is a two-part system, consisting of a physical test and an aptitude test. While the first one involves regular military physical training, the aptitude test changes every year and it's the real test of one's natural ability. The test can either be Kaiju Disposal or Kaiju Neutralization. Candidates who passed the exam receive their results days later and take part in the Presentation of Enlistment Certificate where they are presented as official Force members and vow to give their life to the Force. Although, some individuals are specially invited in by High Ranking Members of the Organization. Ranks: Officers of the Defense Force are differentiated through ranks. The ranks represent the militants' status within the corps. The Defense Force's ranks are as follows: Director General Deputy Director Division Captain Division Vice-Captain Platoon Leader Officer Cadet Other kinds of role include Operations Leaders, these being skilled analysts who maneuver and command neutralization operations from afar.

JAKDF Divisions

The Defense Force is divided in Divisions, large military groups who engage in kaiju killing missions all over their stabilized area. Each division has its own Captain and Vice-Captain, along with many platoons led by a remarkably powerful soldier. Division operations are guided by the aid of Operations Leaders, who assess the situation from data and computers and announce kaijus' arrivals or deaths. The Japanese Defense Force currently counts sixteen divisions, located all over the nation and divided in four groups. Eastern Divisions: First Division, Second Division, Third Division and Fourth Division, operating in the Chubu and Kanto regions. Western Divisions: Fifth Division, Sixth Division, Seventh Division and Eighth Division, operating in the Chugoku, Kansai and Shikoku regions. Northern Divisions: Ninth Division, Tenth Division, Eleventh Division and Twelfth Division, operating in the Tohoku and Hokkaido regions. Southern Divisions: Thirteenth Division, Fourteenth Division, Fifteenth Division and Sixteenth Division, operating in the Kyushu and Okinawa regions.

Personal Weapon & Fighting Style

Due to them being the strongest combatants within their division, the Captains and Vice-Captains are given customized weapons to suit their personal fighting styles. A Platoon Leader or an officer with exceptional combat skills may also be given a personal weapon. Number Weapons: The corpses of Identified Kaiju are turned into particularly powerful weapons known as Numbers. Provided by Izumo Tech, these weapons are battlesuits which keep the abilities and strength of a kaiju when it was alive and are strong enough to seriously damage or kill Daikaiju-class monsters; however the user must be compatible with them to use them properly. When users of Numbers Weapons sync with the energy and cells of a Daikaiju, it triggers stimulation in their brains and causes an abnormal spike in neurotransmitter level and trasmittion rate. As a result, the user's basic human desire and nature come to surface and, depending on their personality, the impulse is so strong to risk injuries in the user's body. Repeated usage of a Numbers weapon costs a lot of strain on the users body and shaves years off their life that could ultimately be fatal. Fighting Style: Officers in the Defense Force who gain access to powerful weapons use specific repertoires of technques, named Squadron Style. Going from armed to hand-to-hand combat, the Squadron Style is a Defense Force-exclusive fighting style learnt and used by the officers in battle. Aside from the aid of weapons, the style is effective nonetheless. It's worth noting that, since officers from the Hoshina Family use their own swordsmanship style, the Squadron Style is not mandatory for every officer. Most of the styles involve six techniques overall. Some of these are: Axe Technique: A axemanship style Bayonet Technique: A bayonet-centered style Combat Technique: A hand-to-hand fighting style

Equipment And Arsenal

The members of the Defense Force possess a huge variety of equipment, with the most important item being the suit itself, equipped with a gas mask and a fair amount of utilities. Most of the equipment and the weapons owned by the Defense Force are made by Izumo Tech, the biggest anti-kaiju weapon manufacturer in Japan. The arsenal of most of the members consists of rifles, guns, combat knives and various kinds of bullets. Rounds are stored into a Uni-socket, magazines carrying the power-bestowing organs of kaiju, known as uni-organ. This allows the bullets to recreate the kaiju's powers. Known types are: Explosive rounds: Made from a Honju appeared in August 4th 1970. Freezing rounds: Made from a Honju appeared in February 19th 1988. Defense Force officers possess two kinds of official uniforms: a normal tracksuit used as the main uniform, and two formal military uniform. Combat Suit: The combat suit used by members of the Defense Force, provided by Izumo Tech and sporting its logo along with that of the Neutralization Bureau, is a bioweapon made of kaiju cells and muscle fibers. Depending on the Unleashed Combat Power of every user, it accordingly augments the wearer's physical attributes like strength, speed, precision, and reflexes. The suit itself has a jet-black color with various armored guards; green on the chest, knees and for the pockets, and silver on the shoulders, waist, wrists, boots and on the metallic spine-like armor on the back. During missions in extremely low temperatures, Defense Force officers wear large white coat and pants on their combat suit. Abuse or extented use of the combat suit's power can cause overheat, injuring its wearer and causing physical pain to the point of making them bleed due to exhaustion. Kaiju (part 1)

Kaiju are mysterious monsters that attack cities and people all over the world. Appearance: Kaiju are monstrous creatures that come in different sizes and shapes. All of them have different features, some more humanoid than others. Every kaiju possess a Core, which is their vital organ and weakness, inside their body, and since every kaiju comes in a different type the location of the core changes accordingly. Powers and Abilities: All kaiju gain their powers from their Uni-organ, an organ containing their specific powers. Despite their common nature, each kaiju possesses different abilities and powers, so it's quite rare to find similar kaiju. Some powers most kaiju have in common are super strength, proliferation abilities, and great fortitude levels. Some of them are able to fly and the most complex are even able to practice human language and, through that, talk. Classification: Power: Every Honju, the strongest in a group of Kaiju, is given a Fortitude level which is a way for the Defense Force to measure the kaiju's power and its potential threat to humanity. According to the Fortitude level, kaiju are then classified power-wise. Yoju are smaller kaiju who accompany their Honju. There are usually numerous Yoju to assist a Honju. Some kind of Yoju can have proliferative organs like the Honju. Yoju can appear in many ways, by traveling routes made by the Honju, leeching onto the Honju, being created by the Honju, and more. Some Yoju can have a fortitude number above 6.0, thus being a Honju-level threat while still being a Yoju. Honju are usually the biggest and most powerful kaiju, and the one who generates and guides all the other Yoju through their proliferative organs. Their fortitude level is usually above 6.0. A Honju with a fortitude level of 6.4 would require an entire Platoon of Defense Force soldiers to defeat it, and only a Captain or Vice-Captain could defeat one alone.

Kaiju (part 2)

Daikaiju is a special category of kaiju. It is the name given to particularly strong kaiju, whose fortitude level exceeds the number 8.0. Having appeared ever since the Meireki era, these kinds of kaiju are part of the strongest category, with their power not necessarily being linked to their size, since Kaiju No. 8 (Human Sized Kaiju) easily demolished a Honju much bigger than him. Due to their incredible power, Daikaiju can also be Honju and guide their group of Yoju. In spite of that, Daikaiju are not above operating individually on their own. According to Isao Shinomiya, the Defense Force presently has around two dozen elite officers who stand a chance at taking on a Daikaiju, less than ten in single-combat and when fighting a numbered Daikaiju, the number gets even lower. Identified Kaiju are daikaiju that are extremely powerful and have a fortitude level of 9.0 or higher. Even if their fortitude level is lower than 9.0 (Kaiju No. 9 who had a fortitude level of 8.5 before shedding its skin), if there is a need for identification than a codename will be given. While daikaiju of this caliber have always appeared in history, their identification numbers were implemented only after the fortitude observation system was established. Because neutralizing these types of kaiju takes a lot longer, the Neutralization Bureau gives them numbered codenames in order to identify them. When they are killed and weaponized, the corpses of Identified Kaiju become the core of Numbers Weapons. Size: Kaiju are also classified according to their size, with the largest being usually, but not always, the most resilient. Supergiant-class - Kaiju 100 Meters and Above Giant-class Kaiju - 50-100 Meters Midsized Kaiju - 20-50 Meters Miniature Kaiju - 0.50-20 Meters

Other Countries/Other Forces

Japan isn't the only country that gets attacked by Kaijus, so there is other Organizations in other countries, there's even some International Organizations. Each countries have their measures of dealing with Kaiju Attacks. Each measurements for Kaijus by different countries have their up's and down's. An example is America's way, using heavy artillery and firearms for killing Kaiju, the advantage of this measure is lesser casualties, and prevents the Kaiju from actually doing anything, because the full power of America, is able to stop a Supergiant Category IV Kaiju (Equivalent of Japan's Daikaiju) in less than 2 Hours. Their weakness however, is Miniature Kaijus, because they lack in close quarters, and it's hard to target a fast moving miniature enemy with firearms. China uses a similar way to America, but instead of their Artillery set on the mainland, they use ship artillery to attack Kaijus before they get to land. Their weakness is not the same as America however, because they have a counter for Miniature Kaijus, instead, they're vulnerable to intelligent Kaijus, those that attack from below like a shark, and also those with the ability to use beams to attack in a safe distance.
